This isn't even a sound bite taken out of context. Google "trump believers summit cspan" and go to 1 hour 3 minutes in the video and you can see it for yourself.
Never let anyone tell you what someone else said. I just watched that video, and yes, it could easily (very easily!) be taken as a statement of impending dictatorship, but what I think the orange potato really meant was that he would enact all the legislation the Christian right wants so they won't need to be politically active afterwards.
It's too easy to put the worst possible spin on anything your opponent says, but it's a disservice. There are plenty of examples from both sides to illustrate this, but we don't have to be part of that problem. If something sounds outrageous, look deeper.

As recently as this month, a black man sent his resume to the same hotel with his real name and a name that sounded white (Dombrowski, or something). He got an interview as the latter.
There was an element of compensating for woefully underfunded schools by giving promising kids from disadvantaged backgrounds a chance. I agree that this, rather than primarily race, should be the focus. That said, in a country where Serena Williams nearly died after giving birth because her doctor didn't take her seriously, it seems like your analogy could use a tweak.

Migrants amd asylum by and large aren't some existential threat to the country.
However a lack of adequate funding does mean that processing those asylum requests is taking far to long.
And while yes that means people who would be denied are taken longer to be removed. But it also means people who would be approved aren't able to start legally working and building lives for themselves.
That was an effective, comprehensive immigration bill on which the GOP could have campaigned. It shows how, unlike Biden, they put personal ego above country.

Considering that a lot of these people have a whole lot of money going in (politics isn't exactly a game for the poor), I don't know that they care in the slightest whether or not they're paid. They'll vote themselves raises because hey, why not, but they'll still be living very comfortably without a government paycheck. Now, if a condition of elected government service was that you live off your position's salary and nothing else during time in office...I've always felt like they should have to live with their constituents as well...they might start caring a bit more. And the wealthy might stop being quite so interested in being in DC...

The dems should do a breakdown of how much of our tax dollars have been wasted this past session. At least 80 mil for congress salaries alone. That doesn’t include staff wages and all the other stipends they get. A reminder for us the importance of voting up and down the ballot.

Exciting news! This week the House of Representatives passed the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2025. This legislation included targeted, federal funding for hard infrastructure projects in the Sixth Congressional District; funds that our office fought to secure to ensure our taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently.
It included a map with where the money was going in MN. But looking at the vote record, it won't pass the Senate nor the President. But they will run on this.
It is common sense that in a fairly balanced congress, zero compromise equals zero accomplishment. Uncompromising ideology equals compromised effectuality.
The House destroyed themselves from within. They took us along on their miserable ride. VOTE HARRIS in ROEVEMBER 🇺🇸💙
