This Patient Waited 9 YEARS And Lost 95% of His Bone! “It Was Too Late”

  • This patient came into my office in 2013. I recommended the #LANAP laser treatment for gum disease. He decided not to get treated.
He came back to my office just the other day... 9 years later, and he had lost almost all the bone in his jaw due to gum disease.
If he decided to take action back in 2013 he probably could have saved his teeth. Now he has lost so much bone that his only choices are dentures or dental implants.
Take care of your real teeth while you have them! A healthy mouth is a healthy body.

Gum disease is a parasitic infection. The parasites get into your gums and destroy the bone overtime. Sometimes it takes decades other times in only a few years you could suffer massive bone loss. Gum disease is the #1 cause of tooth loss!

Dr. Nemeth, this may sound exaggerated but I've been needing a top side molar (6th tooth from top front tooth to the left) extracted for a few years now although Ive been to the dentist this particular tooth needs to be surgically extracted and finding someone who even takes my insurance (medicaid) is difficult but I can feel that the gum and tissue around it is swollen and I'm having nonstop headaches and sometimes sharp chest pains, also pressure on that side of my head. I suffer from headaches and migraines but this is different and I really believe I have an infection that has traveled in my body including my brain possibly. I get sick and can't put on weight although I eat fine. I'm 39 and I'm really stressed about leaving my family behind and something is wrong but I read that people are often misdiagnosed and not given the right antibiotics that can penetrate the brain to cure that infection. Im terrified that because I have medicaid that I may not get the care I believe I'am seriously in need of. Is it possible another dentist can consult with you? I'm in florida. Please tell me what to do. I don't want to die.

When making implants for patients which lost most of alveolar bone substance, it is a common procedure to rebuild jaw bone with the well known "bone concrete" of PFR technique. There are some few documentations of PFR-bone-cement application around living teeth. So in this case, would an PFR-bone-cement operation to be imaginable ? It may be, that bone concrete cannot generate a fiber holding apparatus between bone an root. But when you claim that Lanac treatment of periodontitis can induce up crowing bone, which realize a new reconstructed alveolar pocket. Why this cannot be done with PFR-bone-concrete as standard procedure for healing recessions and such cases, which you showed in this video ?

One method that dentists use is measuring periodontal pockets. Pockets of only 2 or 3 mm depth are generally not of concern. Deeper pockets are often of concern. X-rays are often used to see if bone is being damaged or lost. When teeth come loose it often means that the bone supporting the teeth has been damaged. If you can get a periodontal pocket depth chart from your dentist it will give you a pretty good idea of where your major problems are. The phase contrast microscope and DNA tests for specific pathogens are some other methods that dentists can use to see where you are at.
