      I had one but found it quite bright, which is surprising considering its a cedar top. If you are just fingerpicking, then its a perfect fit and also a stunning looker.

      @Reijo Väliranta You can listen to the musician Hozier play this guitar on the youtube "Hozier on the Late Late Show - 03/27/2020". He also plays it in many other videos. And check out his live surprise show he did on the NY subway. He also plays a Takamine on his "To Be Alone" video... but for that one I can't confirm if it's a NY or a dreadnought model.

    Hi,
    I would like to know if the Takamine P3NY is comfortable to play with fingers, solos and bendings etc, or on the other hand it is too hard and the tension offered by the neck is high.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 3 lety

      Hi, Antonio. Playing comfort is going to be subjective from person to person. But in general, I would say this would be a great guitar for fingerpicking. It is a 25.3" scale length so bends could feel a bit tight, but with a lighter set of strings and a setup, it could certainly do that, too. The other option would be to go for a guitar with a shorter scale length. Something like a Martin 0-18 would be an example of something in a similar size for shorter neck for easier bending.
      Thanks for your interest!

      I would like to know if you know of any MARTIN 00 model or salon (parlor) 14fret with slotted headstock type Martin model (another brand) that really offers low tension to the strings and in this way can be really comfortable to play with the fingers?
      A cordial greeting.

    It's hard to ascertain what strumming sounds like on this guitar...

    • @chrismartin500
      @chrismartin500 Před 7 lety

      cedar tops dont respond well to strumming. They break up and get pretty muddy. Great for fingerstyle though.

    • @musicCurator
      @musicCurator Před 5 lety

      Yea with heavy heavy strumming it breaks up or distorts. But, controlled strumming either with fingers or flat pick brings out a very nice character.

      A bit of a late comment here but yeah, I got the guitar about 7 months ago and I have to say I like it. It looks awesome and feels great, easy to play. But it is definitely NOT a strumming guitar. The sound is kind of dull when strumming with a pick, but is still pretty loud. When strumming, the sound is pretty heavy in the mid range and lacks bass and depth. But you really get the best out of this guitar when playing mellow arpeggios with a pick or fingers.
      The pickup system is very good, sounds awesome through a mediocre PA system and for example a Marshall acoustic amp. Tuner is kind of meh, but it gets the job done, and the onboard EQ is great.
      Build quality is top of the line, everything is made well and I haven't had any issues with this guitar. My only problem is the lack of depth in the sound when played loudly and strumming. That's actually why I ended up back to this review to see if anyone else agrees with me, I'm thinking of getting another guitar that's more suitable for strumming :D Overall, a really good guitar, but with this price-range you can find many alternatives that have a better depth in the sound. But this is a parlor style, smaller guitar, so it is expected that it isn't as deep sounding as a dreadnought. Please share your opinions with me, I'd love to hear someone else's experiences!

    Why do these demos always have sweet and lush style playing? It’s so overdone and, frankly, cringe at this point. Where is the staccato, percussive (no, not Andy McKee style) and heavy picking? It’s like every guitar player comes off a factory line these days.
