Wow this is IMHO one of the best explanation I've ever watched on CZcams. Direct and super informative. No cringe jokes, no overreacting, just pure information with great clips shown.
Thanks mate, this is exactly the guidance I was looking for. As a side note I actually purchased Warhammer III first and then realised I couldn’t access large parts of the game. To their credit CA were very reasonable and gave me a refund which I then used to purchase Warhammer I. For once everyone was cool and not a dick.
Ok feel like everyone forgets shogun 2 exist which is the game that started this trend everyone loves in three kingdoms and the new Warhammer games. 😢 Shogun 2 was🔥
I've never played a total war game. Downloading Total War Warhammer right now, and expecting to be very confused! Looks complicated but fun. Great video btw :)
Bought both Warhammer 1&2, along with the Dawn of War series (I've been dabbling into Warhammer and 40k lore for the past few years). Never played the Total War series before.
got it free on epic... its smart of them to do coz if ppl get in to it for free the gonna pay for the new one Total War: WARHAMMER 3 , and i heard good things about the new game. cool thins all around.
False now they’ve created a mooching community of ppl who’ll wait until the others are free, what steam does works far better. Cause they have very low discounts so you can buy at low prices. Better to have skin in the game than no skin at all.
@@Harem__King lol this is so wrong...of course discounting helps a games' numbers in sales but nothing is more effective at getting new players into your game/series than a free trial or just an outright free download. Literally anyone can download Total War Warhammer I and as a result there's gonna be a good chunk of people playing it and enjoying the hell out of it...if you really enjoy something why would you sit around endlessly waiting for something that you're not even sure is ever going to be free? People are gonna be tempted to pay and fork out money to get the latest release... Discounting only helps sell to people who were already interested in a series or have played previous titles. No one's gonna purchase something at even a discounted price if it's not something they already know is enjoyable for them. This comment reeks of Steam shilling.
Thank you! These games are so extensive and and complicated and videos like these are so important for a gamer. Since I already have game one, I should probably look for 2 or 3 on a sale If I decide to get them.
The volume on this video is waaaay too low.. It would help greatly if the audio was balanced before uploading. Set gain +9db and add a hard limiter at -3db
Can anyone please clarify? The mode in Total War Warhammer II that unlocks "Old World" if you own TWWI: Does that include all the DLC factions from TWWI whether or not you own the DLC for that first game? Because if I can buy the first game, try it out, then buy the second, and effectively skip ever having to buy the DLC for the first game, that would be ideal!
Nah if you buy warhammer 1 you get all the base factions for that game to use in the big map [mortal empires ], all the dlc factions available will still show up as enemies in your game even if you don’t buy the dlc . The dlc basically just lets you play as them
I think it is better to get the newer games first for finding out if you like it, since they have a lot of quality of life upgrades. I also don't understand why you call the dlcs predatory. I would say they are the exact opposite (with the exception of the blood dlc). Since you get to fight against all new units and factions you are not missing anything unless you want to play them yourself, and you can get an impression of the dlcs before buying them so you can choose the ones you find interesting
Am i losing anything by playing the first one first? I heard ppl say to play warhammer 2 but i just warhammer 1 for free on twitch prime. Shud i just play the first
Losing? Of course NOT! Play it, have fun, and if you will love it and want more, get both on Steam (During the sales of course, next Steam sale should be in February)
Now that Warhammer III is out do I need to own wh3 to play immortal empires or can I just play immortal empires with just the new world and old world owning just wh 1 and 2?
This is a great review video as usual, very clear and detailed explanation. 👍 However, in the DLC section, I would disagree that you don’t need to buy any DLCs. This is because if you are 100% completionist like me, you still need to buy at least 4 DLCs + 1 Free DLC in order to get 100% achievement to finish the game.
This is just as false as can be about TWH1 being a need to buy. You do not need to buy any of the others to enjoy one of them. You can get only TWH2 or TWH3. Which have their own campaign without need for the other. Mortal/Immortal Empires is a separate campaign that is not necessary Just like any expansion is not a need. But it is an option to consider. You only need one game to start with. Any one of them are good depending on your system and budget. I recommend TWH3 best for beginners because the game has a high learning curve. TWH3 is the only one with a separate tutorial. Much better than the others. And Cathay Iron is the best faction in all of TW for beginners to learn because of their playstyle. But any of them are good and really fun. None of them are a need. It is fine to get one of them. If you want an additional expansion get it.. If you want to play the other campaign on the combined map. Get the necessary game.
I’m looking for an RTS like age of mythology to play with my friend. We like to play against bots. Any good ones come to mind? And can we do that in any Total war warhammer games?
TWW is not RTS, its Turn based strategy. Even though you can play it in multiplayer with friends but it is nothing like Age of Mythology (Love that game btw). But if you want something similar but more modern, you can play Age of Empires 4

Its worth noting that the games are currently crash-tastic, get 1 for free on on epic now... but 2 and 3 are currently having some problems, so you might wanna wait.
This is the review of first game only, this video has nothing to do with second or third entry. As for your question, no you don't need to beat first or second game to enjoy the third game. Every single game has its own separate campaign and is focused on the separate part of this world, first game is focused on an old world, which is an analog of Europe, second game is focused on a new world which is an analog of Americas and Africa, and third game is focused on East and chaos realms. Game mechanics though different is still very similar between all three games. Only time when you will need first and second game in order to enjoy the third game is if you want to play mortal empires campaign, which at the moment is not available for the third game. In this campaign basically the worlds of first second and third game will be united into one giant campaign. Until this will happen you don't need to get first and second game in order to enjoy the third to its fullest.
you play on difficulty easy? wtf.. i play always on very hard on very hard mode you have no choice than auto resolve battles, because if you play the battles the enemy gets so high advantages that you even lose with 3x bigger army.. most fun to play is Crooked Moon, Norska, and Vampire Counts

To the question whether this is worth buying, the answer is no it never is worth buying any Total War games unless you enjoy endless crashes and it's not even that the game freezes it takes out your whole PC. If you can get it free somewhere try it but definitely don't buy this game ever
