Never thought I would live to see a truck priced over $100k. These trucks are insane but if you have deep pockets, go for it. 😎. Nice review.
You wish. Raptor R 2024 is 120k MSRP and dealers charge you 30k to 50k above MSRP.
If I was able to afford either.. I'm going with the Trx.
A less capable, slower truck for the same money? Illogical
Ford Lightning was first supercharged V8 in a pickup
Lightning v8 supercharged and the Chevy cyclone v6 supercharged started it all with fast trucks capable of a lot💪🏽
Great Video 🥹 That TRX is my Absolute Dream Truck 🤩 I look at content on it everyday and I would love to experience the joy this truck brings in everyday life. I pray I get one soon.
U realize what losers GM are for never building an LT4 Silverado..
GM=Grampa Motors
GM never competes with other American brands anymore. No Silverado ZL1 to compete with these, no k5 blazer to compete with the wrangler and bronco. They prefer small economy cars now. Damn shame I'd buy a retro styled new k5 blazer immediately

Nice review keep up with the good work Ben Hardy
Nothing to settle....most of the rest of us either cannot or will not afford either....but I would probably go with the R.....🤷♂️
trx has such a nice interior
But dodge makes far less superior vehicles
It’s alright, pretty overrated by most TBH
@Ben Hardy: The TRX had a rendering of the TRX making the Raptor extinct under the hood. Looks like the TRX has died first after all.
The Raptor is about to outlive Dodge (the entire brand) and possible Ram itself given what Stellantis is doing.
Thank you for this video in the market now for one
Love the new Raptor's design and exterior lighting, but the TRX has a way better interior, way more luxury features, better motor, better sound, and way better transmission.
ford has a better suspensions though. trx is several geenrations behind compared to what ford has suspension wise.
Except it doesn’t have a better motor, tech is way behind and it doesn’t touch the fox suspension. Raptor is an off-road purpose truck and the trx tried to be.
Everything is great on the TRX but the crap front Axles
TRX doesn’t have a way better interior. Better door panels maybe and that’s it
Also the Predator/Carnivore is FAR superior to the Hellcat.
Just as the Coyote is FAR superior to the Gen III Hemi.
Both are awesome trucks. If the Raptor wasn’t priced 30k over sticker it would be the winner. However you can buy a 23 TRX in the 90’s. Got to go TRX until R prices get under control. For the interior it isn’t even close the TRX is way nicer.
Well ford scaled back r production from last year. Best I’ve found is 20k ADM for the R
These stupid dealerships are making shit way up, they are a huge problem. Anyone that buys from them and supports that bullshit is a major problem.
@@Adam-hq7ob20m is amazing. I’m in Cali but I’ve been calling all over. In Cali, we had some sell for over 200k. Dealer I bought my 19 raptor from had an auction and someone bid over 200k. Shit is wild in Cali.
@@gannethackett9323so what are we supposed to do? Just not get the vehicle that we want?
@@joemomma707 no, but you shouldn’t buy it from a dealer with a insane markup, it ruins the market for everyone else.
for me it comes down to which dealership offers the best warrenty
Here in California I seen way more TRX than Raptors, can’t believe so many people driving 100k trucks like they are pancakes.
I see about 3-5 raptors a day, and i barely see a trx a day here just driving on 101
@@NoonMight sorry I meant I see more TRX than Raptor R.
No shit. Betas at ford produce the v6 raptor still. Very limited production of the v8. That’s why the mark ups are insane.
I bet very few of them take it off-road. My Titan Pro-4X seen more dirt than these pavement princess!
@@OGtruthserum why are you poor fucks always worried about what people do with the trucks you can’t afford? I’ll never understand. My raptor is fully modded for off-roading. I am pretty much over off-roading in my raptor but my raptor still is equipped. Most people buy all of these vehicles for daily use. I bought an x3 rs turbo rr for off-roading. Raptor or TRX can’t come close to my x3 when it comes to offroading. What’s your deal? Made cuz poor?
Please tell me the name of this dealership and the state!!!
Please
I want to buy a raptor r at MSRP too.
Vehicles I currently own:
2019 whippled mustang 5.0 pp1 10r80
2019 raptor supercrew
2021 Trackhawk
2014 evo x gsr
2020 can am rs turbo rr
The Trackhawk is extremely addicting. I literally cannot get enough of it. I’ve had the 5.0 longer and I have double the miles on the hawk. It’s just too much fun.
The raptor is lame since the betas at ford put a v6 in it.
I’ve been looking for a raptor r since before its release. I’m in Cali but I’ve called all over. The lowest I’ve been able to get the markup to is 25k.
Can you please tell me what dealer he bought his from so I can go buy one?
Thank you!!
Both are phenomenal vehicles! Having owned both they each have their own intangibles that are better than the other. In whole you really cannot go wrong with either truck.
However, I will give a slight nod to Ford for not abandoning us vehicle enthusiasts!
Technically the trx lives, but it just won't have a V8 anymore. The base raptor doesn't either, so it doesn't matter too much.
Are you insane? The gen 2 raptor should have never been a v6 to begin with. I own a 2019 raptor supercrew. It’s an ecoboost. The engine shuts off at a stop. Unless you press the button to turn the feature off. You have to turn it off everytime you drive. Why the fuck is that even a thing in a raptor? The bronco is not a v8. They are still producing the v6 raptor, which makes it harder to get the v8 at MSRP. They didn’t include a launch control in the raptor r because they are a bunch of betas. I own a Trackhawk as well. Dodge went out with a bang. I am buying the raptor r because it looks flawless.
I think they both sound amazing. I dont think you could go wrong with either one or these trucks.
TRX is still #1 the Raptor R is great but it doesnt look very special or unique like the TRX, the Raptor r looks just like a standard Raptor. The trx also has a nicer interior and the engine sounds a lot better.
The TRX looks like a widebody Tradesman.
The Raptor R is superior to the TRX across the board.
The fact that the TRX hasn’t been heard from since the Raptor R release already settled it!!! Raptor will always have this segment locked up.
English?
@@dawsonsschittcreek5395yes speak it
I saw a RAM TRX same colour red. And that is just a beast on the road
When the TRX was around $80k it was a clear winner, now I'd pick the Raptor for the money!
Agreed 👍. I think both vehicles are honestly a bit overpriced nowadays. But Raptor for the $. If you don’t actually need over 700 HP for daily driving then maybe even the V6 or the new Ram high output might be a better choice for most people.
Yea, when I bought my 22 TRX level 2 fully loaded it was 86k. Now the same one is 124k
Even with the ADM on the Raptor R it's still worth it over the TRX because of how much more limited they are. I see a handful of TRX a week where I live. I've seen 2 Raptor R's since the release last year and they both go to my Gym.
@azzurrin889 I ordered a 2022 TRX level 1 from a dealer in Kentucky at 4% undrr invoice and it was $74k. Granted it wasn't loaded to the max, but still a hell of a truck for the money. I am now back in a 2024 V6 raptor.
I want both trucks
TRX for now since they are not asking $130k+ if you like the hellcat engine and like the whine like me, then get the TRX. Best scenario is to get both but I am really loving my TRX.
Yes I would love the Raptor R, but when all the dealers are asking from $30K to $50K over MSRP, I'll take the TRX for $8k under MSRP
Plenty of dealers selling R's for sticker...just need to look..
@@scottcolquitt2073 I willing to make a road trip, where you found some that sell at sticker? Thanks in advance
@@scottcolquitt2073you are mentally challenged. I own a 2019 mustang 5.0 pp1, 2019 raptor supercrew, and a 2021 trackhawk. I know how to get the best deal on these speciality vehicles. Unless you work for Ford and are a big dog, or a youtuber, you cannot get a raptor r at MSRP. I’ve met with dealers. I’ve made a ton of calls. I’ve hit up my connections. You are crazy for making a false claim like that. You give me information to one dealer that will sell me a raptor r and I will give you 10k. I’ll wait.
@@badgambit7332you might want to hit up Elon Musk becuase there isn’t one in the U.S. The only way you can get a raptor r at MSRP is if you are a CZcamsr or work for ford and are a big dog.
Ford is all Woke, most of their buyers are as well. So this is totally normal.
They're marking up the TRXs here in Ohio since they're almost gone. I've seen them going for $130K+. Between the Raptor R, and the TRX prices, my 10 year old FX4, plus my $200 '03 Sonata GLS hoopty are it for me.
You've got the Raptor R, Raptor V6 then everything else!!
For long term ownership.
Which one will fall apart first?
Which one has better built quality?
Which one is more reliable?
Both are reliable and won't fall apart since none of the current ones that exist has any outstanding issues that's common across the entire line up and bith engines are proven. Only thing people can actually comment on is build quality but in general they are both very durable and well built vehicles, it's all an opinion on what you consider quality because actual quality relies on the strength and practicality and usefulness of the build, not how expensive and pretty the materials are
Raptor is by far better built.

@@mysticrythems2112 Hey boomer. Don’t forget to take your medicine today.
@gannethackett9323 Are you meaning reality?
Hey grasshopper land here!
Honestly my biggest gripe with the raptor R is u can’t really tell with a Quick Look that it’s a Raptor R often just looks like a regular raptor. Where as it’s unmistakable when u see a TRX. My town has probably 5 Trxs atm and I see them fairly often. I’m sure there’s a Raptor R but with all the other raptors in town it’s not easy to distinguish. I’ve seen the Raptor R in the wild before but had to drive right up next to it to see the little 8s that are all over the rear
Nah for me all rams look alike especially when it comes to the ram rebel and Trx they have similar grills and interior just badges and athstic wise yea on the outside you’ll notice but a tremor and raptor look way different the bumper is all custom winch to a more compared to a Baja more bumper style and the grill suspension a lot more different besides interior ofc all most the same interior but badges matter
@@lil_pe3p that may be true. But the most distinctive full size truck is the Trx ur not guessing when u see one
@@keithhunt3437 nah it looks like a rebel with wide body kit and ofc the marker lights the Raptor is easily unmistakable with its big sticker decals and wide body and marker lights plus its hood scoop
This guys nuts^
@@lil_pe3p so what difference is there?? Stickers? The thing u don’t have to get 😂
Power tailgate in the raptor, but you hold the hood open with a hockey stick😮
Very similar trucks... but trx better overall... That raptor looks dated. If you want a real man truck, then that would be the trx. If you like a truck that drives more like a small car feel, then raptor is your choice. Great review!
Im a fan of ford
TRX ALL DAY ❤
Looks better
It's obvious in the acceleration clip the Raptor got to the highway sooner but with this onesided take any true comparison has to be side by side with both lined up for a drag race anything else is speculative. So in the end the decision of best is based on MSRP??? What!! Ok forget about performance and ability and such like. Ooh boy.
Ford Ranger Raptor might be a good option for long term ownership. Not expensive, can do the offroad and baha driving and is a sizable daily
I like raptors so I will go with raptors
Trx, heavier duty iron block will out las the aluminum plasma lined BS.
Wayyy better transmission. From a roll maybe 10sp is technically better but I had that trans in my 2020 Roush f150 and hated it!
I love my R - I've had all 3 gens & this one is everything I've wanted . Had the GT500 with same engine & kicking my self for selling. Wife wasn't having 100K truck & car .....

The Raptor R has a brake actuated LSD in the rear, compared to the TRX open rear differential only. The Raptor R is a way better daily driver.
Plus, only the RaptoR has the 2wd setting !!
Theres nothing to settle. The only positive the trx had was that it was cheaper. Its now 10k+ more expensive AND discontinued...
both trucks are awesome
Raptor allllll day for so many reason
Like?
It has better suspension, that’s really about it. Ford’s response was a joke, the best they could do was add a taller hood and a few orange R’s. Even the name was rushed, Raptor X would’ve been more fitting. The interior was a joke on the 23’. But the best part is; Ford thought 700 HP would be enough but realized it wasn’t actually enough, so they absolutely screw over the 23 owners by adding 20 more HP to the 24’ year version. It’s like a frantic woman screaming to get out of a burning house 😂 will Ford still be adding shit onto the Raptor R in 10 years that it should’ve had at first? Like oh wait, we didn’t actually respond to this part of the TRX, let’s make a new thing 🤡
@@gannethackett9323ram quality is shit. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about
@@gannethackett9323 LOL that was literally the dumbest assessment I have ever heard. First and foremost Ford and the Raptor was FIRST and was around an entire decade before Ram decided to show up to the party and guess what.....Ram is already done and gone, shot their load and gone. Secondly, the Raptor R was not rushed Ford was well aware Ram was coming out with their TRX and began the changes to have an extreme level Raptor version to maintain their dominance in this market they knew they were going to use the GT500 engine for this. Third, the 700 hp it came out with was more than enough and they knew this as well since every third party testing (road n track, motor trend, and private testing, etc.) all confirmed it was in fact faster, lighter and far superior at high speed and desert running there are countless videos and testing that prove this, does it blow it out no but it still is faster, oh and the Raptor R does all this with 37" tires. For 2024 like any other vehicle they get updates and improvements and one of those was a 20 hp bump, upgraded fox shocks, interiors, exteriors, etc. and unlike the Ram TRX Ford still will be adding shit to and upgrading the Raptor because they sell them and people want them and they own the market in this segment all while the TRX is long gone and done, remember it WAS IN FACT Ram chasing and copying Ford when they finally decided to show up for a year or two and attempt to compete.
@@jasonmeldrum7686 hey boomer, you wrote a whole essay in the comments. I’m not reading that. The Hellcat engine is superior to the GT500 engine, go watch any youtuber talk about it. Motor trend literally had a GT500 break down 3 times during a drag race against a redeye.
Last thing I’ll say is imagine being Ford and ignoring their community asking for a V8 Raptor, until Ram literally has to make a supertruck to force Ford into doing what their community has been asking for a decade… ouch. Ford is honestly just a shitty brand and doesn’t care about their community until their sales are directly affected 😬
I keep my bronco raptor
Shoe cobblers do amazing work.😉
Raptor looks amazing ❤❤❤❤
Thoughts: Nissan Titan Warrior had a cooler interior design.
TRX FTW
What does it win in? Because the R stomps the TRX in any competition you can dream up…and it isn’t close
I like the TRX body better because it’s the widest RAM 1500 which shows RAM trying to differentiate with Rebel but the Raptor R have the same body width with all F150 they just added wider plastic fenders which shows that Ford save money and time by just using the same factory molding equipment. You can lift regular F-150, change the grill to Raptor grill, add wide fenders then you have a 100k looking truck at a glance.
It’s got bigger sheet metal and all of the width is in the suspension and frame.
If you want to be a loser go ahead lol.
Looks like Ben really likes the TRX
Raptor/R or RHO/TRX ??, I believe they "both" are great trucks.it all comes to which "one" one loves!.i for one goes for the Raptor/R coz i feel its overall design.period!

The 2024 raptor r now has more horsepower that the 2024 ram trx
There’s no replacement for displacement! 6.2 versus 5.2. No matter what they do To the 5.2 you can always modify the 6.2 to be faster.TRX all the way!
Uh, the 5.2 makes more power stock, makes more power mod-for-mod, will hold more power on the stock long-block.
The Coyote has made massively more power on all stock cylinder and block castings than the Gen III Hemi has with aftermarket blocks.
The Coyote architecture is FAR superior to the Gen III Hemi.
Let me know when a stock cylinder head casting, stock block casting, stock crankshaft Gen III Hemi make over 3000 HP or runs 6.2 @ 228 in a drag and drive street car or goes 3.9s in the 1/8 on stock castings.
The replacement for displacement is superior block strength, cylinder head/valve-train performance and superior head gasket sealing.
The Gen III Hemi isn’t even worth talking about in the same sentence as the Coyote regarding performance capability. Sorry
THE RAM TRX MADE THE RAPTOR R!!
Like always Ford invented the market and they also perfected it!
No ford made the trx
@@benjaminbrown7127If people only realized this fact
Well in reality the raptor made the trx
Its sad the TRX has gone up 30K msrp in the last 3 years.... wait till next year when Ram does what they are doing right now and dropping all their prices bc they tried to over price everything... and there has been barely any changes over the years with the TRX....Except for the "RARE" colors....scam... and dealers jack the prices up even more....Its all ridiculous
Have to say I love my TRX..
TRX looks dated. Raptor is more aggressive/ better looking
A morons 2 cents.
Exactly
I think it’s the other way around. The new Raptor headlights look like a gen 1 and gen 2. The Raptor’s body style is more rigid and has a square like cab. The TRX has more aggressive free flowing designs and the cab has no complete 90 degree angles like the Raptor R. The Raptor R looks like a lego set to me, the TRX looks like a alien material body.
@@gannethackett9323agreed. The raptors new grill is a step backwards
Kudos to the Raptor R it is a "Try-hard". TRX is dead now and died with honor as FCA (Stellantis) could have placed the Demon engine in the TRX.
