Final Fantasy 16 Review: Is it still worth playing?

It better, I wanna play it again at 60FPS. The PS5 has a 60FPS mode but it cuts the graphics down.

I think it still worth playing, aside there are many flaws on quest design and rpg essence, the movie and story (til 2/3?) still pretty cool

Not worth it if RPG mechanics are important to you. Worth it if you like bland button bashing.

Gameplay mechanics aside, I was disappointed with how the story was handled. They set up and built upon this rich world with detailed and complex inter-political conflicts. I delved into the data logs to stay informed and was happy that I would be treated with a plot more nuanced and mature than your standard JRPG trope of "effeminate pale antagonist seeks to end all life to end all suffering". However, these carefully established characters and elements were systematically dismantled throughout the game. Even Jill barely had an impact on the story, and had even less involvement as soon as you added her ice powers to your collection. Ultimately concluding with you literally saving the world by punching God in the face with the power of friendship. It felt like someone set out to write Game of Thrones and gradually degraded into a predictable JRPG formula.

I agree with you. Like i said in the video the main plot was pretty basic for me too. Although it was at least for me "good enough". Not top tier tho.
