Batmobile was based on one of these. Rare, small town neighbor had a butterscotch colored one.

One my most favorite Lincolns from the '50s. A friend of mine has a light blue 4-door (for sale), (but I wish it was a 2-door), and the feature that I love on the car is the trunk lock detail, instead of the 'starburst' as your car has, his car has this knights head or helmet with a full-face visor that hinges up to reveal the lock to insert the trunk key. You will NEVER find a "novel" feature on any of the newer cars today. I currently own 6, '60s-era MOPARs. ...and that '65 Chrysler 300 that you have, if it were a 300 L letter car, you would have had an "L" in a circle, right in the middle of that red cross in the grill that would illuminate at night with the parking lights. Mercedes would copy this on their cars back in 2018 or '19, not sure about the year(s) because I was pissed they copied it.

If that battery tray is the only rust, that is a score. Plus I know a guy that can help out with that.

In the movie The Brothers Rico that I watched this morning and Richard Conte was driving a brand new black one just like yours but black and very shiny. If you have a chance to watch the movie then you will see it within I think the first hour of the movie.

Long story. I bought a 4 dr. Looked just like yours. In 1973, A guy in Wellesley Mass. Had it for sale. Me and my girlfriend went to look at it. Wellesley is a money 💰 town. He had his Mom's backyard filled with cars. And she was screaming at him to sell them or else. I got it for $50.00, plus he threw in a set of jumper cables . As the battery was not to good. Got it back to Brockton. But had to make stops. As the radiator leaked . . I drove this car for 2 years. Even to Quebec Canada. Back then. A local AM station WRKO. Did a 50s Sock Hop . We piled into.the 57. And went. My Girlfriend. Tootsie Palmariello. Took pink chalk. And made beautiful flames down both sides. Here are the problems I encountered with this car. The power brakes were terrible. And the vacuum wipers were worse. But the biggest problem was the pushrods. I had backfire . Tail pipe. And carb. And constantly needed to adjust the push rods. They are brittle. And the cups break. I got plenty out of a junkyard. But same . They would break. I even made homemade ones. And if I remember right. Used some from.a Studebaker. That I shortened with a hack saw to fit. . In the end I put a rod through the block. I was young and being dumb. These cars are nice. Look so cool. But they are NOT made for high revs ,, Just nice old slow driving , slow eccelaration. Never had any issues with transmission. And also. If you are not awear , George Barris Batmobile, is a combination of the custom Lincoln Futura and 57 Lincoln Premiere. Look at CZcams. LiNCOLN Futura prototype for the Batmobile. Your 57 Primere is hiding in There. 😊 Holy Pushrods Batman, the Penguin stole one of Your hub caps. 😢

Great story! Thanks for sharing! I’ve heard about the pushrods being a big problem with these engines, so I plan on seeing about having custom made ones that aren’t brittle. I plan on upgrading the braking system throughout just because of where I live. Please check out my latest videos to see how she turns out!
