    Tip 10, I find that when a tank matures, in a low-tech tank, plants that didn't work in the beginning may work now. Great video! Can't wait to see the next Studio update👍

    Knowing the PH of a fish tank is very important. For instance the water in Los Angeles is ph. 7 or 8 straight from the tap. There are a lot of beautiful aquarium plants that like a soft slightly acid water. There are conditioners you can put in your tap water that do not shock new plants you want to put in your aquarium. All plants go through a shock when they transplanted. Some times growing them in small clay pots and just moving the pots around is better.

    Super easy plants are the best for low tech. Dwarf Sagitaria, anubius, amazon swords, java fern and moss, hygrophila, and most valisenaria. All of these plants look great and require very little to grow aside from planting them properly and a good substrate. My tank has all of these plants and they all do great, no fertilizers or root tabs. All I did was cap dirt under gravel and sand.

    I just got my first plants in and as soon as I put them in the tank my fish decided they were food. So what I did was place a glass flower vase upside down over the plants so the fish can't mess with it while it's getting established putting out more roots. While it looks kinda funny now I plan to remove it after I see new leaves and stems starting to grow.

    I have a question for anyone who knows the answer to it I have a planted aquarium and I noticed that it looked like sludge was coming out of my filter then I opened it up and it basically had a layer of slimy dirt/mud covering it my substrate is gravel so I know the filter didn’t suck it in and I can’t think of anything else that could’ve caused that does anyone have an idea of what it might be and if so how to stop it from happening again

    Great video! 😎
    My local plant shop has a massive supply and selection of plants. The reason I don't buy them though, is because they have pest snails.
    (1🐌 = 1,000🐌
    they're asexual)
    Some of my tanks I don't mind snails, but most of them I do.
    Do you know how to quarantine plants for snails and/or everything else that might be harmful or evasive?

    • @joshthomas2841
      @joshthomas2841 Před 3 lety +1

      Might not help much, but you can buy tissue culture plants. these won’t have snails. otherwise you could try manually removing snails and any eggs before adding plants

It'll melt back when i eventually put them in the tank. But im hoping that the £50 worth of plants i've purhcased now, will eventually turn into alot more plants for the future saving me alot of money.
