The gadget at 7:00 is for steaming eggs, it's equipped with legs to keep it above the water. So filling the pot to the top and boiling the eggs with the gadget in the pot defeats the purpose. I use one of those collapsible vegetable steaming baskets which is better because, obviously, you can steam other things than eggs in it.

We have always eaten poached eggs since I was a little kid. We love them with salt and pepper. Or if you are like my husband, with chili powder sprinkled on them.
