Lee Radziwill is the elegance itself. She is the appropriate title holder of NYC socialite, among Gloria Vanderbilt and others. Apart from her very famous sister Jackie, Miss Radziwill created that photogenique style of a fashion icon, that made the paparazzi starve for more photos.
It's true. Lee had lovely delicate features. Dare I say? Jackie had eyes too widely set, and large, masculine hands and feet. Cecil Beaton (the famed photographer) wrote in his diaries in February of 1968: “She (Jackie) is still the most photogenic person in the world, *infinitely more so than her infinitely more beautiful sister, Lee Radziwill.*
Jackie and her sister Lee were half Irish through their mother but they didn’t care to acknowledge it. Lee is an Irish name, their mothers ancestry came from Cork. They preferred to present themselves as french nobility.
What an intriguing history lesson I didn't know any of this. All I knew about Lee Radziwill is that she was the mother of one of the RHONYC. These stories about Old Money aristocracy are Tea for the Fever. Thanks!
@@maryanncarine2075 OH….Thanks for the information, daughter in law. Maybe she thought of her as a Mom. Didn’t remember her name either. Carol the one that fell out with Bethany and left the show right?
@@vueme805 Yes. She wrote a tender memoir of her relationship with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and JFK Jr. ("What Remains: a Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love .) She was very close with Carolyn who was married to Anthony Radziwill (Lee's son.) Anthony was John's cousin and probably closest friend. He died of cancer two weeks after John and Carolyn's tragic deaths.
Lee was a woman of Tremendous Class. She was intelligent and had tremendous abilities above many women. She was a tremendous presence in Social Circles.
So glad I found this channel. Fascinating. So many subjects that I’ve always been interested in like Jackie and Lee and Christina Onassis. Great videos.
According to Jack’s teenage lover, Jackie was staying at their holiday home during the nuclear scare and she was with Jack. Jackie claimed to refuse to leave his side but she often made up porky pies for the sake of drama.
Heck, idiot me, Lee was a princess!! Jackie O...was a cover girl!! So, Cover Gals rule? ..guess so!! Then , again, being the 1st lady of the 1st world leader aint' cheap!!
COMMENT: What is your opinion on the complex legacy of Lee Radziwill - and the Bouvier sisters overall?

I always thought Jackie was odd looking. Her Sister Lee was so glamorous.

@@mrs8792 i'd still prefer Jackie. Still beautiful, but also beauty on the inside. Maturity & strong values

Definitely not French nobility. They worked for French nobility...Napoleon Bonoparte & his brother
Lee is an English name derived from the Old English name “Leah” meaning “ wood clearing “ Nothing remotely Irish about it
@@forward_ever_ever2595 maybe 1/4 French

You have the perfect voice for storytelling.
Exquisitely presented, deeply researched, narrated by the voice of an archangel, simply shivering!!
Thank you so much Luis!
Fun fact their earlier Bouvier ancestor, whilst still in France worked for Napoleon Bonoparte's brother
The world had fallen in love with jackie and lee was just devastated and could not adjust to this fact.
Interesting that the two most influential males in Jackie’s life were dangerous and exciting men named Jack.
Thank you,love your videos.
Glad you like them!
Loved Jackie. I didn’t like Lee. She was extremely jealous of her sister. Reminds me of my jealous sister!
They were battling EACH OTHER !!? Jackie also did stuff to her as well
She shouldn' t marry Onasis.
@@carmenroxanabarsan6240 why not?

I think she did find love! What is love? Do you define it as a marriage that endures?
Hey man nice content
According to Jack’s teenage lover, Jackie was staying at their holiday home during the nuclear scare and she was with Jack. Jackie claimed to refuse to leave his side but she often made up porky pies for the sake of drama.
Lovely ladies!
Bouvier means "Cowherd" in French.
She was very beautiful.
Thank you for your interesting documentation about a High class woman.
Glad you enjoyed it!
*Am I the only one who thinks that the sisters' looks were overrated? I find neither particularly pretty.*
Maybe Jack Kennedy, wasn't the bad guy
Moneycan‘t buy happiness!
I dont think they were looking for happiness!!!!
Their love of $$$$ was far greater.!!
