I was addicted to porn, i was addicted to weed, i would curse, looking with lust for me is an understatement. I had no plans to give my life to Christ. I did not clean myself up, i did not give up my sins before coming to Christ. I did not activate Gods grace by evangelizing because i wasnt even Christian... But this is grace. Despite all my sin and wretchedness God saved me from myself.

@@1Chongs so heres a direct quote from you : "in this world no one is either right nor wrong as we are still developing/learning." End quote. So according to your world view, rape isn't wrong, killing a 2 month old baby by strangulation isnt wrong, or a drunk driver killing a mom and her kids isnt wrong, neither was slavery or hitler and the holocaust and ultimately according to your world view those that did all those evil things cant be held responsible or be called evil because according to you, "they are still learning" end quote.
You see in my world view all those that did those horrendous and evil things i can say they are evil and i can say they will receive punishment because my God whom i serve gives justice to the wicked therefore punishes them. And i can say they are evil without contradicting myself because in my world view there is an ABSOLUTE sense of right and wrong.

The confusion you're having is because of how you are asking the question and it's not as simple as what you think. Mormons believe in different types of salvation and they are correct and I will explain why.
      SAVED FROM HELL
      1) Mormons believe that we receive salvation from the outer darkness of hell through the GRACE of Christ. As you let Christ into your heart by feeding your soul with inspired writings from God, Great spiritual music, sincere prayer, meditation and you allow Christ into your heart, then Christ makes a believer out of you. This salvation is a gift given to all believers. Mormons believe this gift is not reserved to just Mormons, but is a gift given to all believers.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now once you are saved from the outer darkness of hell then there is another salvation and this is what is confusing the rest of the Christian community about Mormonism, but in reality it's what most Christians believe as well but its just not connecting for some reason, so let's get into this other salvation.
      SAVED FROM LOSING OUR INHERITANCE
Now losing your inheritance doesn't prevent you from going to heaven, because all believers regardless of what they have done here on earth will go to heaven. So even if you steel, cheat, lie, commit adultery, murder, and commit many other sins, then can still go to heaven if you are a believer in Christ. This is also what mormons believe.
However Mormons also believe that you can loose your inheritance (Awards) in heaven and the only way to be saved from loosing your inheritance is by your WORKS you do here on earth.
Christ is the King and the second judge who will judge us based on our works. Mormons teach that in heaven there is a Telestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and there are 3 Kingdoms that make up the Celestial Kingdom, so a total of 5 Kingdoms that we can inherit that represents our Glory.
Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
It is interesting that the Bible uses the word inherit the Kingdom and not inhabit the Kingdom, because when you inherit a kingdom what does the King place on your head? That's right a crown.
      5 Heavenly Kingdoms
      5 Heavenly Crowns
Based on the things we do on earth we can inherit the Glory . Now these are not actual places or material things but they are symbolic to our Glory we receive as our inheritance, and we can loose this Glory based on what we do not do (WORKS).
Because salvation from the outer darkness has been achieved through the grace of Christ, then putting more focus on being saved from loosing that inheritance isn't unreasonable for most Christians. The Christian community sees this as awards we can earn through our works and Mormons sees these as rewards that we have been promised that we can loose. Well both the Christian community and the Mormon community are both correct, because not getting an award that you could have gotten is the same thing as loosing an award.
So when you ask a Mormon how you are saved then you may be talking about the salvation from hell (GRACE) and they are thinking your talking about the salvation from losing our inheritance or Glory in heaven. (WORKS) The Christian community get confused because most don't put a lot of focus on the 5 Heavenly Crowns and are just excited to be saved by Grace.
So really there are actually two things that really matters the most:
      1) Salvation from Hell (gift already given)
      2) Salvation from losing our inheritance (glory.)
All the other things that are out there like the history of the church, the journal of discourses is more theory about the mysteries of God then anything else and most members don't actually see that stuff as truth but more as theory to explain the mysteries of God, but even the thief on the cross didn't know all the mysteries of God.
The problem that you have is that you are classifying a group of people (mormons) as not believing in Christ when we all know that believing in Christ is an individual thing and not the membership of a particular organization. So can a Mormon read the King James bible, have Christ enter their heart, make them a believer, and through the Grace of Christ be saved? Yes, because if you believe the Bible then you would believe that the grace of Christ was a gift given to all believers even a Mormon that is a believer can also be saved and still be a Mormon.
All religious organizations have their problems and people need to realize that church organizations and the bible are just tools that help us on our journey. People that put all their trust and faith in a church organization or spiritual leader will have their heart shattered. Those that put their faith and trust in Christ will recognize that their church is just a tool and will not be troubled when they see the flaws.
The reason members of the LDS church leave the church is because their heart and faith was based on the church and Joseph Smith and not on Christ. However members that put their faith and trust in Christ are not troubled by the flaws of the church and they don't have a real reason to leave the church because they recognize the church as a tool that helps them spiritually grow.
Having members leave the LDS church is a wake-up call to a realization of where their heart was in the first place. 80% of members that leave the LDS church not only stop believing in the church but they also stop believing in God completely. So was it a victory for you to point out all the flaws of their mormon church, and get them to leave, when in fact you become the result of turning a believer in Christ into a non-believer? It would be better to help a Mormon understand that despite the flaws within the church all that really matters is their belief in Christ and not the church they attend.

I just left the Mormon church 8 months ago and became born again on June 20th and the amazing things God has done for me in the last 8 months, His outpouring of love, my relationship and newfound freedom in Jesus has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. 37 years of faithful servitude in the Mormon church never made me like Jesus. Jesus made me like Jesus when I completely trusted in Him and took His word in the Bible seriously. God called me to start a ministry to help Mormons go from religion to true relationship with Jesus. Amen!

@@eeeddddddiiieee works-based salvation. See the 3rd article of faith which says we are justified by the law and compare it to Gal. 5 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." Christ's atonement in lds doctrine was therefore insufficient because we still have to earn it/be deserving of the Salvation that is a "free gift" (Eph 2:8-9) somehow.
The god of mormonism is not eternal and is a created being. 'christ' is the spirit offspring of 'elohim' & his wife in lds doctrine, which is a direct contradiction of Colossians 1:16 which states Christ created all things visible & invisible. They believe in millions of gods and that they themselves will become gods, compare that to Isaiah 43:10 "and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." There are around 30 Bible verses stating explicitly that there is only one God, Yahweh.

Believers are not judged the same way as non believers. The sins of believers will not be an issue at the judgment seat of Christ - they have already been forgiven. The judgment seat of Christ is not designed to punish believers, but rather to reward them for their faithful service. All of us will give an account of what we have done after trusting Christ as Savior. Therefore, the judgment seat of Christ is a judgment of believers works after salvation. We will get rewards and lose rewards, but we all will see heaven.

This may be correlated to the willingness of Utah's population to seek treatment, as evidenced by rates of anti-depressant medication prescription. (See LDS antidepressant use.) Religion is generally protective against suicide, and studies on Latter-day Saints bear this out.
It is unfortunate that critics wish to trivialize a serious problem such as suicide-a leading cause of death in the United States-by using it as a club to beat a specific religion. They do this without any data implicating the Church, and much data which argues against the patients' religion as a causative factor."

When Jesus died on the cross, he shed his blood on the cross so that we need no longer sacrifise animals since his blood was the subtitute.
2] Read it in context, God means here that he doesn't want the animal sacrifises if it is just a way for people to justify them sinning. The animal sacrifises were needed to made with kindness and respect to the Lord, in obeying Him hence trying not to sin. But in those times, the israelites just kept on sinning without repenting. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now when we are Judged by God we will go through another judgement to receive our awards in heaven. In the Mormon church we teach of the Telestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and three kingdoms that make up the Celestial Kingdom, so a total of 5 Kingdoms of Glory that we can receive based on our works. Now this has been promised as our inheritance to the kingdom of God. Christ is the King that will award us with our inheritance.
Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
It is interesting that the bible uses the word inherit the kingdom and not inhabit the kingdom, because when you inherit a kingdom what does the king place on your head? That's right a Crown.
      5 Heavenly Crowns
      5 Heavenly Kingdoms
These are not actual places or material things but they are and illustration of our Glory based on the things we have done on earth. This Glory is our inheritance that has been promised to us based on our works. So when you ask a Mormon how someone is saved, you are talking about the salvation from the outer darkness of hell and they are thinking of being saved from losing their inheritance.
The reason is that mormons are focused on the achieving the highest level of the Celestial Kingdom which is the crown of Victory to most Christians.
The reason most mormons don't preach a lot on salvation the same way as other Christians is because salvation has already been achieved through the Grace of Christ to all believers. So now that you have been saved you need to focus on not losing your inheritance.
So saved can be something different to a Mormon based on how you ask the question.

@@stevenhenderson9005 The Celestial Kingdom is not a "crown of victory to most Christians." A Christian cannot "lose his/her inheritance." The Telestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and Celestial Kingdom are Mormon teachings that have no basis in scripture. These ideas do not come from God. Mormonism does what many other cults do - mixing a little bit of truth with a large pack of lies. This is a form of deception that is particularly cruel. Mormons are not only lied to, but they are taught to call these lies "Christian." It is depressing to me to know that people are kept from the truth. Mormon theology is not Christian.

My family is Catholic, since my father was influenced by the Muslims, we did not embrace worshipping Mary and the Saints. This year lots of storms keep coming in my life. I did not understand why God left my earthly needs unanswered. My father was diagnosed with tumors and passed away, there's no scholarship for me. My education is doomed we are full of financial debts. But prior to all these storm I've been seeking God while not believing in Christ Jesus as the Lord. As my rose colored world crumbled because of these storms, I tried seeking Christ and He changed me. I know it because I can feel His presence every moment and inch of me. My past behavior, my addictions, my short temper, my desires for fame and earthly wealth has passed away. Through Him I am changed. Thanks be to God through Christ Jesus our Lord we are being saved.
What I am struggling most right now which I know for sure that God knows are:
    1) I lost desires to strive for academics. I just want to please Jesus Christ. I did not believe in Him before, thus I wanted to fill myself with the Words I used not to care about.
    2) Now that God is giving me understanding of His Word, I wanted to let others know the Good news that we don't have to be worthy. His grace is sufficient to save us (Ephesians 2:8-9).
    3) I wanted my family, friends, relatives, and all people to be saved because God taught me to love. I love God because He loves me. Now, His love is teaching me to love everyone His people. I believe that God is doing the work in me. God placed the fire in me to exhort my family members seek Him= Christ Jesus. I am God's workmanship but sometimes being seen as strange, weird, foolish for sharing His Word disheartened me.
Cheer up brothers and sisters experiencing similar struggles with me. It's okay, God is our Everything. God places the fire in us; so we no longer walk alone, we walk by faith, Him as our Lord. If we struggle seeing our loved ones perishing, God knows it and is working something on us in His perfect time. Let us keep fighting the good fight knowing Jesus is in the same boat with us. God Bless you all. Honor and Glory be to Him.

I think the clip was indicative of the need for them to hear what the Bible says.. because that good news of justification by faith in the gift and grace of God is the answer to their deepest need..
It seems like they need to hear that message a whole lot before they can trust it..

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
      23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
      44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

@@hawknives The text I quoted plainly states that you can ask God for anything and he will give it to you. If you add the stipulation about God's will then you are making up your own text. But let's go with your version for argument's sake: If it is God's will for you to have something, and you ask for it, then you say he will give it to you. If you don't ask for it - will you still get it? If God wills it, then surely you will get it anyway, if God always gets what he wills. If by not asking for it, you are stopping God's will, doesn't that mean God's will is powerless?
The standard Christian response to the argument of prayer is the traffic light analogy - if you ask God for something the answer is either YES, NOT YET or NO. What they fail to realise is that this is the same as no prayer at all. It covers absolutely every eventuality, and therefore is meaningless.
In your first post, you didn't ask me what God's will was, you asked if I knew what it was. In your second post you rather rudely told me to answer the question which you hadn't asked. Of course I don't know what God's will is, and neither does anybosy else, because God (Yahweh) does not exist.

    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

      @@stevenhenderson9005 Hi Steven!
Nice to see you on this thread also.
I only have 5 minutes so I'll make it short, but I'll use Scriptures to back what I'm saying. To make sure we are on the same page, I'm talking about being saved from Hell, that is go to Heaven.
I know you will be dying soon and I just want to make sure that you will be meeting God after you die.
      1. You need to know that all humans are sinners and because God is a just judge, we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God (Heaven) because of our sins.
      Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"
      Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
      2. The good news is that God loves us and provided a way for us to be saved, go to Heaven even though we are guilty. Jesus-Christ, God's son, died in your place.
      John 3:16
"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
      3. You need to put your trust in Jesus-Christ alone and repent from your sins
      Mark 1:14-15
"After John was arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, preaching the good news of God: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe in the good news!”
      4. You just have to do as one criminal on the cross. He repented and trusted that Jesus could welcome Him in His Kingdom
      Luke 23:39-43
"Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at Him: “Aren’t You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!”
But the other answered, rebuking him: “Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment? We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”
And He said to him, “ I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”"
I haven't timed myself but I think it would take more than 5 minutes to tell you this.
I realize I need to be better at briefly explaining the Gospel. Thanks Steven for helping me realize that.
Do you find this clear enough? Is that what you believe?

Yes, I’m of another church, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate Ray and his videos. I appreciate Ray telling others about Jesus Christ. In my mind, when someone comes to Christ their life is blessed. Ray helps those that don’t believe in Jesus come to Him. What’s not to like? I’ve seen in his videos that God works through Ray and in my personal church I’ve seen God work through the leaders there too. It doesn’t contradict my beliefs. Gods ways are much greater than man’s ways. I think we all benefit from discussing our beliefs without fighting where we disagree. At the end of the day, it’s ok to disagree. I enjoy watching his debates and open air preaching too. Interesting stuff.
