It's finally here! There might have been a few slight issues along the way, but its finally here and I couldn't be more excited. Not only that but the next army out of the gate is my beloved Orcs! I can't wait to see what is coming down the pipeline in the future.

This is absolutely amazing! They are bringing kits back to the normal selection that I thought they never would like those great Big Un's which were the first unit legendary Brian Nelson sculpted before transforming the Orc aesthetics and Classic Ogres! Not sure why the ogres are mentioned here, BUT CLASSIC OGRES! The made to order is even more bonkers and I'm beyond glad about it even though to my infinite sadness I won’t be able to get them now so I dearly hope they will rotate made to order stuff so we'll get a new chance to get them.
I have a theory I meant to mention in this video... Might save it for another one!

I’m pretty sure all the core armies will be out this year.
The MTO is exciting, more because I’m hopeful for what the dwarfs get. Not really a fan of any of the plastic dwarfs, but have a big army of metals dwarfs that need reinforcements. So hoping they do a MTO for all the older infantry, some crossbowmen would be really helpful.

Just concerned that they're not Bigger than the regular orcs! I wonder if they could scale them up slightly, that would be really cool and make them live up to their names while keeping their cool look.

I must be too old for this. All these ‘classic’ miniatures I’m seeing being re-released still look too new to me 😂 And what are tomb kings? Undead should all be one army 😂
The giant is obviously a true classic. And I notice one of the Bretonian Knights on MTO is the same one released for the WHQ95 Warrior Pack, which is excellent.
Anyone know which ogres it is they're referring to?
I'm hoping either the 1985 Jes Goodwin ogres or the 1993 Michael Perry ogres!
@@90percentgeek I would be amazed if it was the Jez Goodwin C23 ones, would love to get those but they really are old. I have the captain but no others and several of them would definitely be on my list of the figures I would most love to have. The 90s ones are good too, but don't mean anything to me in the way the 80s ones do. Can't help wondering whether they would actually be significantly cheaper than getting them on Ebay mind.
Obviously I'm amazed they're rereleasing The Marauder Giant so I guess maybe anything is possible!

But please, one day soon I hope you stop calling those books "flavour pamphlets". It's such a deregatory term for what is essentially pretty cool additions to the main lists. What is wrong with calling them "expansion books"? Maybe your mind changes once you actually had one in your hand - probably the O&G one. Hopefully soon!
It's not meant to be derogatory, it was more that for a long time I couldn't remember the phrase arcane journal. I got hung up on flavour pamphlet as it struck me as funny, plus the size of the books is such that journal seems like an optimistic word for them.
They are pamphlets. It would have cost them next to nothing to add the full army lists to the "arcane journals" so that people who intended to only have one army could simply buy the "arcane journal" instead of the ravening hordes / armies of fantasy books. GW did that delib. They have no respect for you. Nothing but contempt.
Whilst your enthusiasm is refreshing. It's a little misplaced . I've been sculpting and painting for a long long time. ( To the point my Marauder Giant was cast and painted pre it's original release .) There literally doesn't seem to be any real substance to this whole notion of the old world. The synical side of me is slightly amused by the hypocrisy of many a commentary on this topic. As the wax lyrical over releases of miniatures they'd spent the last couple year decrying as quaint, naive and old-fashioned.
Personally I see no need to buy a new rule system for miniatures That I already own ,and their corresponding rule systems that I've been in possession of for decades.
The one miniatures piece of advice I'd proffer is base your Marauder Giant on a round base. As both the original 40mm ,and 50mm square bases are very susceptible to the table nudging,and knocks that goes on during a game.
I've never considered the classics to be quaint or old fashioned, in fact I'd urge you to look at some of my other videos where you will see me waxing lyrical about miniatures from all different eras (I do just tend to get very enthusiastic about miniatures generally). I take your point though and absolutely there's no need to get into a new game system if you still enjoy playing the older ones. I'm mainly excited about having ease of access to miniatures that were otherwise high cost eBay items, so that I can carry on playing 5th and 6th edition fantasy, but I am also excited to have another way to play with my toys.
Oh and thanks for the tip about the base! Is a round base generally less susceptible to tipping over then?
Really disappointed about the lack of releases for this, in no way surprised. But 1993 models for 2024 prices? Nah.
Lack of releases? Did you see the list?! Plus as someone who loves playing older editions, and have longed for a re-release of some of these models so I wouldn't have to pay eBay prices this is awesome!
Toxic positivity is going to TRIPPLE kill this already dead game.
I get it, some of those models hold up - actually only the Black Orcs do and they've been replaced with far better models in AoS now. The Orc Boyz look acceptable but are still dated. The Orc Boar Boyz are great (and the newest).The rest of the plastic? Trash. They are selling you garbage. That battalion is not worth more than £50. The only truly good plastic models here are the Boar Riders - great miniatures that came out around 2011ish - note the crap goblins came out 2000. Really, really bad.. They are LAUGHING AT US.
It would NOT have killed them to kick out some new Tomb King warriors/archers and cavalry plus a brand new plastic boxed set of Goblins. I can't believe they're expecting us to buy those ancient and dodgy goblin wolf riders when those models have already been improved and range-refreshed via Snarlfang Riders
How many resin giants are they going to sell? 10? How much are they going to charge? £200? We can already get better giants for AoS that should have always been WFB models.
Letting GW get away with this just reinforces their disgusting behaviour. The game is dead on arrival. And probably was designed to fail. This is a PUMP AND DUMP.
I do get the complaint about the costs, let’s face it GW have never tried to make anything cheap for us, but the idea that older models are bad just doesn’t hold up for me. Yes lots of the newer models are great but all my armies are littered with older models, which ones you like are purely a matter of preference. TOW is just allowing people to buy a lot of models that before were only available at eBay prices.
When GW killed Fantasy in 2015 there were still a bunch of armies that I wanted to get. They're now releasing those models again so that I can buy them. I really like the Goblins, and so far the prices GW have been charging for the old plastics have been relatively reasonable compared to the prices for newer models in AOS and 40K.
I don't share the enthusiasm some have for old (particularly large) metal models returning. This seems to be a specifically collectors thing. I remember at the time how eager we were for plastic kits to replace the current metal kits. So my only disappointment is that there's no plastic kit to replace an old metal kit.
I'll buy what I want to buy, and I'll enjoy it. Hopefully other people will do the same. If they don't, well it will still have been a net positive for me that it came back at all.

No offence dude but I see you post this negativity in the comments of almost every old world vid I’ve been watching lately, you obviously don’t like the new game so why are you hate watching all these videos about it and then shitting all over the game in the comments, surely you have something better to do than ruin everybody else’s fun. I love the look of this version and super stoked at the chance to get hold of some of the old sculpts I missed out on back in the day. Anyway I do hope you manage to build a bridge and are able to get over it at some point

Were you expecting them to? A big part of the schtick is a re-release of models people wanted to buy.
