- When snow chains are required, truckers must put them on before proceeding up or down a grade.
I wasn't expecting snow chains to be required on Cabbage Hill today! I knew it was snowing, but didn't think it was snowing enough to require snow chains before descending.

I do this every winter :) But there is no "Chain Required" laws here (Exept when there is convoys going over the mountains due to snow storms). It is otherwise up to the driver to decide when to use chains. But if you choose to not use chains and go of the road, you can be a heap of trouble. I'f you're too light, you wont get traction without snow chains, and if you're too heavy, you lose too much speed uphill without snow chains. So better safe than sorry.
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Rick, ya got yourself a new sub. I'm a P&D driver for XPO in Westchester cnty NY. Did a 3 week stint with Swift last year, my first trucking job. Drove all over the country in those 3 weeks, I enjoyed it. Things didn't work out there so I went local with XPO and it's going great, getting experience , good pay, bennies, health ins., etc. After a year I'm give it another shot doing OTR, but I want some experience first so I don't have to ride with a trainer, not doing that again. Thanks for the upload , have a good day driver!
Awesome David Remy, welcome to the adventure! After at least a couple of years total driving experience, you'll have better options for joining one of the better large OTR companies. Best of luck!
the baker truck corral in ats looks exactly the same to its real life counterpart!
It sure does! This is one of the things I really like about ATS; the accurate recreation of real trucking places.
Your simulated drives are good but I think I like the real drives more.
Thanks, I plan to release one of my IRL trucking videos each Thursday until I run out of them sometime next year.
This is the first time and I don’t know win I seen you driving a legit truck. Because it’s usually a simulator! At least from what I’ve seen anyway!
Wow; I do have over 250 real life trucking videos on my channel. Not too many in the past year, though.
Hi boomer how are you
Hey Ateeq; thanks for checking out this video.
Safe driving Boomer
Thanks Charles; although I don't do this kind of driving these days.
