  • Hello!
I have started a new paper pad project and am using the beautiful Mint Julep 12x12 pad from Colorbok. Today I decided to make some A2 envelopes! I show to make them with and without an envelope punch board.

This is a great idea! I really like the idea of matching cards and envelopes. I recently had an "aha" moment when I realized that I could cut up all those single sided cardstock weight printed papers, from paper pads, that I don't like, to use on the inside of my cards!! I tend to use a lot of colored cardstock bases for my cards and always had to cut up white cardstock inserts. I cut up a ton of those papers and now have a stock ready to go! I also recently used the as the backing for Quilt cards -my latest obsession! I got the idea from May May Made it, and love the way they turn out. I also made a bunch of random, patchwork style using the thousand border strips I've saved! Haha! Thanks for all your great tips! :)

Sounds like fun! I'm glad you found a way to use those papers you don't really love! That's the hardest part about collections/paper pads. You always seem to end up with those hard to use ones.

Thanks for this video. I’m sure I’ll be referring back to it again and again.

Love this. I have lots of pads of paper I am trying to use up. This will make it much quicker. Thank you. You are very inspiring.

Great idea! Not only using the thinner paper but using the thinner paper that is white on the reverse side.

Yes! I don't really love mailing patterned envelopes, so that's why I did my pattern on the inside. Still gives added interest but makes the envelope easier to read for the post office.😃

Beth, when WeR first put out their envelope punch board, they realized some of the measurements were wrong, they made a new guide that was corrected. I printed it out. You could just google it, I’m sure. I love the idea of matching the card with its envelope. Great tutorial.

Thank you! I'm glad WRMK realized that their measurements were a bit off! I'll have to hunt for the new guide.

Great idea making envelopes with thin paper. I just made a 6x6 envelope and it was a bit bigger than I wanted. Thanks for the punch board tips.♥️

I've got this paper pad. I'm going to use your ideas for using this paper up. Envelopes is a great idea to go with the cards. Thank you.

Would love that pad! Coral and Turquoise is a favorite color combo of mine. Such pretty envelopes. I'd probably cut all my envelopes first, then make the cards! I cut my paper at
8 1/2" square. That's what my charts says on my punch board, then 1st score is at 3 3/4". I heard not too long after I bought it that some of the measurements were off. WRMK was going to send out a replacement chart sticker that customers with maybe the older boards could place on their board base. But I haven't had any issues with my chart instructions.

This pad is gorgeous! I'm glad I cut envelopes out of all of the full sheets. I have plenty of scraps left to make cards!!😃

Great video, Beth! I have made envelopes from paper that was gifted to me that I thought was too thin to use for cards. It works great! Thanks for reminding me of this idea to use up those thin papers.

Thank you, Linda! I will definitely have to remember this. I think I have at least one more pad with thin paper somewhere in my stash.

Thank you! I think I can find some of this thin pattern paper that has been waiting to be of good use! I also purchase a heftier copy paper that will make nice envelopes because the nicer quality ones are quite pricey. Envelopes is not where I want my monies to go. Right? Thank you, Beth, well done!!

    • @BourbonCreekCrafts
      @BourbonCreekCrafts  Před rokem

I think a heavier copy paper would also work. I agree that you don't want to spend all your money on the envelopes when the cards are so much more fun!😃

The instructions on that punch board are so confusing! I have a video on using it because Nonie passed it over the fence and asked for a video. 😂💙💙💙

I always end up tearing the paper when i score them for envelopes. My hand is too heavy I guess.
