- I got to briefly try the TTS Twin Supercharged Audi R8 last year.. now I'm back for more. I get to road test the car properly and fully take advantage of those 750 horses!

Jeez,i remember i was in a stock 4.2 R8 as a passenger,and that felt super-fast,cant imagine how this drives.
The nice thing is it will drive just like the std car, it has no foibles.

I would love to have a drive of that thing!! The V10 R8's can put out 2000hp with a twin turbo kit , I can't imagine what that must be like 😲 excellent video Jack 🖒😊
The 2000hp twin turbo V10 R8's (and Lamborghini Huracans) have completely rebuilt engines and cost over $150,000 'just' for the twin turbo kit and installation (not including the car itself).
The highest horsepower than can be attained from a bolt-on twin turbo (where the engine is 'not' rebuilt) on even the newest R8 is just under 1000hp.

mk3whitewide yep, recently drove an Aventador and it did feel a touch quicker but not much. And that was probably down to engine noise and drama! Thank for watching

Ok. So it seems, a longer final drive ratio is needed.
This beast might do a potentially 240+ mph.
Was thinking a 7th gear. But as you say, lower gears are not needed.

Nice vid. That's a bit of beast isn't it. In terms of an alternative what about a modified GTR? Stage 4 or 5 upgrades by Litchfield? Got to be similar ballpark in terms of cost and performance. Any chance of doing a comparison?
A GTR is a good shout and I would love to.. but always hard getting cars from two separate sources in the same place, same time. If you know anyone wit a GTR like the put me in touch!
I think a st4 or 5 would be a lot of money, but even their st2 is an awesome car, but its a monster in size as well.
Looks great, esp 750bhp in a manual :-) ....If you consider a 2011 35k mile car is £55k and the kit is £25k than for a just £10k more you can pick up a 2011 35k mile McLaren 12C......Or a 911 9eXX can be had for £35k + £45k of mods so £80k for almost 1,000bhp and 0-180 in 19 seconds.....

So that’s effectively a driven turbo? Or two! Still sounds like it’s got compressor surge?
The BOV's can't dissipate the excess air when the throttles closed from high rpm so its blown back through the supercharger, which obviously is still being driven by the belt so it can't stall the impeller like a turbo would and cause horrible lag. It just makes a nice meaningful noise :)

"Twin supercharged" but shows twin turbo's in the video, and has the turbo spool and not a supercharger whine. I'm very confused.

Jack, your videos on this TTS R8 and the earlier one you did with the TTS B7 RS4 have influenced me to such an extent that I bought one of my dream cars, a B7 RS4. I haven't taken delivery of it yet, but I'm excited to see and experience what eventually will be the perfect all-rounder for me. Especially with a supercharger. Thank you again for posting this content, and keep doing what you love. It REALLY does influence your audience!

For that kind of money... Elise/Exige k20 conversion, rb26dett conversion, tuned gtr, ruf 996 turbo, 9ff, tuned Ford mustangs, tuned Corvette, carlsson sl65,... So many. Just general search on 2nd hand cars europe. Any of them over this. :)
I know what you mean, i dont like AUDI'S generally but these R8's are different and as you say each to their own.. but there is definitely a place for a car like this. And it does drive well! by the way, there is no way you would get a RUF 997 turbo for £60k.. not a proper one in any case!

Why do you tar all VAG's with the same brush. It's like saying you don't like a particular singer when he sings ballards and rock. Some songs are great and some are not, same with all makes of everything, as it were. There are good and bad of everything.
