I agree whole heartedly! I sometimes feel guilty buying a pad of paper because I KNOW I won't use some of it on cards. (Do you wonder if the craft company does that on purpose? Putting in a couple of ugly papers?) Now I know I can make use of more of the pad by making envelopes. It seems to me that even the unattractive papers can be used for an envelope and look pretty good!

I recently revisited this video to brush up on making envelopes. It is great when I run out of premade packs of cards and envelopes, which is how I usually make my cards. But when I need one and don;t have one it is great to know how to make my own. Thanks again Natasha.
These envelopes are EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. No complicated measurements or templates (although the 8-1/2” measurement did produce a slight anxiety 😂😂😂. I hate numbers, but I think I can remember 8-1/2” square. That’s really simple. Now I’ll never have to worry whether I have an envelope to fit my card. Another GENIUS Natasha tutorial. Love it!!!
I love this video as well and like you, I am not very good with numbers so yes, basic 81/2 square works for me. I tend to 'eyeball' everything 😂

What an excellent way to use pattern paper that is a bit thin or just doesn't seem to go with anything! I have the punch board also, but find it's not always the perfect fit and I have to adjust things. This is more efficient and you offer 3 different styles - you are the best!!!

Thank you Natasha! Your method uses a lot less paper than an envelope punchboard! I use the punchboard for small to standard size envelopes but for larger cards this is a great way to do it or you end up having to buy huge paper sheets at great expense when the punchboard requires anything bigger than 12" x 12" ... I've had to resort to wallpaper on occasion! So why on earth didn't I think of this?!? What a lifesaver you are :)

Oh!!! I wish I had seen this video awhile ago.I have saved this video . I needed any envelope for several cards cause all the ones I had did not fit the card. Needless to say,I had some business yellow type I had and decorated and gave it to her. Loved it anyway.lol Now instead of doing this to use up my scraps pieces, I'm going to make up a bunch of envelopes to have on hand,and I can use papers with designs on them that I don't know what to do with or don't like..design can go on inside. Love your videos,learn so much and you use minimum items. Thanks for sharing.

What an excellent way to use my stash of paper! I have been collecting paper for quite a while and a few months ago, a friend gave me about 300 sheets of patterned paper. Now I know what to do with those large pattern ones.

At the local university, they have a Resource Depot, a recycling center of sorts. Mostly, it was set up for teaching students to get items to use in their classrooms for cheap. Businesses and individuals donate things that are usable but but they don't need any longer. In the Depot, there is an area where you can buy paper by the pound and I've gotten some nice off-cuts of cardstock at times. They make great cards, but don't follow the normal sizes you would expect to find. I've wanted to make them into cards, but didn't have envelopes to match. Now, I know how I can make them.
