    Love the idea of ripping the rails to two at the end. Makes me feel much comfortable cutting the groove on the table saw.

    Wes, thank you for sharing your knowledge. Having retired, I can now spend time with woodworking. I have found your several videos as my guide in building kitchen cabinets. Wish I had a bigger shop than my 14’x22’.

    Hello Wes - I recently discovered your CZcams offerings. I have watched MANY woodworking videos over the years that have been quite helpful. Yours, however, are the best. You are as astute at teaching as you are at working with wood. I can't thank you enough. (Edward, Vancouver Island)

    Wes- I have been watching your channel and just wanyted to say thanks for all your time and expert knowledge. My daughter has just moved to anew house which needs some TLC. She asked me if I could make her some cabinets and floating shelves to her living room. I of course said yes, she wanted shaker style doors. After watch your videos I can now say I can make good quality shaker doors. I will be fitting them this weekend. I will leav e the painting to her and her partner. Thanks once again, you enabled me to do something which will last for years.

    Seems like a tongue and groove router bit set might be the more efficient way to cut your stiles and rails.

    Do you cut your panels shy so they have expansion room? Or cut them to butt right up against the stiles and rails? Do you cut them shy if using space balls?

    Which method do you prefer to make these cabinet doors -- the table saw or the router table? I do like the double wide idea you had shown on both videos.

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před rokem

      The router table method offers greater speed for a multiple door production so I like it the best. Thanks for watching, Wes

    Wes you are a fantastic instructor. What kind of putty do you use?and does it shrink?

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před 3 lety

      Hi John...thank you so much for your kind words! The wood filler I use is Famowood .Wod Filler . Shrinkage is not a problem but I always touch up my filler after my first sand to make sure I didn't leave any voids.

    Wes, I will eventually be making my own shaker doors. I want to do an antique glaze on them though. I was thinking about doing a bead/Ogee on the inside edge profile that way the glaze stands out a little more. What step in your process would you recommend adding the bead?

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před 4 lety

      After you complete the build on your shaker door, make your bead/Ogee separately and miter it into the inside of your style and rail and then do your finish. I hope that answers your question as I understand it...please let me know if you need more info.

      @@WoodworkingWithWes I think we are on the same page. What is the best way to do that so you are able to reproduce that on every door? Thanks for the replay btw

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před 4 lety

      @@Waynegoproductions Your question makes me think that I don't fully understand what you are trying to accomplish. But the mitered in bead molding needs to be done door by door. Hope this helps.

    Wes, I went today to get the router bit to begin practice on making a shaker door. What style of shaker bit is recommended? I believe there are about 4 or 5 different router bit styles. Thanks.

    Hello Wes, Im trying to figure the cheapest way to mill stock for shaker doors, can I get away with just a planer? You mentioned milling to 7/8". Was that from a 1" board?

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před rokem

      Hi...the 7/8" thickness was arrived by planing down a 1" thick board. That's give you what you will need. Thanks, Wes

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před 2 lety

      Yes...the panel is MDF which is what I use for all my paint grade doors. Thanks for watching. Wes
