    I am thinking about getting the z1 catted full down pipes for $1000. Or the megan racing lowers.. the only thing stopping me from getting the Megan's are the 2 primary cats that the z1's would be replacing... you think by removing the secondary cats. The spool up would be the same as stock? Because the full race pipes makes sense to a quicker spool. But with the lowers just seems like your wasting money with those primary cats still on the car

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety +2

      Plenty of tuners love that we have stock uppers because they help prevent severe over boost and oil loss.
      Its also easier to tune with using the waste gate not going buck wild lol.
      Finally their is no performance gain in going full Dp. The drawbacks are not worth it

    Just got a 2018 RS Q50! Enjoy your channel. Got the extended warranty and is wife’s car so don’t want to do the tune. Will the the lower down pipes benefit performance with stock exhaust and tune with some K&N panel filters? Don’t want to change to much from stock but want noticeable results.

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety +2

      I would recommend doing a jb4 and that's it.
      Downpipes will change the sound and idk if your wife will like it.
      Down pipes are cheap but when you go in for service you don't want them on

    • @VNTIL8TR

      Thanks for reply! Thought I read somewhere that lower down pipes won’t void factory warranty but a tune would. Am I wrong? Just looking for the best bang for the buck without changing much. I have owned a 1990 Maxima SE, a 1995 Maxima SE manual “ awesome car” and a 2003 fx35 Sport “ awesome suv”. But this is my first turbo Car. Also have a 2002 Supercharged Xterra .

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety

      For them to void your warranty they would have to find out that the part you installed affected the performance.
      So for instance if a turbo went out they would link it to the lower downpipes

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety +2

      Catted it full down pipes are a Go💯💯💯
      Most tuners like to tune with them because once again there's enough back pressure to allow the turbines to not overspend themselves

    Hmmm I just bought a q50 3.0t and am looking at downpipes... my question is.. if I go lower downpipes can I stop the "overheating" by getting a different heat exchanger? Or if I go full downpipes would a bov be my best friend for my turbos not to over spool? Thank you in advanced! Just trying to make a stupid fast dd!

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety +1

      Full down pipes are a waste of time.
      Only get lower downpipes.
      But overheating or heat soaking happens with all your vr30. So heat exchanger is recommended so you have consistent performance .
      Finally bov is only good when you let go all the gas pedal. All vr30 get boost spikes

    • @SBFromManjiMonsters
      @SBFromManjiMonsters Před 5 lety +1

      Boost In Motion why in your opinion is a fdp a waste of time? Is there no performance gain from it, does it harm your car, or is it just not worth the money for what it is? I’m trying to decide which setup to go for but I wanted the fdp so I could shoot flames but don’t want to damage my car

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety +2

      On this platform there are no performance gains full downpipes
      Boost targets achieve with just lower downpipes. And Tuners like the fact of a little bit of back pressure on the turbos to control the wastegates a lot easier

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety

      There are cheaper ones on the market now for Megan Racing about $150 so they're pretty cost efficient. The other lower downpipes most shop should charge your between 150 to 300 to install it

    • @Executiveinvestments-
      @Executiveinvestments- Před 5 lety +1

      your warranty would be voided even with a cat back. But regardless the part of the warranty thats voided would be exhaust related parts only.

    • @SBFromManjiMonsters
      @SBFromManjiMonsters Před 5 lety +1

      WINNING but if something happens to the car let’s say like the engine messes up or whatever or a turbo goes out, can they link the exhaust system to the problem and void warranty on that situation??

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  Před 5 lety

      That's all to the discretion of the dealership. If your motor or turbos went out they could try to sit there and say the exhaust allow the turbos to free Spin

    • @Executiveinvestments-
      @Executiveinvestments- Před 5 lety +2

      @@BoostInMotion no that wont happen. It has to be a RELATED part regardless. Changing the exhaust will only void the exhaust part of the warranty. Been there done that already.

    I just got a bms heat exchanger and ams ldp installed. Didn't feel any difference in performance on my red sport. Tech saying I won't feel much unless it's tuned. I'm wondering if this the optical sensor limiting the added air flow to the turbos?

    • @Time33Consumer
      @Time33Consumer Před 5 lety

      The Magnuson-Moss Act requires that the manufacturer must prove that the aftermarket part(s) you installed or any alterations you made to the car directly caused any problem that arose with said car.
      Now any modifications you made to the car might indeed have caused the problem, but just the fact of having made modifications to the car aren't enough for your warranty to be voided.

    • @shad3128
      @shad3128 Před 5 lety

      The codes aren't that crazy with down pipes or test pipes on Nissan and infiniti's. You'll get 2-4 codes, max, all telling you what you know already: there are no cats, the cats are operating below efficiency, or variations of both codes. No limp mode from them and it's to be expected if you don't tune the car fellas
