    Hi, I have a question, would houseplants benefit from silica? I have alocasias and calatheas and wonder if they'll benefit from it. If so, how much per gallon of water? Also, can we mix it with houseplant fertilizer? Thanks!

    What's up Matt, I have an odd question. What is the CES Bulletproof Si smell like? lol. I have a bottle but it sort of smell like those ammonia sticks that you put under someones nose to wake them up. I had a bottle of Uncle Johns that smelled like that but I threw it away because it usually smells sweet. I don't know what the Bulletproof is suppose to smell like though. Is my bottle bad? I haven't been using it.
    Anyways cheers, I always dig your videos

    • @lontoc5840
      @lontoc5840 Před 3 lety

      Clouding means there is a chemical reaction occurring. Either too much is being used, or it wasn’t added as the first ingredient to your RO.

  • @Knuckleprod
    @Knuckleprod Před 3 lety +5

    If you're growing in soil, just ad vermiculite instead of these silica liquids, then you have all the silica you need and a better soil structure

    • @tmoneyg4811
      @tmoneyg4811 Před 3 lety

      Yea I use a 50% peat 50% vermiculite lime and pelletized gypsum

    • @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517
      @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517 Před 3 lety +1

      Vermiculite holds a lot of water though. I would recomend (in microbe-rich soil grow) rice hulls and horsetail dust (or watering with horsetail extract). Both contain Silicic Acid. In fact, horstail has the highest Si content of all plants, 2-5% pure Si in a fresh plant. Btw, rice hulls are better for aeration than perlite. They're light, hydrophobic and don't take up physical space.

    • @engell3707
      @engell3707 Před 3 lety

      It’s great. I always use 3-5% DE in the soil. It retains 10x more water than any other soil amendment and is 90% silica, not 40. It also has trace minerals. But, It’s pH is around 8 so that’s it’s only handicap.

    Is salicic acid the same as salicylic acid?

    • @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517
      @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517 Před 3 lety

      Salicic acid doesn't exist lol. If you meant Silicic Acid (= the only form of [Si] absorbable by plants) than yes, it's different. However, Salicylic acid is also beneficial to plants - FOLIAR ONLY, 20-30 mg/L once per week.
