Im gonna drive this on the interstate.
Me too!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know a local classic rock station ( 96.9 🦅The Eagle 🦅) has a bit that goes like:
“No matter if your in your car, or on a Tricicle (bell noice), this is Driving Music”
So driving this around has MAJOR energy of that lol
Pics or it didnt happen 😂
Good thing he said it’s “torquey” so merging onto on-ramps won’t be an issue.👍🏼
I’m gunna drag race this on the quarter mile😂😂
Wow, that's not bad for the price. If I still lived in a city with a metro I'd totally get one for the last mile problem.
Check your local dealer price online they were selling for $1950
It’s actually pretty bad for the price. You can get plenty of scooters with more speed and better range for less than half the price
@@ganymedehedgehog371 you're missing the point. The speed and range are not the reason to buy this, it's the portability and form factor that are the main selling points here. Yea scooters can fold up, but none of them will be as easy to carry on and off a bus/metro or store out of sight under a desk/in a cupboard at a job. For most professionals it's going to be a lot easier carrying around what's essentially a suitcase than a folded up scooter that's bulky and like 4 feet long. This thing is meant to unobtrusively get you that last mile or two that aren't covered by public transit, NOT to be ripping around town at high speed and distance for your whole commute.
@@rafaelmenchacajr2824 I thought its $995 USD
@@tallperson117 I'm very tempted to get one for the reasons you gave. 40 lbs is nothing to sneeze at, though; that's heavier than my tuba (without its case) and I don't like to carry it further than across a large parking lot. But from the train platform to outside, it would be okay.
Make a backpack strap thing for it and that would be amazing. No way I'd be leaving it locked up outside the store.
40lb backpack on one strap = horrible back pain
I think I'd need to improve my squat and deadlift quite a bit before strapping that monster to my back
Or just walk the thing like a suitcase with wheels which you can do
@@Valorous1440 Not to mention the people it'll clip.
40lbs strapped onto most backpacks being used in the same situations this bike would be used (urban commuting) would destroy both the backpack and your spine lol. Like sure, maybe if you’re using a full size hiking backpack with a hefty waist strap…. for your oddly rugged and inconvenient urban commutes lmao
I need this in my life 😁
No pedals and has a throttle so will not be legal in the UK :(
Electric scooters are street legal in UK.
It's been like that for the last year or 2 or 3.
@@NextNate03 Thats wrong they are legal to own and use on private land they are not street legal unless hired from an approved rental service.
Those pedals are fkn dangerous when you have to come to a quick stop on an e bike.
Make you fall. In the way of your foot. Tell it to the Judge Mr. Stupid laws by stupid people.
Might be cool to zip back and forth across adjacent cities/boroughs like from Boston to Cambridge or Brooklyn to Manhattan
In Boston I ride a compact electric unicycle. It only weighs 28 pounds and fits right in my backpack.
this is why I haven't bothered buying a car my whole life. The time of these will come.
edit: cheaper than an Iphone 😮😮😮
I could see a version of this with a longer battery life (without significant weight additions) being used very heavily internationally. And as mentioned, somewhere to store something like carry-on bags or whatever else you'd normally be walking with.
I'm actually impressed... dude pulled a sick Akira slide at the beginning of the video!
Would like to see CNET cover electric unicycles too (EUCs) - there is a learning curve to riding them, but say, an Inmotion V10F is about the same price but far greater range, speed, compactness and there is no folding needed! Great addition to an RV or a fun car alternative commute. Seems like you have covered just about every other micromobility, which is great!
The one you mentioned seems pretty neat, I thought you meant those Lorax (Movie Adaptation) looking things!
(Granted people can like those too and they work well, i just always think of that movie lol)
@@ericlotze7724 lol - yeah - those are real things - same technology, also in Battle Angel Alita too. EUCs are a truly minimalist EV, in wheel motor and a battery and the self balancing gyro, only one moving part, the wheel itself, all controlled with just balance, what I love about them is the compactness, you get a luggage handle that pops out and you can wheel them around a shop or into work. Charge them under your desk. Completely silent, and once you get the hang of it, very stable despite how they look the opposite.
Agreed! I own a Begode Mten4. It only weighs 28 lbs. Fits right in my backpack
i feel like many people would want something like this or an escooter to start with as its easy to get used to. and then EUC if they enjoy getting around on PEV's since EUC takes some time getting used to. but once they discover EUC, they probably wont be able to go back to any of this stuff. It's much more enjoyable than scooter imo
Oh my god. What is it with EUC weirdos who constantly post in every single video about PEVs that scream about how everyone should ride EUCs? Calm down. No one riding one of these Honda PEVs would ever consider an EUC as an alternative. They’re incredibly different with completely separate use cases.
Please take your insecurity about EUCs elsewhere and stop forcing your breathless unending advocacy on the rest of us.
I wonder if it would fit into the boot/trunk of my Honda e ?
How many watts can you even lift bro?
How much would this be in ireland or uk? What websites would you get it off? Thanks 😀
Interesting 🤔! Can I buy one in Australia?
can it start on an uphill slope?..... Or, more to the point: On how steep a slope can it start moving when there is a 200lb driver sitting on it? (most EV scooters can NOT start moving from a standstill if they are on an uphill slope.)
Not available yet? I have to check. I have mobility problems. This may help
Ah, I remember the early days of the electric scate board
15 miles an hour is a 4 minute mile pace, on two feet that is flying. ~14 USD @ 72 months depending on financing, not bad for a first vehicle! Thank you Honda for lowering the cost of entry on an EV!
Go try ordering one right now. I’ll bet you can’t, unless maybe you pay for an order to be shipped directly to you. If you select dealer pickup they will cancel it. Happened to both myself and my friend.
It would be better if it was designed like a rolling suitcase with handle like carry-on luggage rather than old fashion suitcase that you have to lug around.
I ordered mine then they canceled my order and made me order it again because apparently you can’t have it delivered. You have to pick it up at a dealership even though they give you the option to ship it when you’re ordering it.
Dude how much was your Honda dealer selling it for. The one in downtown LA had a $950 mark up price when I checked yesterday 😂
I’ll wait for the model that also turns into an Iron Man suit
I have no need for it but cool idea. I do prefer the design of the Motocompo, it looks better for me.
All these years later and it is SLOWER and has less range than the original. Either buy a regular electric scooter or import the real deal.
Awesome. Reminds me of my moped I used to drive around back in my middle school days.
Would it go somewhere steep? I highly doubt it. Its cool and all but only for flat terrains.
Is it the same scooter used in "OK GO" band (I won't let you down)?
What it needs is one button push so that it automatically transforms into carry (portable) mode.
also, why carry it around, why don't use the already existing wheel like a luggage
@jensenraylight8011 this is what i was thinking. I was wondering if the wheels would free-wheel in suitcase mode. I'm fairly short so I'd probably jist pull this like a suitcase. 😅
007
Wow what an incredible futuristic small bike 😊
EScooter. Not a bicycle
Late 1800s to early 1900s are shrugging their shoulders at you. They had way cooler electric and gas-powered rides back then
I'd like to see a video review where they have it at a quarter mile track against a runner!
My biggest problem is the logistics of it. It's not quite light enough to throw on a backpack, but it is light enough to be picked up and stolen. You could get coffee easily enough but casually shopping or going to a movie would be a challenge compared to a normal moped/bike. Just locking it on a bike rack looks improbable with the folding handlebars/small wheels.
40 pounds giant credit card. The range, speed, and handling suck, no onboard storage.
It needs a key or something
The thieves around here can bust any lock, Gone in 15 minutes. Bye!
this is very japanese design that we would definitely see more in Tokyo.
Its a cute idea but a grand for what amounts to a toy for most people is hard to swollow
It goes in the back. Buy Two for Double the Fun with your Loved Ones! Yahoo! Whoopie!
Bought mine today! Can’t wait to get it!
Lies
@@wileecoyote5749 don’t be jealous 🤣
You can preorder them at the moment. Honda was supposed to start shipping October 31 but they are backed up now to like mid November.
@@darrengriffith9680 my dealer said to expect delivery the first week of December.
Make the handles more likes a trolley bag! For most use
I'll wait for the next generation. I'm surprised at the price I was expecting it to cost more.
Me too fair price
This is pretty expensive considering the specs. You can get better scooters for less than half the price.
Top speed 15. Range is 12.
I can see myself using this for local errands on street sweeping days when I don’t wanna move my car.
But top speed seems too slow to be practical. 25 is preferable, 20 is minimum
And all the folding and disassembly seems cumbersome compared to a standing scooter .. and yeah I know it has a seat, but a seat can be added to standing scooters as well. Some anyway
🤔
Yeah, it's a fun little oddity but an E-bike can get you more places more comfortably and faster. And for around the same price, although a nice city Ebike gets expensive quick. for a thousand bucks the motocompacto isn't too bad though, for the person who doesn't want to pedal and also doesn't want to spend E-Bike prices.
I really like the look of this and it's from a trustworthy brand....but you hit at the main issue I have, I could buy a stand up scooter for less money but more range and a higher top speed.
This is designed more for looks and the cool factor of folding into a suitcase. iPhone users should feel right at home, overpaying for shiny new toys.
Ok, so does it also transform into an autobot or a decepticon
The light weight is a real bonus.
Plod would have to catch you first… by which time you can say “You got a problem with my suitcase, officer?”
Something that’s really going to make or break the new Motocompacto is the strength of its kickstand, which appears to be the only way to lock the scooter to a bike rack. It’s got a very thin metal loop on it that doesn’t look like it’ll be strong enough to deter thieves.
With 12 miles range and no charger they're not going to get very far. IMO if you're that worried about theft then just...fold it and take it inside with you!
Granted as long as it doesn’t get super muddy/wet (which is a possibility), one could take it inside perhaps! Definitely a valid concern though, sure doesn’t look like the cheap bike not worth stealing.
It's the size of a briefcase. If you have a desk or locker at your place of work just bring it in. That's literally the whole point of this thing.
Take it inside! I would not leave that thing outside 😂 it’s compact and light enough. You could probably even throw it in a shopping cart lol
Just bought mine today:)
I don't see the point of this when you get escooters for half the price and are compact when you fold then down
Variety and Choice is the spice of Life.
Each to their own and Love all around.
Town.
I'd still rather have a regualr bike, I hate the thought of having to pedal or move extra weight around because of a dead battery
I understand it has little wheels on the back so you won't get stranded or was that the old one? ?? Watch more videos?
I LOVED real bicycles. Is there some kind of reason that no matter what you do or know, they WILL GET STOLEN?
Give it time. Enjoy them while they last. Blame the crackheads if you will.. Love it while you got it!💗😖😞😡
make this an add-on to one of their vehicle packages
I need this to clear places where battery powered e-mobility isn't allowed.
Looks fun, but I think the speed and range need some improvement before this will appeal to a broader market of commuters... OR, alternatively, lower the price and weight while keeping that speed and range.
the display is not a good idea
Thank you , but could you teach me your height? I want to know the ratio of my body to the bike.
Does it have VTEC?
and an H22 four banger!
😂
NOT MADE FOR ALASKA 😢
range seems suboptimale but i guess thats how they kept the weight down
2 small they need a sportier pit bike type version.
I wonder how this thing does on hills.
Cute Robo Era wil Come!!! I Love it Yay ✌🏻😍✌🏻
can you put an infant car seat in back?
wish it had a carry on mode for trains.
Does it not?
It does!
You have to fold it down.
That's great! Wish they will sell this in Japan.
😂@@pitipan
Those electrical vehicules should be allowed in planes as long as they are not charged.
Is this for the 15 minute cities 😂
Time to fold down: 2:47 start; 3:33 finish = 46 seconds, every time. Could be improved.
Folding bikes get a lot quicker the more you practice, he could probably do half that reliably.
I thought about that a lot since I heard about this.
Being too old now, I have trouble with Simple things like standing more than a few minutes.
I am a Kawasaki fan but I truly respect the name of Honda. Me on a HONDA? i WANT ONE!
If the handle can extend you can move it like luggage
Not bad for $995.
Not when comparing to other similar price scooters.
how does this make sense in 2023? any electric scooter has a much longer range and weighs less than 40lbs . cities are full of them
They are going to sell like hot cakes!
I could use one for sure!
I'm starved.
Ohh oh here we go, take my money
dont get me wrong i support electric mobility, i mean its little and cool and fun, but imo for the size and mileage, the grom makes a bit more sense ngl.
Better ranges speeds and prices on other e-bikes
Ugh even their electric mopeds are front wheel drive 🙄
12 miles? Well that’s not far at all
It’s a lot of fun to ride!
Just like Honda's EV car lineup, already outdated and late to the game. Segway for the win.
Good for old people.
I am kind of Sold and Yes I'm Old.
Less from the store but more easy go back and buy more.
Bring it in and sit on it for a rest if needed.
I wouldn't want to leave it out there.
Only so much you can carry with it.
so when i leave it somewhere, and come back, the seat might be gone :D
It's like that with every bike and scooter that has a seat out there.
@@NextNate03 yeah but this one is nicer 😁
Square Lego scooter...
The Motocompacto appears to just meet the California DMV definition for mopeds, which means it can only be ridden on roads, requires a motorcycle license and a helmet to ride, and worst of all, plates and registration. No insurance, though!
What is said is all true, except it applies to gas engine only. It is not a bike, so people may not like to see you using bike lanes.
@@rayngai4948 It's smaller than a bicycle, shouldn't have any problem using bike lanes other than dealing with the haters.
He looks so sweet on the bike! ☺
motocompo came in the honda city not the jazz
It be smarter to a scooter that can be fold to briefcase
Cost to much for the specs of the scooter.
But can I take my doggo on it
TF fans: PARTSFORMING REEEEEEE
Yeah 15mph for 170lbs n under
Is he under 170 though? Not sure if he mentioned it
This is a death trap in chicago.
nobody cares
Looks awesome!
I definitely want one
日本では売られるかわからないのよ
欲しいけど買えない
It’s a cool concept… but for the majority of the US which isn’t in large metro areas it will be nothing more than a cool gag- for that same money you can buy a Lectric folding bike for cheaper and get a lot more range. You can also ride it with pedals when it’s out of battery in a pinch. I agree that it also needs a strap.
How well will it can tolerate indian roads...?
$10,000 fine + possible jail time if riding this on Australian roads. Yay.
I'd rather have a morocompo. This jawn looks 2 redic.
Bring a 49cc version see it sell out
Don't give anyone ideas. 😂
$900 !! Nope i can buy a better on at M y Local Costco for less and runs faster and goes for 30 miles 😅
They made you wear a helmet😂
Liability protection.
15 mph?! It seems useless. I better run or have a cheap bike.
12 miles?
If you're 100lbs
It need to be 500 or 600 dollars. EV types should be half what combustion engines should cost. From Cars to trucks to Buses. That’s the whole point of going EV in the first place is half the cost. Now a faster longer distance of about three miles maybe five would be nice around 1000 dollars. But this model should be around five or six hundred dollars. Would be a hit for the kids and down town residents. Everyone would get one ASAP at that price point.
Sweet
Dumb dumber scene.. imagine jim carrey riding this lool
15 lb too heavy.
Thanks Russell Westbrook
