Hi, By default these printers are set up as DHCP network. That means that as soon as you connect it to the network, your router will automatically assign an IP address for you. If your printer has a permanent IP address on the memory, the printer will not allow the router to assign the IP address. If that is the case, you need to reset the printer network connection. i installed drivers and setup printer correctly yet everytime i print a test label or try to print a shipping label the printer prints out a random barcode that says dws id label
Hi, That means your printer was programed to print that label every time you send a job to it. You have to format its memory so it does not that again. You can do that with the driver called Seagull Scientific Did you buy this printer from Solutionsgem? If you did not, you can ship the printer to us and we will reprogram it for you. When I connect the printer to my network, I’m not able to communicate with it over the network. I can print the configuration page, and the printer has an IP, but when I try to create the port it’s unable to connect to the printer. I also can’t get to the printer’s web interface by entering the IP in a browser. It just loads for a minute and then times out. The Ethernet cable I’m using is good, I’ve tested it, and when I plug the cable in, the link light on my switch turns on.
Hi, That sounds like your printer has a permanent IP address saved on the printer memory. Is likely that IP address is not compatible with your router or network. You need to reset the printers network system. Hi, It should work, however the default label size on these printer 4 x 6. The smaller label might not have all the information. It would be easier to install the driver, change the labels size in the driver. Then you can get the configuration label. That way it will know up have a smaller label and will fit all the configuration info.
What test label are you printing? test label from computer or from the printer? The test label from the printer does not mean it will work with your computer. Have you tried connecting the printer to your computer via USB cord to test the printer first? Where did you buy the printer from? They might offer tech support. Dont u think the IP setup with dedicated pseudo ports and printer queues was/is a bit overkill to just set this machine up for printing labels for ebay or USPS???? I mean sure - if you are putting this in on the shop floor of a large shipping facility (u got the wrong Zebra) or in an IP network like Procter & Gamble go for it. Simple USB or serial or even a null Ethernet cable would be so so so much easier. For CCNA purposes, this instruction is appropriate.

I you have the Zp450 with ethernet or any other ethernet connected G series Zebra printer, you can make it work with your Mac. Just need to go to your Settings, Printers and Scanners, Add a printer. Click on the IP icon on upper left hand corner. The address will your printer's IP address. Example 010.000.001.010 IP type 10.0.1.10 Protocol will be Line Printer Daemon- LPD. Leave Queue blank. You can name the printer anything you want. You can leave location blank or describe the location if you need it. Click "Use" drop down menu, choose select software. Choose the last driver on the list called Zebra ZPL Label printer. Click Add. Then test your printer by printing a label. Do not forget to change the label size before you print the label. These printers are tricky. If the IP address is not set up correctly it will not work. We offer tech support via phone and computer connection for a fee. @@solutionsgem Turns out it was a driver issue. the version i downloaded wasn't compatible with the version of my printer. I deleted everything and started fresh with a new driver and the printer started working flawlessly.

Hi, Thank you for your business! Unfortunately the ZP450 is not a wireless printer. There are a few Zebra printer versions like the GX420d with an intention wireless printer server that can connect to you WiFi network. The ZP450 only have a USB and two versions have Ethernet connection. The ethernet connected printer needs to connect to your rougher via Ethernet cable. After is all configured with your router and you have your printer IP address, then you can print wirelessly to it. Is that what you mean? Do you have an ethernet connected ZP450? any idea why, every time after i set it to permanent and click save, it resets my ip to 0.0.0.0 and doesnt let me connect until i reset the print server?
Hi, Unfortunately we have never encounter that issue in the past. Try restarting your router. It might not be allowing you to do that. Do you have another router you can try the printer with?
@@solutionsgem I actually figured it out. something about the zebranet print server didn't like setting a permanenet ip. I had to reset the actual zebranet card by using the small button to the side of the ethernet port on the back of the printer. Once i reset the zebranet card, it was able to reassign an IP address. The instructions weren't in the printer manual unfortunately. I didnt see them until i looked at the zebranet help document,

If the address is 000.000.00 means your router is not assigning an IP address to your printer or your printer has a permanent IP programed in to its memory. You can also use google chrome and do not use the zebra format. Use the Laser or Inkjet format. When you go to print, choose your Zebra printer, change the orientation to landscape and set the margins to none. That way do you not have to worry about Java not working or installing the Applet. Hi, If you do not get an IP address, your printer does not have the Ethernet Card Built In. ZP450 printer with built in ethernet are rare and more expensive. We have external Ethernet Cards that connect to the Parallel Port available. They cost $69 with shipping and technical support included.

Hi, You have to hold the feed button and release it when the lift flashes once. That will give you the configuration label along with the Network Configuration network. Please make sure the printer is turned on and the green light is solid. You need to make sure the ZP450 has an Ethernet connection on the back. If your printer does not have an Ethernet connection on the printer, it will not work. ZP450 with Ethernet connection as not very common.

When you connect the printer to your router, if the printer is set up correctly, your router will assign an open IP address. Then you hold the feed button and let it flash once. That will print your configuration label and the IP assigned to your printer. Then you can follow the instructions on the video to set up your printer on your computer. I did all this and everything worked properly up until I tried to print a test page. It refuses to actually print anything.

It works with Chrome Books with USB connection. We have not tested the Ethernet Connection.
