- Francesco Ceccarelli, an architect in Bologna, lives in a one-room apartment that used to be a garage. It takes a lot of work and creativity to turn old, seldom-used buildings into modern homes.

Francesco seemed super passionate about his job. I love such people
Mark Thompson HE IS ITALIAN!
I love how you incorporated all the plants into your polish, super declutter and simple living style.
Simple elogant ,incognito .ergonomically sound functional .wonderful use of space tailor made ,space is space it does not discriminate between garage or shed, utilise or improvise.well design serves its purpose..
Beautiful conversion. Bravo
Good brilliant ideas and well done 👍🏻
Incredible. Love it
Best example of “one mans trash is another mans treasure”

Nice homophobia!
Anyone know the name of the song? Sounds like it’s got a sample from the theme of “Taxi”
cool
Wait so when are u putting your place on Air BnB? Lol I'd like to prebook if possible xD
everything is nice. The people who complain about this and that should make their own.
Neko c honestly though, who's complaining.
2:25 I'm so happy
One thing that always seems to get me. With american tiny houses and space efficient videos they most annoying parts are when they focus too much on the detailed craftsmanship. Almost all the foreign ones I see seem to annoyingly focus on the artsyness and existential nature of the design (almost always at the cost of practicality and functionality).
Simple and nice .. all those plants would need to go tho.
What software he uses to design that house?
detya kamandanu its called sketchup. Its free. Im learning it currently
Holma Runter Lol.
Edit: Oops I didn't realize it was Abode SketchUp. The one I was thinking about was an app from Google Play Store where you draw yours own design
SketchUp is made by Google, not Adobe ;)
The big BLECK box looks exactly like my first minecraft house.
looks like high end place..
I honestly feel that u can cut corners anywhere but should never on a bedroom/sleeping place. U need a comfortable place to sleep as its important to relax and gain back energy after a tiring day and a good comfortable sleep is very important for good health. If anyone says otherwise obviously never thought about comfort and practicality.
thats a nice looking Yowse
Ciao! Welcome to my ause! Here is my ause!
You can't forget the Turkish bath!!
Looks like a hair salon
a very nice conversion..but, would have liked to have heard from his wife, too!..since it was shared that he lives there *with* her. 😮
Nice design but you can't do this in the USA because you'll get fined heavily and they'll consider it illegal
INCBMX I'd like to hear more about it
Seiza Yuki you can't take a place for car parking and just convert it into housing. There are housing rules and regulations for what is and isn't a home/living space. These rules and regulations are part of the problem on why we have a housing crisis because if it was easy to covert garages into homes; more ppl would do it resulting in affordable homes. An example of this is if I had a house on a .25 of an acre and had a 2. Car garage that I wanted to convert to a tiny house or have my in laws live in, I would have to consult with my city/town to have they send out someone to make sure everything is up to living standards and fit for full time living. Also convert my garage to a tiny house would come at a high cost once the conversion is done and up to my city/town code of living.
INCBMX oh
In CA you can get permit to make garage into a liveable space. Not Sure of other states though.
Blab Blah I believe states like CA have a major problem on their hands so legislation has come up with ideas to solve their problems. Don't quote me but I thought San Diego and southern CA are the most heavily dense places in America
They should team up and design homes for the poorest of the poor in every part of the world now that they have their custom fitted dress, i mean address. ^_^
'Black Box' or cube. We all live inside a box!
Why would he make a house from garage? I mean, he can make a tiny cubicle house from scratch. Maybe it will become a tiny apartment building complex..?
Seiza Yuki there are plenty of advantages. Cheap, no need for heating, pipes are already installed... as he said its very economically
Seiza Yuki Time and Money.
Buying a garage is way cheaper than buying an apartment in Bologna (in all Italian cities actually. So making the renovation of that place probably costed him just €20-30000 tops while doing the same in an apartment (where are not many structural changes allowed) would probably have costed him six or seven times more.
Turkish bathhh
Eres my ouse
I don't know what it is about fashion, but I would never live in a place with those kinda stairs. Looking good doesn't always means right, especially if your used to the old ways. I mean, can you imagine being drunk one night and falling? Or maybe you just got out of bed and are some what of a heavy sleeper.
2:14 you know you watch to much porn hahah
the idea is to hide all the cows
Oh of course it has to be French.
There's a lot of wasted space here, so much so, that he didn't need the loft bed!
Every space can be occupied one way or another, think about a dance space, installing a ping ball table etc
Someone didn't watch the video. The "wasted" space was a design choice, as was the loft.
I don"t think it was good use of the space. He could have easily gained more floor space if he had moved the bathroom/loft to one side of the room, if floor space was his goal.
But if it was off to a side of the room, he wouldn't get his desired design which was for the black box to modulate the floor space - basically it's helping to break up the space without interrupting flow.
I just don't think the space was utilized properly. He said it himself, that he wanted an open space, putting a big black box in the middle of the room does not convey "open" or airy to me. It feels constricting.
No
big black...
BED ROOM FLOOR MATTRES :? sleeping is sleeping , buit sex is sex .. how do you do that ? small in the dept to huh lil bro?
His bedroom are the worst thing in the house
daaamn...it must suck to be poor..
Corey Slater You thought this was funny. Three months later...Not even a single like. Wow.
I thought it was nice until they show the "bedroom"...below the bathroom, gross
H Gya what exactly is gross about it?
H Gya Yes, I think I get your point, because there’s no wall separation with the kitchen either, and this is a problem for people that cook often (like me) because the bed clothes would smell like food. Not to mention if some strong smell comes from the bathroom (I also wonder if you can hear somebody peeing or pooping from upstairs) xD All these things aside, the whole idea is great, I really like the minimalist decoration and concept. It gave me some ideas for my apt, cheers
Holma Runter The smell
I'm not impressed, ANY empty space, can be converted into ANYTHING GLORIOUS, if you have the materials, resources and creativity to make it possible, this is nothing more than "a opportunity" he had of space and took advantage of it in a very nice way!...I've seen better!
MoanikaLewinsky anybody huh? Where is the video were you made anything this creative and productive? Yeah that's what I thought, probably Another fucking overweight key warrior talking greasy on here...unless you come up with something better,....shut the fuck up.
The "empty space" is a design choice. It's minimalistic. My bedroom is the same way.
MoanikaLewinsky You sound like a jackass.
