Last year my friend sprained her ankle on some rocks during a portage out in the middle of Algonquin. So glad it wasnt worse, she took it like a champ and finished out an epic girl's trip camping on an tiny island 🏕 🏞
Been out on the kayak a couple times this year out in tobermory and my area a bit (which near high falls actually) 😋 but I definitely want to go back to Algonquin very soon it's just so incredible there 🛶

I've learned to never go off the MH direction when it comes to adding their water amount. If directions say use one cup of water, use 3/4 cup you can always add if needed. Thank you for sharing such peaceful, beautiful country with us.
I also have found that to be true. MH always has you add to much.

You just inspired me to get outdoor more. Living in the City can really stress you out. I just have to figure out how to do this with my 11 yr son who loves staying home playing video games. Our little dog would surely enjoy the adventure. It will be hard though trying to find a beautiful place like you did up in Canada. I think I'll watch more of your videos from the very beginning to better prepare myself.

A tip I do is keep a few bottles of insect repellent in either the back seat pockets or in the door of the truck for those just in case times

Great vid, a lot of ground you had to cover just to have a swim but worth it with the scenery. One sometimes has to work for that special bit of joy. Pup sure enjoyed it. That essential kit is something fast becoming essential in our daily lives. Thanks for sharing Alexis
You might want to check out the Zoleo satellite messaging system when you are out of cellphone range. They are about half the cost of the the Garmin InReach. I bought one a couple months ago from Cabela's and used it to stay in contact with my wife & daughter on a recent overnight camping trip with my son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. It is easy to use & worked flawlessly.
Hard work but the scenery and experience make it worth it. Good points about the grab bag and Leatherman. And your own beer. Nice. Your videos make me smile.

I hope the dip in the lake helped with any swelling of your knee. I'm also glad to hear that you have a go bag in the truck with some essentials in it. No, you aren't the only woman that appreciates a good multi tool. Not going to lie, I would love a good Leatherman on hand, unfortunately it's not in the budget right now. It is what it is. I consider myself to have some decent upper body strength (sailing helps) but there is no way in hell I could ever carry my canoe on my shoulders. You get major props! Glad you didn't seriously hurt yourself! It could have been SO much worse (what if you hit your head!!) Gorgeous area you hiked in! Congrats on the colab with the brewery!
A Canoe has a centered yoke, which balances it on your shoulders. That canoe probably weighs less than 25 pounds.
Not only carrying her canoe but also a pack full of gear and food. However it's not quite as hard as it looks but true you must be in shape. Mostly leg work.
Thanks for the flashback; ouch! I had a similar fall in Temagami with a heavy backpack, tripped on one rock and hit my kneecap on a sharp rock sticking up in the middle of the Portage Trail; thought I shattered my kneecap. You're right, it can happen so fast. Glad to see you two back in your elements. Happy paddling in 2022+...

I have always been knowing you to be tough and outdoors and with Grizzer. But it was so lonesome when he was down. Now, Griz is back to being way more normal. So good to see you two out and about. Nice area and looks crazy cool, waterfalls and swimming.. Better then this 105 108 we been having here.
