A slight correction Beau on the two members of JTF2 that are being investigated for their participation in the protests. They were already in the process of being released BEFORE the protests happened, because they had refused to get vaccinated. All members of the Canadian Armed Forces were ordered to be vaccinated with the consequence of being discharged if they failed to do so.
It's also important to note that while they are still in the process of being released, they are still active members of the CAF until their actual release date arrives. Therefore, they could be subject to court martial and further penalties as allowed under Canada's military Justice system.
It's a slight correction and may not matter to the point you are making. Nonetheless, I felt it appropriate to clarify this. Keep up the good work!

Hopefully that is the extent of it and we don't have lunatic "sovereign citizen" types in JTF2. That would be kind of scary. But as my father put it (he did 35 years in the service) "If you are not deployable, you are not employable." If you don't understand that very basic requirement you should not be in the military. You literally agree to this in your paperwork when you join.

Authorities in Toronto were well prepared. They prevented anyone from driving big rigs into the downtown area, protected the Parliament Building and the key hospitals, and permitted the Karen Karavaners to hold a demonstration parade (as Canadians are free to do). Police were everywhere, but polite and disciplined. They did not demonstrate any favouritism for or against the demonstrators. The parade was more or less peaceful, given the constraints. However, I noticed one detail in particular. Most of the Karens, overwhelmingly white (in a city in which a majority of the population is not white), were obviously just the typical brainless ninnies, essentially harmless. The Confederate flags and Nazi swastikas that abounded earlier on had all vanished. But scattered among them were some very sinister-looking people. They were very fierce-looking males in their 20s & 30s. If anyone in the public viewing the parade made any loudly-spoken criticism of the Karens, then four or five of these goons would make a bee-line to them, form a kind of wall, screaming insults at them in absolute choreographed unison. It was clearly planned and prepared, impossible to be done spontaneously. This was done with the maximum aggressiveness short of actual assault. In any different situation it would have been considered criminal. Any normal person would be terrified and flee. However, when this happened to me, I stood my ground as they came within a foot of me screaming and looking as threatening as they could. And these were very tough looking young dudes, while I am a 69-year-old with cancer [the reason I was near the hospitals along the protest route]. After a couple of minutes of this, when I still didn't respond with panic, fear or submission, and did not flee, suddenly another goon appeared and said "remember, no violence". The goons instantly stopped screaming as if they were responding to the snap of fingers. This told me everything I needed to know about this phony "grassroots" demonstration.

The governments response was to park our trains for over a month and leave the protestors be. Only once the protestors turned violent and beat a couple railway repairmen within millimetres of their lives did authorities finally intervene, again, with minimal force. It just never made international news because again, it was so well handled. As well, a couple years back, we had some folks who protested in solidarity with Americas BLM movement. We are (usually) proud of our law enforcement here in Canada. As you say, not in all circumstances. The bridge incident was handled well. However, they are being tested in the Ottawa situation where 25% of truckers are using children as shields and this is presenting a serious problem. Child services has been involved now. These children are living in temporary camps, set up in hand-holding lines and accompanying adults in trucks. Canadians know this is being somewhat backed by Americans though we do have our own groups here who do not understand the responsibilities that come hand in hand with "freedom". The freer you are, the more you respect the rights and privileges of others. Freedom is not for the self-centred. The damage to others by the 10% of unvaccinated truckers (yes, 90% of truckers are vaccinated here in Canada) reminds me of the 2011 Stanley Cup when a few Americans came up to the game and partied with like minded Canadians and instigated a riot in downtown Vancouver, the likes that has never been seen before or after with the looting and destruction. It only took a few to create a dangerous mob. Canada is not perfect for sure, but Trump has left his mark here and around the world. First things first. I am a white male, well into his 60's now and have been in the logistics/trucking industry ever since I left the Canadian Forces and graduated for College and have damn near 30 years experience in the field. And I can tell you without a shadow of doubt or a word of lie, that this so-called Truckers protest is anything but.
For the most part, there are very few if any actual long distance cross border truckers involved with this bullshit and that the “real” cross border drivers and their dispatchers are more than a little pissed at these protesting assholes and would dearly love to plough straight through them, instead of being stuck at a border crossing burning diesel for no reason, missing delivery appoints and running the risk of their shipments of fresh produce and other time sensitive food products spoiling in the back of their trailers.
I know this because I am in daily communications with many of the local long haul firms traveling up and down the I-5 corridor between BC and CA.
Now a large percentage of the Canadian drivers and trucking company owners who run cross border are East Indians, mainly Sikhs.
Now look at the various photo's of these protesters who are blocking the highways and border crossings, see if you can spot any brown faces or darker hued people mixed in. I know I've tried, and all I've seen are people who look a hell of a lot like me, middle to late aged, fat, graying, white people who for the most part would not know one end of a tractor-trailer unit from another.
The majority of these protesters are not truckers, never have been and never will be. And those trucks that you do see at the protests are not being driving by long haul cross border drivers. Hell the most of the ones that took part of the Pacific Highway protests this weekend are farmers, who use those trucks during harvest time to move their produce from their farm to local produce wholesalers.
The majority of these so-called “Freedom Protesters” really aren't angry about the covid mandates, but are still pissed that Justin Trudeau and the Liberals won the last Federal Election and are just trying to make him look bad.
And they are unabashed cowards, bringing their kids to the protest in order to hide behind them, figuring correctly that the RCMP wont use pepper spray, tear gas or batons to clear them away if that bring kids into the danger zone.
They are fucking sniveling fucking cowards as well as being massive hypocrites. Coz if this was a First Nations protest, these fine white people would be screaming bloody murder, demanding the Government send the Army and RCMP go in and bust First Nations heads.
Basically they are a sad and pathetic Canadian version of the angry US Conservative White Evangelical Trumpers who cannot accept the reality that they lost and are just kicking and screaming like the spoiled, spiteful little shit that they are.
I don't deny them their right to protest, even when their protest is utterly stupid, but that right does not supersede, nor does it override or takes precedence over my right of free movement or my right to engage in commerce or to earn a living.
And that is exactly what these cunts are doing, denying real truckers their right to travel unimpeded and to make a living. Perhaps it is now time to go to the very last page of that play book and bust some self-entitled, and self-important white heads.

Joe Biden and the Democrats already know they will be voted out...so the only option they have left to avoid being voted out is...not to have an election. We'll see if my hunch is correct , before the midterm elections. If you watch all the various news outlets you can see the narrative is being shaped to label anyone who disagrees with the Democrats in the U.S. and the Liberal/NDP coalition in Canada as "domestic terrorists" and the reason for another lockdown and suspension of elections...in order to "save democracy".

This is the world government that the U.N. has declared in 2016 that it wants to see implemented in 2030. But a lot has to happen first...both Canada and the U.S. must have polarized societies , their must be economic devastation and social upheaval...do we have that happening right now? The countries of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. must become single party states ...so that they can dissolve national sovereignty and form a single political unit. This was the original intent of NAFTA...to begin with social integration, then economic integration, and end with political integration. I've seen the U.N. map of the world where they have divided the world into ten zones of "socio economic interest"...North America is designated zone #1. So watch this year and see just how drastic things are going to get as the respective current govt's of Canada and the U.S. wage war against their own people. The noise of yelling, truck engines revved up, honking horns at all hours, that's just not acceptable by any book. So far there are no reports of serious violence. However, the longer this continues it's only a matter of time before someone snaps, whether a protester assaulting a resident or a resident that is just fed up fights back. The protesters have been removed from the bridge but the spillover into the adjacent neighborhoods continues. At some point the authorities have to defend the people they were sworn to protect. It's one thing to peacefully protest, it's a whole different matter to assault innocent people while trying to make a point. As I was told by a friend in the Force (Lt-Col) they also were put in a role that didn't fit them... Airborne are sent in the breach, not as peacecorp. The longer you have that kind of regiment in this situation, the higher the risks of trouble. Their job is normally to Kick Ass & Chew Bubblegum, not to Babysit and Mediate. They didn't have the training for their new role, a situation which I was told shouldn't happen (my friend got a 3-6mo training when he was deployed in Afghanistan last time)

My brother who is still a truck driver was very outspoken about NOT condoning the behaviour of the very few who were. I am proud that he stood up for what he believed and was outspoken about it as he usually doesn't speak out on any side about many things. Thank you for this Beau. Hi Beau, something that came to my mind again was a video where you mentioned to "speak and listen to the [opposition group's] grievances" in order to keep such things from getting out of hand. Meanwhile as an Asian American male who once unknowingly dabbled into the alt-right pipeline, I'll admit that there were a few valuable takeaways that I feel should be addressed by both progressives and centrists alike at some point in time.
Recently, I've been trying to see the mind of Trump supporters and the like through the framework of grief in general. They feel like their place in the world is threatened, so we'd inevitably see people acting out in their anger or be desperate enough to accept a grifter's bargain to retain their place in the world. While I don't know what the correct move would be, I've been feeling like the messaging from our end should include a clause of reassurance such as "no matter what changes, there still will always be a place for you." Even if their fears would be based on falsehoods, it should be possible to validate their concerns while still remaining firm on causes that we support. Like in real grief, it takes compassion to help people process truths that they don't want to hear and perhaps dull a pride that they desperately cling onto.
