  • Specialized sell a pair of mudguards designed for the Creo (Plug +that Play fender set V2 P/N 98916-5015) uses their neat fixing holes at bottom of fork and rear triangle, problem is they only accommodate 700x32 width max, here was my solution to fitting wider mudguards using the bikes proper mounting points

Helpful! Same problem I ran into... but I'm only running 35s. Would have been great to see you actually fit the fenders to the bike! I'm sure it's easy but I've never done it before and I don't want to do what always ends up happening when I'm supposed to drill just a single perfectly positioned hole... (at least three oopsie holes)
I'd love to hear whether you've run into issues with the GRX derailleur. It's not always possible to soft-pedal with motor assist and so the thing has been subjected to quite a few full power shifts. At one point the hanger or dogbone or cage or something became warped and the bike would really struggle to shift into a slower/larger gear, causing the chain to jump off the front chainring and get wedged between the frame and the 'ring, scratching the crap out of the frame. I'm glad I don't have the carbon frame!

What a great effort you went to - to save me hours of my own! - Thanks so much. I've just taken delivery of the Creo 2 - and Specialized themselves are woefully slow at updating the info we need as customers.... I had no idea about the computer it shipped with, and, when the bike arrived at the shop, it transpired that, for 'reasons' there are now NO kickstand lugs for this bike - so lying the bike down... or up against the wall, are really the only two options when out and about. Pannier racks have their own story too since there are no lugs on the seat post and a couple of other surprises too.... good bike though!

Glad that was helpful, its a neat trick manufacturers have pulled by convincing people that things like rear carriers, mudguards and kickstands arent cool. They cost money and time to include and fit and they have people thinking they arent needed and save weight and they can charge the same without fitting them, kind of like car manufacturers have done the same thing with spare wheels, but its an electric bike with a motor!!!!. You will have to try and locate a third party chainstay kickstand if you want one, they are very very very useful and I wouldnt like to be without one. The non-enthusiast focused E-bikes have gone the other way, so my VOLT Pulse includes in the price alloy full length mudguards, an ABUS rear wheel lock and a chain, a swipe card to disable the bike for anti-theft, front and rear lights, a rear carrier and a sturdy kick stand all included, but thats because they are trying to tempt previous non-cyclists who want these things to go shopping etc. But nonetheless, the CREO is a very impressive bike, the range with the extender is amazing, but I still find the VOLT Pulse more useful for general chores and running around, I can also lend it to friends and they feel right at home straight away, doesnt have the range of the CREO though

I fitted the Specialized plug and play fenders onto my Creo. They were an absolute bugger to fit and get all square and equal distance etc. I found them a bit too flexible but once fitted and sorted they do look the business. Think there are other options on the market that maybe a better option.

I have always used mudguards, it seems that the more you pay for a bike, the fewer useful things like mudguards and sidestands, carriers and lights etc you get, if the Creo didnt have the clearance for mudguards I wouldnt have bought the bike., but they do fit well
