Excellent tips! I'm 50+ and did a solo trip to Paris a while back. Just freestyling all over the city on an electric bicycle (or scooter at the time) was probably the most fun I had in years. I got to see sooo much. I'll probably try the tour next time, to get that local perspective.
I'm 63 and went to Paris on my own last year for the first time. I loved it!! The French are so nice. I walked everywhere and enjoyed a lot of cognac lol
Scootering around the left bank to all the monuments was a highlight of our trip in November 2023!
@@renferal5290 Oh no, I forgot the Cognac. Was all in on the Pernod!
@@nataliekmitchell The next to effortless mobility is so much fun!
They have electric bikes for rent? I love to bike but have cardiac issue
I’m so excited to do all these things when I come to Paris in October for my 65th birthday!❤
Joyeux anniversaire in advance then !
Just got back last night, Montmartre was fantastic!
For the Bonus Level of adventure, get there via the Metro and funicular, it's so small and cute compared to the one here in Pittsburgh 🙂
Liz had a postcard from there, given to her decades ago, and we were able to aaaaaalmost exactly catch the same scene in a photo, with her in the center, holding the postcard.
Now that's a memory!
God I love Saturdays with you guys.
We just returned from France and I have to thank you for your wonderful videos. They were so helpful, especially the tips on ordering in restaurants and general etiquette. We followed your advice and had only pleasant experiences everywhere we went.
Our favorite thing in Paris was a Haunted History tour we booked through AirBnB. It was fantastic. It really brought the city to life.
We also visited Nice and did a perfume workshop at Molinard. It was amazing! Definitely recommend doing a perfume workshop.
I was in town for Jay Swanson's party, sorry I missed you guys! I was hoping you might be there...
☘☮🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮☘
I wish we were! Jay is a great guy. Glad you got to meet him.
We spent two weeks in Paris in April. Thanks to your channel it was a wonderful experience. I spent a lot of time in Paris in the 80s and 90s and boy did Paris change a LOT IN THOSE 30 (!) years. Thank you so much Les Frenchies! Your tips made this trip great for my children and myself!
This was our most favourite video and we watch you religiously every week! All the experiences are now on our bucket list. This may require multiple trips to Paris! C'est un plaisir de vous suivre chaque weekend.
My friend got engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower in December 2022 during Christmas and her sister who is a good photographer took the engagement photos and then took her wedding photos last July at her wedding in Texas. Beautiful.
Hi guys, The perfume worksop looks like something I would enjoy.
my 12 year okd daughter and I attended a Candora workshop. It was terrific. we learned some things, met great people, and left with our own special scents. Hopefully you can attend one too!
ooh dinner cruise - yes please...also I am fascinated by the locks of canals - I would love to do a Canal St Martin tour one day. Thank you for your videos - as always full of great info!
All great adventures! I think I'd like to fly into London, spend a week exploring and then travel by train to Paris for a week there!
YES that's the way to do it CHECK cost.. Benn there 15x.
Brilliant idea!
Wow, this was the most fun of all the Frenchies videos I've watched. I'm gonna do a bunch of these on our upcoming trip!
Brilliant ideas, useful links! Thank you, Antoine & Colleen!
I absolutely LOVE your channel and Yes, everyone wants to do all the typical things like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre etc.....but Paris is a magical city and doing these off the beat type things can be just as rewarding as the typical itinerary!!
I just came back from a 3 day stay in Paris! It was amazing!!❤this would be my second time. Thanks for your bistro recommendations! We went to Chez René and had an amazing dinner. I recommend this bistro as they were so nice and the food was delicious! The best way for me to enjoy Paris was to walk to all of the neighborhoods. We also took the Bateaux to the Seine and it was magical! We had a picnic with friends with a bottle of St Emilion wine at Canal St Martin, walked through le Marais, (we stopped by the Oficcine Universelle Buly) it's a cafe in an old perfume store that it has been around since 1803 and was such a beautiful place. I ended up getting a parfum to take home. Went to the Quartier Latin, the Opera, St Germaine, walked through the Sorbonne, and covered many other sights. Had a beer in the Tulleries garden and watched people play petanque. We also went to rhe Musee Rodin and Musee Picasso. But my favorite place was Montmarte! We climbed the many stairs and walked throught the beautiful streets. We stayed near the Opera Garnier and had easy access to the metro and sights by walking. One tip I can give is that Paris has an old Roman amphitheater in the Latin quarter, called the Arenès de Lutèce It's incredible to see! Go see it if you get a chance. It gave us a chance to walk to Rue de Moffetard with its many cool shops and cafes and swing by the Pantheon. Thank you for your videos! They were so helpful😊
It was so cool running into Antoine and Colleen in Paris today! We watched your videos getting ready for our trip to Paris, a lot of helpful tips and your videos are very efficient (some people stretch their videos with a lot of empty words or being repetitive, waste of time), your videos are packed with good information, thank you both!
Just spent a week in Paris….A+ for a beautiful city, D- for the people living there. Between getting run over by electric bikes(yes that happened) or being ignored in shops or restaurants, just not the city for me. If you like traveling and being treated like you’re invisible you’ll enjoy it.
I'm guessing that like most places you have to make an effort to use some basic phrases in their language to see the best in the people? Going anywhere, not just Paris, but any big city requires some effort on your part to be included as these places have millions of visitors every year and unfortunately,to them,a visitor is nobody special. I always prefer quieter places myself but do like to see the eyes of these major cities through other people's eyes. Locals especially.
OMG - excellent tips! Yet again you guys show me my previous trips to Paris were lacking in experiencing such things you show. I won't say I wasted my time - I mean, I was in PARIS - but you open up potentials I did not even know or think about. If there is a next time, believe me I will follow your tips. Thanks!
I felt in love with you and your channel. Next month I am flying to Paris due to my birthday, just for 3 days😂 I am delighted with your guide, your videos. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks ❤
Thank you for watching!
Ughhhh I wanna go back to Paris so bad. I'm planning next years trip and considering where to go but my heart is pulling me back to Paris.
Excellent as usual. We've done the motorbike & sidecar through the Place du Tertre & it's great going on that even with a bit of a crowd, you do feel very special.
Wow, that's a great experience. Thanks, guys!💕
I'm too excited to go to Paris in the fall 🧣🍂
Love you guys so informative and fun 👍🏼
Going to Paris in September……this video is exactly what i need….merci beaucoup et à la prochaine….. xoxo
I wanna do the bike and perfume tour. Vincent's and Sylvia's tours are brilliant according to my bosses who spent on food and wine by the lorry load and repeated their order for the Summer here in London.
I LOVE this video - memories of a wonderful day in Paris as well as the great food tours! Can’t wait to experience some of your other ideas. Merci, Colleen and Antoine! -Connie
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv avec plaisir et impatience! 🤗
Aw...everything was such fun..and worth the experience..and nice twists from the normal tourist-type stuff! Continue enjoying life in Paris!
Many thanks for a concise and very informative video. BTW loved that dog doing its business just to Colleen's left at 9:41!
Love the videos!! Thanks so much for all you do and share 🤗🤗
Loved the food tour with Silvia. Highly recommended, for sure a highlight of our trip!
she's awesome!!
I absolutely LOVED the photo session! those are amazing! you look so happy and beautiful :D
Merci Colleen & Antoine! You’ve given my BFF & me even MORE to consider for our visit to Paris this October!
Bon voyage!!
Fun video and I really enjoyed y'all's humor and joyful spirits!
Merci! We're having a bunch of fun over here.
Wow, you two are so cute and what great Paris adventures and experiences! Thanks!
A deux chevaux, when I was a student in the mid 70's was super popular and we bounced about Paris on the cobble stones, incredible suspension, though it feels like you're in a light cardboard box on wheels. Lovely Video.
Just back from Paris and finally got to the Canal St. Martin., something I wanted to visit but always got side tracked. What a beauty!!! now I have to get back so I can see where it joins the Seine!!!
I did the CV vintage car tour in Mont Marte when I went to France in March. Definitely a must do!
Oh boy ! I just returned to the US from France. I’ll have to go back to experience your suggestions!😊
I love watching your videos and will definitely refer to you on our next trip to Paris.
Ohhhh the dinner cruise takes me back🥲
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv it was soo beautiful. Pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night can never do it justice, imo. It creates a longing to return.
Excellentes suggestions. Will try next time in Paris, not during Olympic Games though. Thank you The Frenchies.
I booked us a CV2 tour. They have been great helping schedule our tour. They are even picking us up at our hotel in the 17th.
I booked a night tour. I wanted to see the city lights and hopefully the tower will sparkle. I ordered champagne too. Thanks for sharing.
This is an inspiration for trip #2.
So glad you enjoyed that ♡
Fantastic video. Your recommendations are great. I am not a confident traveller, but choosing personal guided tours would definitely be worthwhile. I'm feel cheese and wine envy!
Another excellent video! Fun suggestions. Thank you. And as you mentioned, Colleen: the canal tour is another unforgettable boating experience, starting in Villette and ending along the Seine, at the Musée d’Orsay. Loved it. Oh, and would add one more thing: a walk along the Coulée Verte…!
Once again great tips from the adorable Frenchies ❤
The city is great, currently roaming it, but not easy for a person with walking disability.
Many place have stares and no access.
Like your videos , will sure try the river cruse and maybe the vintage car tour
My dinner cruise started at 8:30 but you will want to get there a little earlier (they leave right on time) in case they've had to change which dock they're at. You will be able to verify which dock it is online before leaving your hotel. Your transporter is able to drive up. It was magnificent. Enjoy!
It's really not accessibility friendly. Not because they don't care. It's just really hard to retrofit that much old infrastructure. The official Paris tourism office website has pretty good info about it. And our colleague at DayIn tours does very nice guided tours for people with disabilities. Tell him we sent you!
Oooh the perfume workshop looks lovely! 🥰
It's so much fun!
Fabulous ideas. Awesome! PS: Every Sunday at noon local, I am watching....
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv :D
Would love a video on nightlife or cocktail bars or clubs or something to do for people over 40. I will be traveling with my parents and would love nightlife ideas
Bonjour Les Frenchies,
Excellent video and suggestions! I was in Paris a week ago and took a picture of the “ne pas pisser” sign (5:37), too! 😂
Great video with tips I’ll use for my trip to Paris!
For the dinner cruise, which seating should we select? We r going in Oct. Your channel is splendid. I have spent about 60 days in Paris since '73, but my husband has never been. We have an unexpected 3 night layover and my aim is to avoid the tourist areas and just play. The cruise and bike tour would be grand. We always find bike tours. Thanks.
I'm required for what? My question was about which seating is preferable on the cruise. There are two choices. TY
I love all your suggestions for Paris. I'm going to start a list for my next trip!! Have you guys tried the Bustronome tour? I was one of the best things my sister and I did last year.
Excellent video. I just got back from France on Tuesday. Spent 5 days in Normandy and 5 days in Paris. Unfortunately on my 2nd day in Paris, I caught a bug. Got a fever of 101. So I pretty much spent the rest of my trip in my hotel. Almost saw a doctor, but did not know how to..being a foreigner in a different country. Overall, though, the trip was amazing. I want to go back!
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv What is required? Being a doctor or coming back?
Why didn’t you ask the hotel?!They would have given you the quick answer where to go or schedule a doctor’s house call (hotel call).
@@Person-mh6xq because the fever went down after a day. I went from a fever of 101 to about a 99.1 the following day. Not really a cause for alarm.
Another great video! We missed you guys in Monmartre by one day. I saw your instagram post about being in Monmartre- I couldn’t believe we almost ran into you guys! Would’ve loved to say hi and thank you for the amazing tips that really made a massive difference on our trip. By the way, we loved La Boîte aux Lettres so much we ate there twice!
Another amazingly useful video. Merci!
Yet another fab video-Merci ❤🇫🇷
Excellent!! Thank you so much guys 👋🏼
Certaines des photos par le professionnal sont très réussies.
God bless you Antoine & Colleen Love you guys. From Queens NY❤
I’m going to Paris in September
I might be all over the place don’t know where to start
Bonjour guys! Soooo cool! Thank you. Each time love your videos. 🎉
Thank you for watching!
I love you guys ❤
Thank you for all the tips and information you gave us.
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv
I’m going to Paris in September I might be all over the place don’t know where to start.
Thank you!
I just love you guys!
What do you think about publishing a series of things to do outside of Paris ? There's so much to do
We're done a bunch of videos outside of Paris. Even a long compilation of places to visit.
Hi, we're going for a 3 day trip in Paris, we wanted to know where is the safe bag storage in Paris City centre for a day only.Thank you x
Oops ! The tour guy made a mistake for the picnic. White wine is better avec le fromage. I recommend you a Chablis for exemple. Bon appétit !
We definitely agree that white wine is better with most of the cheese in France l, but we always offer bottles of both white and red to fit all the cheese on the picnic plate. The video capture just a part of it. Have a beautiful day
i'm coming for a quick trip in a couple of weeks - will try Sain per your other video in viennoisserie!
That boulangerie is amazing!
Wonderful ideas. But my question is if you hire the Citroen for an hour, and it’s approximately $180-$200 an hour……do you TIP the driver after?? In the U.S. a $200 tour fee would mean a $40 TIP (20%). ………Tipping is VERY confusing!!
It is super confusing. We tipped $20 for this. Not sure if it is right but that is what we did
Bonjour 💕
Gotta work on these pétanque skills Antoine !
Wonderful tips for Americans! Still, no mention of how Place des Vosges got its name, nor its connection to the famous Commissaire Maigret!😢
Fun stuff 👍😀
Bonjour! I'm coming back to Paris for trip #55K (kidding) in October and I was wondering if you think Paris will be back to "normal" post-Olympics ie. public viewing stands taken away...Merci!!
Nice video. I don't see a link for Vincent's food tours.
Question: the vintage car tour looks so awesome. But they look tiny, I’m 6’2” do you think I would be okay?
It would be a tight fit. If you are interested, they do have other classic vintage cars with more room if you're interested. The vehicles are listed on the website.
I desperately want to go to the perfume experience
It was excellent. We really enjoyed it (twice)!
Here's a question, when you do these types of tours do the guides expect tips? Or is it all included like it is with food?
As a guide in Paris. We do accept tips and are happy with it, but we never expect it. It is more a bonus we always happy to receive.
you were near my house I wish i saw you
From Paris
Love your stripe blouse
Can't seem to book a 2CV tour, keep getting an error using the link when going to finalise/pay. Any suggestions? Looks fabulous :)
Try again! The link was fixed
@LesFrenchiesTravel Thank you so much! I did ask on the tips and tricks FB page but they blocked me from the group for asking! Booking now, and looking forward to our Cheese & Wine with Vincent!
Make tour Google it and have the tour
A 1000 mémoires
Rent a bike and visit Concorde....
Hopes that the 2cv doesn't take the wrong turn and dumps tourists in maison Rouge or barbes....
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A warning. People who have allergies should not do the perfume experience. I was at the perfume factory in St. Paul de Vence and sneezed repeatedly as I walked in the lobby. I also took out a traveling friend as her face was red and swollen from the intense smell of fragrances.
Those two américains who lived in Paris are full of money to do all theirs are doing vintage car real one plus but Montmartre by feet do not hurt , take téléphérique Navi go card is good for it
Why did u post this twice?
I’m surprised that you could picnic on the grass.
In Paris you can picnic in many parks in the grass, some parks will have limited space to do so and other parks will be fully open to it. This is why we always finish sitting on the grass to enjoy our picnic with our guests
We love you guys and followed many of your tips but the ‘Paris authentic’ vintage car was not good. Please don’t recommend this. Our guide gave no info about Paris, he was not French, we paid extra for the Arch d’Triumph which we didn’t get, AND the car was barely running - it stalled out three times in busy Paris traffic plus the back seat was practically hitting the pavement, the windshield wipers didn’t work, etc. It was bad but at least we laughed about how epically bad it was. P.S. It rains a lot in Paris and if you book this during one of those rainy bouts, you cannot see a thing during this ‘tour.’
So sorry! Thank you for letting us know. We did the tour with them a long time ago. The one we use now is Parisi. They are wonderful and very professional.
I'm sorry you had that experience. I'll see how we can remove them from our stuff
We did this on May 28th! We thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide gave a lot of information. It was a great first night in Paris.
Bonne vidéo, comme toujours. Mais j'ai bien peur que vos conseils ne soient réservés que pour des gens qui ont des revenus au dessus de la moyenne.
@Lesfrenchies-yl5vv Sorry. Required for what?
Parfum is good but in reality theirs are not made this way
😮😮😅😅😅😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
🎉🎉🎉😮😮😅😅😊😊😊
Juste a little precision
Right now:
STAY AWAY FROM THE 2CV TRIP FOR GOD’S SAKE.
Olympics make trafic jam increasing AF. If you wanna stay in a car for 2h, it’s up to you. Even montmartre will be jammed soon. A perfect waste of time
We went on a week night and it was a lot of fun. Yes, some areas were closed due to the Olympics but the driver navigated around easily.
To bad the French don't have legal red light districts. 🥂
Max (your photog) discount code no longer works
Logic :)
I'm too excited to go to Paris in the fall 🧣🍂
