Repotting my PINK PRINCESS PHILODEDNRON and adding a wood stake for this new half moon leaf!

- My Pink Princess Philodendron finally grew a beautiful almost half moon pink leaf!!! I was going to propagate it but now I decided to repot it and stake it up to let this beauty grow!! So excited about this latest leaf development 😄
What are your thoughts on this plant? Worth the hype or not? I thought it was reverting because it hadn't grown any majorly pink leaves for almost a year but here we are now celebrating this (almost) half moon!
Do you use moss poles and keep them moist, or do you prefer wood stakes, or other materials for supporting your climbing plants?
Some topics mentioned in this video: cellular vs genetic mutation (what is a pink princess philodendron?), moss poles vs wooden stakes, will my pink princess philodendron grow pink leaves? is my pink princess philodendron reverting? stable vs unstable variegation
Thanks so much for watching and cheers to making new plant friends :)

I've been moving away from moss poles too. Keeping them moist seems like such an unreasonable task.
ok yes! glad to know it’s not just me ☺️ thx so much for watching!💕
Yep, wood works just as well.
You just explained everything I wanted to know about pink princess philodendron in the first 5 minutes. You're so knowledgeable and that's why I'm currently binging all your videos. Can't wait to see more! ( Especially plant chores 💚🌱)
yessss I thought the same, I was about to comment that
I use similar wooden stakes. Because they’re heavier and can be unwieldy, I use a cheap wood burning tool to melt holes in the pot & zip tie the stake in place before potting the plant. It makes a huge difference in stability and peace of mind
Just bought one I’m so excited to see how it grows
❤️❤️🙌🏾🙌🏾 We outchea 5th comment. I’m hear for this 🥰🥰❤️❤️
💕💕🥳yay!! thx for watching!! 😁✨✨
Oh my God that plant is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️I have never seen one before. It's beautiful!!
your such an underrated planttuber! love your channel i’m sure you’ll gain a bigger following soon!
So I have a tetrasperma on a moss pole, but it's homemade moss pole. I used plastic mesh chicken wire and filled it with moss. The arial roots have started growing into the moss itself and have gotten so long that they're now shooting out the other side. All the while the plants leafs have gotten progressively larger and more fenestrated. And I don't mist the pole, I water it whenever I water the plants itself.
I have the same Feeling about the moss poles.
To me they are Kind of mold breeding grounds if done wrong.
And in a bit of moist Environment ( i am in the Southwest of Germany (Black Forest)) the air roots still appear on my Philodendron verrucosum Incence and it is enough if you ever want to root it in Water or Soil or whatnot .
You Rock Lady

wow all the way in Germany- hello!! 🤗 I lived in Berlin for a few months and I can’t wait to visit again🥰 So cool you have a verrucosm🤩 thx so much for watching Matthias!✨

This plant has been on my wish list for a while, and after watching this video it's moved right to the top haha
I feel the same about moss poles as well. I’ve been using stakes like you for the ones that needs one. Definitely the easier and less annoying option. Lol
Oh my HILARIOUS!!!! I absolutely loved the video but seriously the gnat on the sticky’s ahahaha! That’s the best! I understand 😂
So glad I came across the video. I have a different kind of philodendron that awaits repotting and has a similar size and wobbliness level to your pink princess. Now I at least roughly know what to do with it.
I’ve never seen the hype of this plant but yours is gorgeous!!! I’m not even super thrilled about the pink leaf. I might have to get one and be at peace with it reverting
haha thank you so much! it had been looking limp and scraggly for a while but something happened and it got all happy 🤷♀️☺️ i think it would still be really nice if it reverted💕
@@reallybigplant i have a small ppp and i would love to know what lighting etc you did 😊 you mentioned you think in the beginning you didn't give it enough light, and I'm scared I'm going the same route, i don't want to lose the variegation 😞
Such a gorgeous plant!!! I love philos sooo much! I have a red moon I think and ommgmgmmgmgmg I can’t believe it! I bought it as a prince of orange from Lowe’s! I can’t wait to get a ppp one day!!!!
your ending.....hysterical !!!!
You don’t have to keep moss pole moist. The air roots just need something to hang on to. I don’t mist my moss poles and my plants are doing good 👍🏾
Nice to know , thank you for the information !
Love seeing your PINK Princess!! 💕Nice video! I'm going to see if you have a video on your gorgeous diff! I need help! I have large uncovered windows but NW Illinois and I just wonder if even with some sunny days, it isn't enough. Not in direct sun tho. But I'll go look before I whine more!! 😁
Lovely! 😍
Oh Lots of Congrats to that gorgeous Leaf. I got one unfurling soon on my tiny PPP.
It's beautiful! The stake seems great as well. I have yet to become skilled in adding stakes to a plant. 😂
I got a round stake and tied coconut fibre with spagnum moss with string tightly and tied my princess on to it and roots developed all the way up the stem on the pole which I kept moist. I have more new growth on the plant than ever before.
sorry for my english [ coming from the Netherlands]
I find your videos very nice and relaxing to watch and sometimes being a bit "clumsy" is part of that too....hahaha
Maybe it will be easier if you next time two small screws through the plastic pot into the wooden stick.
Then it is very firmly in your pot !!

I love your shirt, it matches with the plant ♡😁
I bought my PPP as a reverted cutting with 2 leaves on it, I got it really cheap, and it put out 2 growth points for me and both of them give me the most beautiful bright pink leaves, I don't believe they ever truly revert it can always come back as far as I know
Thank you for the great info about this plant. I’m not loving mine.. Despite using a “personal humidifier “ just for her the leaves always get stuck. I’m using a stake now because the moss pole was like a fungus gnat magnet
Luvettttt
That’s a beautiful plant.
It’s beautiful 😍
You have done a great job! Beautiful PPP. What did you add to the potting mix? And what type of rocks did you add to the bottom?
She’s a beauty 🪴
Your plant is beautiful!! Love the wood stakes. Where did you find them?
You gave me a heart attack when you nearly knocked it over! 😭
ahh me too hahah!!😅😧😅 thx so much for watching 🥰💕!
I love your back drop ! Can I ask where did you get your set of pigeons ??🥰
That’s a very beautiful plant crazy how big it is 🤩 I was just wondering if you could give me some tips for my english ivy all of a sudden it just started dying on me all it’s leaves just died leaving a nice vine left now it’s just chilling only one leaf has died since then which was about a month ago
She is nice a tall! 😍👏🏾
Hiiii 👋🏿 I would love to see your Pink Philodendron plant. I just ran into your video today. It's been two years since you recorded this video..I really enjoy the whole video
Loved ur video! Glad I came across it. I purchased a PPP this past Tuesday and wish I hadn’t. I worry it will die on me or revert back to all green. I’ll just have to make sure I give it the utmost care and hope and pray for the best. Do you have an update video for ur PPP? 🪴🌱
Where did you get those 4 ft stakes at? Gorgeous pink princess.
You might wanna check out Caitlin Louise's video "how to actually mature your plants [...]". It turns out that your setup might be even more beneficial for the plant than a moist moss pole 😊
Yesss I've loved watching her experiment with different plants and wood stakes
If you run into that problem again instead of using wet paper towel use clay as in a play-doe it will harden and stay in place. I would love to see a update 😊
Great.mine is doing great.thank you
Do you have an update on this one? How did it like the stake?
Gnat life is real! I have to fish them out of my tea almost every day 🙄
hahaha same!! I used to dump out my drink after finding gnats but now i just scoop em out 🤷♀️😂
Try bonide systemic granules. It killed all my gnats. You just add some to the soil and water the plant. I i buy it from Amazon
I'm so happy for you yayyy PPP go girl!🌸 love your video!
You make me laugh... Your nip covers😊
PPP rule🌸
Omg I just bought a pathos I was getting ready to make a moss pole but I haven’t gotten the supplies I’ve been torn on whether to use moss or wood…the thing that scares me is the idea that I’m going to have to replace the pole later because wood Rita
Cause the wood rots? I have wondered about the same thing, but feel like that shouldn't be that big of a deal cause it takes quite a while for wood to rot and the moss in a moss pole would eventually rot too. Ya know?
Where did you get your soil spoon?
What sort of soil do you use for your PPP?
Behind your back what kind of plants did you have, plesase
I literally just made a moss pole and I'm already annoyed lol. Moss is everywhere.
you don't mention watering post repotting- do you and how much?
That pole will never stop wobbling. The soil cannot keep it secure because it is too tall with weight. Ask me how I know. 🙂
That is the prettiest PP I have seen. Most of them are not attractive to me at all. I do love those stakes you used. Where did you get them, may I ask?
thanks Lisa! I got the stakes from my local garden center called Sloat Gardens
since its a deformity, why is this plant so expensive?
I just saw a beautiful ppp and the grower said it likes drier soil
That wood stick will rotten in the soil part. It happened to and almost broke my tall pink princess because I couldn't see it was rotten until it broke.
How much it was? That size pp
I really am not a PPP fan... But I still enjoy your video :)
Thank you for explaining that the mutation is at the cell level not DNA level. Love your shirt too, where the eyes fall - hahaha!!
Cache po or pot? 🤔
“cover pot” in english, “cache po” in french (it’s spelled cache pot but the t is silent if you wanna be fancy 💁♀️😆🌱✨
beautiful 🌿🪴

sand the pc of wood 1st
I really don’t see why people get so crazy abut this. It is not something I would pay for. It looks like it had been water with Peptobismol 😂💕💗
I'm just nervous that you're doing this in your livingroom.
It’s a beautiful plant but definitely overrated and over priced 😍
I totally agree with the over-priced
Put your gloves ON!
Dampen that permits while still in the bag and wear a mask it is like glass inside the lungs ......
