The AT is far more capable than I am.
Static balance drills, clutch up techniques, and good suspension settings make a huge difference. That being said, she's NOT a dedicated dirt bike. AT does fine in the ATV trails, hill climbs (to a degree) and makes for a fun forest road machine. Touring is mediocre stock, but as with anything it can be modified to make it better.
The ABS can be disabled with a sensor switch.
Tight technical single track is not very fun on this bike.

What bike are you looking to get after the AT?

  • @2wheels.are.better.than4

I have a big adventure bike and a light dual sport, but I would rather have just one bike that is a jack of all and master of none. Leaning toward a DR650. Love the T7 but I think it’s too heavy to be as versatile as the DR.

The DR650 is a good mid bike & if you are an amazing rider you can do some crazy stuff. I have a pumper carb, aftermarket exhaust, and upgraded suspension for my 220lb + 40lb camping gear. For gravel and causual riding, and the occasional two track / single track - the DR650 wil not dissapoint - but the front end is a little wiggly in my opinion. If I am doing a hard core dual sport ride with lots of single or two track, nasty rutted hills, etc - I take my CRF450RL everyday (and have done 6 day camping on it). Best of riding.

@@314adv I’d love to have just 1 bike. I know it will be a compromise both on and off road but I’m ok with that.

@@2wheels.are.better.than4 - It’s a great all around 350lb-ish affordable bike. My mods are only because of the shape of the bike when I got it from the previous owner. If you end up going DR - I agree 100% with this riders mod recommendations.

Traction control is in the right wrist. I don’t understand why everyone wants a bike that rides itself. Ride, learn and improve. If I could kickstart my T7 I would, it’s a motorcycle ffs 😂👍🏻
