Harley was the real deal, he was trained in wrestling old-school, his initial training came from the Zbyszko brothers who were legit stars back in the 1920s, and over the years worked with shooters like Verne Gagne, Karl Gotch, Billy Robinson, and Antonio Inoki. He could wrestle, he could fight, and he could take hits. His only detriment in something like MMA would have been that most of legit fights were not fought with rules, pretty sure Dana White would have frowned on his fighters popping eyeballs and punching people in the throat.
Ppl don’t know how gangster pro wrestling actually used to be. You really had to be tough and back that shit up and hold it down and gate keep the shit from ppl who would ruin it for everyone. Ppl would get fucked up for trying to go into other territories.
Harley, Andre, and Haku were the 3 guys in the business you did not want to mess with. Harley and Haku because of their absolute raw and ruthless tactics, Andre because, well come on its andre
Harley must have been like skin pulled over granite. I imagine like my Grandpa well until his old age. That solid build that comes from hard physical work over decades. Only my Grandpa was a gentle man.
Funny how much joe rogan has trashed pro wrestling before but ric flair straight up saying he would have been king of the ufc with no training. Joe rogan didnt challenge that statement once.

Yeah, there's a difference. Beating up the toughest guy in a bar in Regina is not like beating a trained fighter.
Surprised Joe Rogan hadn't heard of Harley Race, he was one the most famous wrestlers ever.
