    COMMENT: What is your opinion on the complex legacy of Lee Radziwill - and the Bouvier sisters overall?

    • @omarko9708

      Lee Radziwill is the elegance itself. She is the appropriate title holder of NYC socialite, among Gloria Vanderbilt and others. Apart from her very famous sister Jackie, Miss Radziwill created that photogenique style of a fashion icon, that made the paparazzi starve for more photos.

    I always thought Jackie was odd looking. Her Sister Lee was so glamorous.

      It's true. Lee had lovely delicate features. Dare I say? Jackie had eyes too widely set, and large, masculine hands and feet. Cecil Beaton (the famed photographer) wrote in his diaries in February of 1968: “She (Jackie) is still the most photogenic person in the world, *infinitely more so than her infinitely more beautiful sister, Lee Radziwill.*

    Jackie and her sister Lee were half Irish through their mother but they didn’t care to acknowledge it. Lee is an Irish name, their mothers ancestry came from Cork. They preferred to present themselves as french nobility.

      @forward_ever_ever2595 Před 17 dny +4

      Definitely not French nobility. They worked for French nobility...Napoleon Bonoparte & his brother

      Lee is an English name derived from the Old English name “Leah” meaning “ wood clearing “ Nothing remotely Irish about it

    What an intriguing history lesson I didn't know any of this. All I knew about Lee Radziwill is that she was the mother of one of the RHONYC. These stories about Old Money aristocracy are Tea for the Fever.Thanks!

      @@maryanncarine2075 OH….Thanks for the information, daughter in law. Maybe she thought of her as a Mom. Didn’t remember her name either. Carol the one that fell out with Bethany and left the show right?

      @@vueme805 Yes. She wrote a tender memoir of her relationship with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and JFK Jr. ("What Remains: a Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love .) She was very close with Carolyn who was married to Anthony Radziwill (Lee's son.) Anthony was John's cousin and probably closest friend. He died of cancer two weeks after John and Carolyn's tragic deaths.
