Athearn Union Pacific Challenger 3985 with Soundtraxx Tsunami 2 Big Steam decoder upgrade

Hey everybody, todays videos is on a Athearn Union Pacific Challenger #3985. I upgraded the unit to a Tsunami 2 TSU-2200 2 Amp decoder with a Scale Sounds System speaker. Unit came in with some issues and due to poor wire management, the previous Tsunami 1 decoders motor drive fried. Check it out and let me know what you think! Reverb and frequency’s were set by JT from Scale Sound Systems.

Excellent repair upgrades made to this Athearn Genesis Challenger model with the new sound decoder and the other additional features. The firebox light display and the whistle are very impressive and the whistle sounds very similar to the one used on the real 3985 while it was still in service.
