Dang! Vesper- Classically trained with Modern reactions!! Played against this style of Manon last night as well. Stessful. Dude stunned me after I put myself in the corner, teabagged, then missed his command throw input getting jab. I hit jab>jab>SA1 for the win. Couldn't even see a pixel left on my health, lol.
This was one of the players that I was getting matched with over and over with. They were beating me almost every single time we met... I was getting pretty tilted, but I still rematched every time. Once I started winning they stopped rematching me... :(

I love letting people hang themselves, I got 99 seconds on the clock and I intend to use all of them. Biggest weakness is checking our forward movement, rush down and taking the life lead then running down the clock. We gotta come to you eventually right?

Someone just pointed out that in Platinum it starts where people perfected this ONE playstyle with a bag of tricks and fallbacks. But it’s still one playstyle and usually very reaction based. If you outplay that, there is usually nothing left and they completely fall apart. Still annoys me that I lose to stuff like that regularly. PLUS those players are more likely to disconnect before they lose. Quite pathetic.

Can't recommend the flowchart of walk back---> jump in, but this is definitely the way Manon is supposed to play this MU. Gladius is just too much of a threat to characters without low forward into drive rush to contend with for it to go otherwise.
@@DrSwazz It's possible, but not really practical. Gladius is just on the end of unreactable at it's fastest 17 frames, and has variable timing because it's chargeable. It also leaves Marisa plus on failed perfect parry which is not ideal.

Sure but typically having a huge life means you don't need to make any unnecessary risk. I think that's a lot different than what happened here and the Manon player paid for it. Life lead means nothing if you can't close out the round lol
New to fighting games here but isn't adapting to different playstyles the whole point of fighting games? If you lose to a playstyle cause you got tilted, isn't that on you as a player to work around it?

What Manon is supposed to do? She has ZERO moves plus on block and Marisa has a lot of armor moves and two-hit kill combos. Trading normals is a bad strategy.

The Manons I've faced are pretty 50/50. Whether they have good fundamentals or not, the match-up is freaking annoying as a Cammy main.
