  • Hey Friends,
    Welcome back to my channel and to another video. This week I am letting you all take a peek into my notebook so you can see some of the lessons I've learned while living in a Bus (Domino) for 18 months, and traveling cross country solo, living van life.
    The topics I will be discussing are: Finding camp site with apps, Gas cost AND I will be including how much I spent on gas for this past trip, Humidity, my Luggable Loo, Fears of being a Solo Female Traveler living Vanlife, and having a morning routine.
    I hope you all gain some insight and are able to learn a little more about this crazy lifestyle.
    I will catch yall next Fri where you get to see my morning routine.

    Sawdust or cedar chips work perfect for smell and liquid absorption. You can get free sawdust from saw mills. Cedar chips can be found in pet stores and pet departments in Walmart. One scoop on your poop is all you need. ❤️🚚✊🏾

  • @fluffbigrollingmarshmallow

    First visit to your channel and love it! BTW, those moisture absorber containers - you can get those at most Dollar Trees - yup, only $1 each and they work great. I use them in my sticks & bricks home in a couple of closets that tend to have a bit higher humidity. Also, although Gorilla Glue will probably work for your cork, it might be effected by high humidity and/or heat. If you have a caulking gun, I suggest using a tube of heavy duty construction adhesive, such as Loctite or Liquid Nails. You can find them at any Home Depot or Lowe's, and I've seen one or the other at some Walmarts as well. If you don't have a caulking gun, I think one or both brands make a tube of it that doesn't require a caulking gun - more expensive per tube, but a solution for those without a caulking gun. Safe travels!

    Thank you for the video. Im just finding so many great black people today living the vanlife. I'll be right behind you when I finish my Vanagon build. Cant wait to see you on the road one day.
    With the toilet situation, I just saw a video today where they used "woodchips" or like hamster cage bedding. I like the essential oil idea. I still havent decided how to handle that for myself.
    The Gorilla glue is great stuff. Just be mindful it expands when it dries if you use the original kind. So it could make your tack boards bumpy.
    I also have that same fear of being locked out. Im just an anxious person. 🤞🏾 We never get locked out lol.

      You might want to reach out to Amazon if you haven't gotten your firepit. I got mine so long ago & i believe mine came in a timely manner
      Not sure what you mean about that husband thing...My husband travels with me sometimes (like in the Bussin it to Florida series) and sometimes he doesn't. He has a full-time that requires him to be near so that's pretty much it. Also, in my tour video (you should check that out if you havent) I explained how/why I got into Dom/vanlife...that should basically clear up any confusion.

    Great video content. When you first started did you always know you wanted a schoolie , did it take you a long time to find one in the condition you wanted. Do you have any tips for anyone considering getting a schoolie?

    • @WhereIsBrittany
      @WhereIsBrittany  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you, I didn't know I wanted a Skoolie until I saw the Nomadic Movement on CZcams & that changed my mind. I got Dom from an online auction which I wouldn't recommend (if you haven't watched my tour, you should, I talk about that in the beginning), Facebook marketplace & Craigslist have buses on there, just don't be afraid to expand your search...and a bus in my opinion is like a regular car. If you don't know much about them, find someone to go with you and check what you'd normally check in a regular car. Also, if you can find a resaler who has all of the maintenance records on it.
      Good luck with everything.

    Going to try that essential oils techne you use because even though I have working toilet system I really don't like trying to find dump stations especially when you can just take the bags and toss them in the dumpster. Dumpster poo lol I can only hope no one goes dumpster diving into 2 small garbage bin. Lamo

      @@WhereIsBrittany Lmaooooo nope... and I have a Flying J card and everything. You know what though you're mentioning that is the second time I've heard about free showers. A trucker said he had a platinum card membership and gave me one of his free showers when he overheard me talking to the clerk about to pay for mine.
      Now I have to look it up to see if it's possible to get some of those perks. Thank you again for mentioning oils, I have a cat I have been commandeering some of her fresh kitty litter. Really digging the tips have a great day. #artisBlu

    Hi Brittany. I am trying to buy a bus and convert it. I notice some people say they insulate theirs. Is your insulated and if not how has that been for you? Just trying to see if I need to insulate mine or not. Thanks.

    • @WhereIsBrittany
      @WhereIsBrittany  Před 3 lety

      Hi Mickey, Doms floor is insulated. I personally don't think it's worth insulating a bus unless you're going to replace the windows. Because of the bus windows there's so much air coming through these tiny holes you're never fully enclosed.
      So to me, its not worth it unless you're doing the whole sha-bang if not, just do the floors for a little extra warmth
