I didn’t order the whole sync 3 system from Navi because I got a screen from a totaled vehicle, I had to order the adapter and I will say these guys had the best quality and amazing ship time I will recommend Navi to anyone trying to switch from sync 2- sync 3

Hey @joeypope9383 im also doing what you are did you have to reprogram it to your car through a forscan or did all you have to do is get these adapters and install it!!!

Do you know if the AppleCarplay works with Bluetooth?
CarPlay doesn't work over Bluetooth in any vehicle. Cars with wireless CarPlay feature high bandwidth wifi that allows for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. This is only available in Sync 4 vehicles, though you can add it to any sync 3 system using a simple dongle plugged into the USB hub.

Are you able to supply a kit to suit the Australian 2016 Ford Falcon FGX XR6? Currently has 8" Sync 2 with Navigation, a very boring piece of equipment :D

A great upgrade. The only issues I have is that the digital radio stations don't work ( can't even get the dab app to work,) and I don't have the Android app on the screen either, any ideas? Help .... cheers
I have a 2020gt with the 4" base screen it says it's sync 3, I've got sync3 screen deck w/o navigation I can do the install no problem I'm wondering if I can program it with forscan or if my current is sync 3 would the new sync 3 screen be ready to go?
Thanks for the video.I just upgraded my Mustang from a sync 2 to sync 3 with navigation. The compass on the dash and on the display is not pointing correctly all of the time and my location is not correct on the map. The compass will be saying Im driving East when I driving West but the North/South will be correct or vice versa and the map will be correct showing me on the highway then all of a sudden I am off of it running along side of it or going in the opposite direction and then it corrects itself. I have replaced the antenna that came with the upgrade, done a master reset several times and done the figure eight recalibration someone suggested. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Unfortunately it requires a whole hardware swap as Sync 3 is set up differently and uses all different hardware. The display on Sync 2 connects with pins on the back of the display and APIM whereas Sync 3 uses a LVDS cable. Sync 3 is also capacitive vs resistive on Sync 2 (think of what touchscreen phones were like before the iPhone - that's Sync 2, the iPhone would be Sync 3). My car, 2016 mustang, has the USB port already but it says it’s the sync 2. Apple CarPlay was working when I first bought it but now all it says is usb device not responding. So I factory reset it and now apple CarPlay settings are gone. Should I buy the bundle to fix?

I bought a used sync 3 screen and everything out of someone’s car and I can’t get the screen to turn on? His car originally came with sync 3 obv mine didn’t. I’m hoping it’s simply a harness I’ll need to connect in order for the screen to turn on?

Some stupid questions: what is synch 2 and 3 and what's the difference. I have a 2017 GT here in Europe. I would like to upgrade the infotainment. At the moment I can run AndroidAuto, but only via a cable. I find the Bluetooth music streaming doesn't produce the same found quality as the CD player. I have something called "SHAKER" I suppose this is some sort of sub-bass? It's difficult getting some basic info about what's installed and what options are available.
Biggest difference is ability to do carplay and android auto. Since you have android auto you have sync 3. The shaker system is a sound system with a small subwoofer in the trunk usually. You can get a wireless adapter to run carplay/android auto without a cable.

It should still work. That gps data is coming off your phone
If I already have sync 3 and simply just want to add navigation to my car. What will I need to do? I’m familiar with forscan and cyanlabs software. Hardware wise would I be missing anything besides the apim?
You'd just need to swap out to a nav module and program your current asbuilt to that module (and enable nav obviously)
@@NaviUpgrade okay thanks, was just trying to make sure I didn’t miss any bases before ordering the module. Also looking online at numerous different apim model numbers, I don’t think the model matters correct? As long as it’s a sync 3 apim with nav?

I read your article on your website. That's for the information. My vehicle is currently has sync 3 without Nav. In you article it say I will have to purchase the GPS antenna. Do you sell that with the APIM? Do you program them by vin?

Hey there Cristian! You can totally get away with non-navigation and just use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto! Most of the time folks who buy the navigation version live in the middle of nowhere and have poor cell reception, thus having built-in maps as the very least, a backup is helpful for them. Even if you plan on going off the grid someplace, it's super easy to download maps ahead of time using Google Maps if you need.

No, wgeth navigation or non navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will both work as a navigation source on Sync 3. Navigation just means that the module has maps built into it for navigating without a data connection
