Had these on my Subaru Sti and used to go on canyon runs and they gripped good and they also grip good in wet conditions. I always recommend these.
Yeah these are good tires. The wet performance could be better but for the price you can’t beat them
You're spot on about wet performance, which I would rate as average. Other than that, Indy 500s is a great tire. I would buy it again also without hesitation. Nice review and thanks for sharing.
Yeah great bang for buck. Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much for the review bro.... especially the comparison with the pilot super sports..... just perfect..... thx!!
You are welcome
Really good review touching on all the vital topics. Thanks!
Thanks
Fair review. I'm gonna try these out. Good job!
Thanks. For the price they are good.
Thanks for the review man! I’m going to pick them up tomorrow.
Thank you. You will like them
Good all around review, non biased....i liked the video...buying these to replace my run flat all seasons...looking forward to see how these firehawks increase the performance and ride of my Mini.
Thanks for this review. I am looking to replace the stock Pirelli's on my Mustang GT and was considering these. Found some other very positive reviews and am grateful for yours. Very well done. Subscribed.
You are welcome and thank you for your support.
8 months later, how have these worked for you? I am thinking about putting them on my GT
@@adambolinger3969 I've been very pleased with them. I don't abuse my tires ... too much ;) ... and rotate them regularly. I've driven in rain a few times and they had plenty of grip. The wear is as expected so I definitely recommend purchasing these tires.
Thanks for the review man! I'm gonna pick up a set. Appreciate it!
You are welcome
Thanks for a good, straightforward review!
You are welcome
Great review! I am looking at these for an option for my 2024 Mazda Miata ND3 and your video helped a lot! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
I would have said you should have rotated those bad boys a long time ago but you have a staggered setup so you couldn't. But I have these bad boys myself and couldn't be happier. Best bang for the buck out there.
Yeah best value buy for tires.
When running staggered setups you can cross rotate. IE: Left to Right, Right to Left. Obviously no Front to Rear swaps as you can with standard setups, but still helps to even out the wear a bit.
Staggered tires cannot be rotated.
Thank you! You answered all my questions and I'm a be going to the Dragon too.
Always good to have good tires up there
just got these for my stage 4 fiesta now i dont spin i only chirp through third. Awesome tires, firestone finally did something great.
Right on!
Their a rebrand Bridgestone
These are my second set. Gr8 video!
Thanks
I love this video and the quality of this man. 😬 but "threadwear" had me dead
Great vid sir. Loved all the info.
Thanks man.
Spot on. Went from Michelin Pilot Super Sports to these Indy 500’s. In terms of grip for aggressive driving, these are a couple of notches below the Pilot Super Sports. If you enjoy pushing your car hard....you get what you pay for. As a daily driver, the Indy 500’s are competent tires. Good tires for the money for sure, but if you want to play harder with your car....gotta pony up for better tires. ✌️
Thanks. Yep I agree 100%
Yess! I was a little disappointed with the lack of grip in comparison to the pilot super sports for my model 3 awd, but like you said, you get what you pay for. Next time i'll get the pilot super sports.
Nice review, these are rebranded re003 from overseas. If you want more grip, I would suggest going to a 200tw tire instead of the ps4s, like re71r, hankook rs4, nexen su4g, that are better on track and handle heat better. Also they are about the same price or cheaper
Great review, currently running mich pilot sport 4s on my q60 red sport. Awesome tire, but $1700 cdn for a set vs the indy 500 which are just over a $1000 has me seriously considering these.
Yeah the sport 4S tires are expensive and I am not sure they are that much better than the competition depending on driving habits.
You could’ve got them cheaper
Nice ride, thanks for the review. I bought some for my mercedes
Thanks. Best bang for buck tire
Ran 3 sets of these, great all around summer tire for the money.
BBB T beat tire for the money definitely
Thank you sir - I just bought a set for the summer! Can’t beat the price!
You are welcome. Great summer tire for the price
Good stuff, man! I'm thinking about purchasing Firehawks for my GT500 Mustang.
Thanks man. I know that GT500 is a monster to drive. I am not sure how well they would do with that much power. For the price it can’t hurt to try them
What's your Forte ? They will be great from my research. One guy said he had a Hell Cat, his issue was in high speed stability. Are the Indy 500’s only a W speed rating? For me it’s not a issue, I have met the governor several times, mine lives at 128, or pretty close to that. How close to that speed rating and how skilled of a driver there is behind the wheel, shouldn’t be an issue, according to driving habits/style.
On my 2nd set on 2 different wrx's LOVE THEM!!
They are good
Very good review. Nice
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review, thanks boss

Hey man i love the video its good feedback. I am a dealer fot bridgestone and firestone. With the firestone firehawk indy 500 your seller shoupdve noted that thos specific performance tire needs rotated every 3000 miles for extended life. If you dont they dont last long at all i run the same tire on my car and have 40,000 on them. I do reccomend our bridgestone potenza lineup as well best performance tires for your price.
Not sure, but he might have the staggered set up.
Ken, thanks for the feedback but I am staggered so I can not rotate the front and rear tires.
@Kendrick Hom Wish I could find a set of Potenza re760 sports locally for good price. I was very satisfied with that set for daily use. Very well rounded performance with excellent durability.
@@WhatsyourForte you can do a side to side swap every 1500 miles i always recommend getting firestine beidgestone tires from a bridgestone company theyre "supposed" to give you a pamplet with all the information you need when it comes to performance tires
Kendrick Hom I bought my second set from Firestone and they did not give me anything. Lol. But thanks for the info.
Excellent video
Thanks
Good review brother I just purchased a set for my Mustang 5.0 2012 I'm getting them today can't wait to try them out for the guy who commented about those Potenza 71r'$ those tires are like 300 a piece.👎
Great video, thank you!!
You’re welcome
Great review brother I just bought a pair of for my 2012 GT 5.0 I'm getting them today can't wait.💪🤙 are the guy who made the suggestion of the Potenza re-71r those tires are over 300 a piece👎
Thanks man. Yeah there are better tires but they are wayyy more money.
@@WhatsyourForte I just got my Indy 500 firestone's delivered yesterday and they only brought three FedEx the set before these the ohtsu fp8000 that were shipped through ups only brought three as well😫 so now I got to go down to FedEx and raise hell what happened to the good old u.s. Postal Service least you can count on them bringing all your stuff and they're about to go bankrupt because of these idiots at UPS and FedEx what is shitshow thanks for the reply man
The RE71-R's are track tires and are way grippier. They're in a whole different (higher) class than Indy 500's.
Cool video. Thanks!
Thanks for watxhing
I just got these mane, gonna try them this week.
They need to brake in before pushing them to the limit. But I think you will like them.
@@WhatsyourForte i had cheap winter tires before. These new ones transformed my car!!
Good review pimpin
I wanted to get this for my lexus rx400h suv. And wanted it to last around 70000km at least. Do you think it would last that long ?
If you get all 4 wheels the same size and rotate every 8000km they might make it there. Really depends on driving style
@@WhatsyourForte alright I'll let you know what I go with. Thanks again brother
Love them
Thoughts on these on a 2017 Cruze? 3000 lbs wet weight, 205 16 in wheels. I’ve had them for about 2 years, got 25,000 miles on them. Love them with a little heat in them. Pull a couple of corners with the temperature over 85 degrees, she goes where I point her. Back end slid out only twice, temperatures around 45 degrees out. Plus with tires this small, this set was $405 installed.
Getting about time to get another set, anyone have suggestions on other tires to look at. Tire Rack has these for a little over $100 a piece, seems pretty good to me.
Thanks for your input. Sounds like you really enjoyed them. If you really want to try something different, look at the Continental Max contact summer tire. It also comes with a mileage warranty
Given how much torque Turbo German cars have, and the fact that the wheels are staggered and we can not rotate the tires it is not uncommon for a rear set of tires to last you 15-18-25,000 miles before the tires need to be replaced. On my 2017 E Class I managed 22,000 miles before I had to replace my tires.I do not drive my E Klass everyday, I average 10-12,000 miles a year on that car so 22,000 miles is about 2 years worth of driving for me. I drive conservatively mostly but sometimes I have some fun on the Autobahn and the speeds of which I travel (about 240KM/H/150MPH) reduces the life of the tires.
Greetings from Germany.
On my daily BMW 1 Series I can manage about the same milage for tire life, the worst thing for the life of tires on cars such as these is the inability to rotate the tires.
Nice cars. I agree the inability to rotate is what kills the life of the tire. However it is fun burning through rubber.
Higher wear on your right tires compared to left could also be due to your alignment being off. just a heads up. Good review though dude
I have 35,000 miles on my set and they’re at 10/32’nds. Slightly modified GT500 and GT 350
It's "tread" not "thread".
Also your right side will wear faster because of turning radius.
Imagine stopping at traffic lights. You turn right and its always slower and shorter with less lateral load to the outside left. You turn left is higher speed and longer with more lateral load to the right.
In the UK it's the left side that wears faster for the same reason.
Makes sense
How do they last if you just cruise. No racing or drifting.
I have heard people get about 20k out of them
You need to slow down those right and left turns, and even out front to rear wear, lol. Well done, thanks ehhh, and cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Hahhaha slow down? What is that 😂
Loved my indys
They are good tires
So are you going with the same FS 500 again?
I did when I replaced these on my 435.
@@WhatsyourForte I finally got the Firestone 500 tires on my Infiniti G37XS and these tears are incredible in the rain they also performed very well from the 0 to 60 I've been torturing people and races
SSRs or Sport cups 2 for me
Yep those are great tires. I have heard nothing but great things about the SSRs
If right side tires are worn more you are making more left turns (simple physics), OR you have an alignment issue.
1madmaxx80 makes sense
@@WhatsyourForte Weight shift is fun! Front, back, side 2 side :D
That's a good way to check wheel bearings too; If when you turn left you hear noise (moaning/groaning) from the right, you know you have a bad bearing on that side. Do opposite to check left side. In an empty parking lot of course ;)
Going to be ordering a set of these tires tonight/tomorrow for my Prelude. At $140/tire (up in Canada) I don't think I can do any better. Got some Tein Flex Z coil overs to put on too, so should be like a new ride after!
1madmaxx80 thanks for the info. I loved the prelude back in the day. That H22 Honda engine was a beast. Enjoy the tires
@@WhatsyourForte I wouldn't go that far. It's a fun car to drive (SH model), but it isn't really fast. Maybe 170HP to the wheels and 3000Lbs. My '91 5.0 is a lot more fun to drive, more beast like ;)
Cheers!
1madmaxx80 hahah well it had a lot of potential back in its day. It was a tuner legend. Most people put turbo kits on it. But yeah but today’s standards it is very slow.
RAIIDERRRRSSSSSSS
RN4L ☠️
where'd you buy indy500 for 600 installed?
From the Firestone dealer. Also tire rack has good prices also
Some sizes are way cheaper than others, more common sizes are always cheaper
Check out the Advan Apex
Yeah I ran them on my M3. When I made this video the Advans where not out yet
Do you run these in the winter?
I did. I am in North Carolina tho. We don’t get much snow or ice. When it got really cold, the tires where hard and you just needed to get some heat in them and they where good.
They're not meant to be run in cold temperatures, you will damage the tire doing so. Driving with these in snow is just idiotic, look at the tread.
@@cheeko_914 worked for me
I know this video is like 2 years old but🤔😦, where did you pay $600+ for 4 indi 500 tires and installed!?!?!?
No that was for 2 sorry if that was confusing. That was for both rears. The fronts where only like $450 installed
Oh ok, yeah it was a little confusing but yeah I got it now, I just placed my tire order with tirerack, $798.96 free shipping and $60 rebate card for my indi 500 tires😁 can't wait to install them, 99subigt is my other channel🤔 I was wondering why my avatar looked different.
wow..there supposed to be 40K mile tires...You do alot of holeshots? fast stop-leavin corner ? at least the front looks good still. I don't drive too hard so I hope these will last a bit longer (on back) cause your rears after 12K look a lil orn out. I can't afford to install tires on My Challenger r/t for a long time after spending 1,300 for all 4 and alignment ect...
The mileage warranty is cut in half when you have a staggered wheel set up. Also this is typical for RWD Tuned BMWs regardless of tire
@@WhatsyourForte oh yeah? Because I'm gonna stagger them 275 / 245 i can expect a lower mileage rating? damn.. I wonder if I should do all 4 245 or 275 humm thanks for that..
Have you tried the Potenza re71r super sticky
I have not but I do plan to try something different when these get bald.
those tires are over 300 a piece
Bro you look like Paul George lol
Sneakercop haaa I have never heard that one before. 😂
Man you gotta rotate that shit! Ha ha ..
I can’t rotate, I am staggering 😂
890.00 now ……
Damn
People always compare their new tires with their old worn tires. They drive their old tires to the shop and drive the new ones home and say "Wow, these are way better."
I hate when people do those reviews.
From the looks of the front to the back ... Burt ... u burnt the tread off the back long time ago .... so in the rain you got a severe problem ... bad review... in burts opinion...
