    This feature rich watch offers a great value proposition. Functionality and durability built in. The compass, once calibrated, is spot on. Remove watch for 20-30 minutes for accurate temperature readings. Oh, and 200m water resistant. Incredible value for money. I wear mine regularly.

    My mom gave this watch to my dad for his birthday while they were in the army. I am going to a marine school and need a watch so he gave me his swg 100. Got a battery and it still works after almost 20 years

    I have this watch, a Protrek 270D, and a Garmin Tactix Pro 7. For its price, the SGW 100 is a great watch. I bought it when the battery of my Protrek died and I couldn’t find anyone local who could pressurize it. Unlike the other two its size isn’t overly obtrusive. The one thing I did not like about the SGW 100 was the band which fell apart rather quickly but I replaced it with a nylon web band.

    At 9:12 - I’ve owned this watch for 7 years, I LOVE it. Just fyi, it does say in the instructions to check the temperature you MUST remove the watch from your wrist. Otherwise it will pick up your body heat.
    Removed I find it pretty accurate.

    i just ordered one. It sounds crazy, but I was originally looking for a watch for daily jogging--and only really need a stopwatch. I thought that having the extras of a compass and thermometer might come in handy whenever going outdoors. I also like the design and easy-to-read digital face.
    It seems to also have incredible specs: mineral glass, 200m water resistence. Thanks for the informative review!

      You are very welcome and a great choice of watch may I add.
      It is a very good looking watch and the display is big and easy to read so hopefully it will help you with your jogging and if you ever get lost you always have that digital compass to rely on!

    Looks like the E and W are flipped in the outer bezel, in regards to where the digital arrow is pointing. Making the bezel marking basically useless. Usually, in a traditional magnetic compass, the E and W are interchanged to allow accurate reading as the compass needle runs around.

  • @NYGOLD
    @NYGOLD Před 7 měsíci +1

    I've owned this watch for about 6 years or so. I never take it off, it's an absolute work horse. BUT it does have some drawbacks. For starters the band is garbage, it will crack and fall off after 2 years. I went through 2 of those crappy rubber/plastic bands then switched to a nylon canvas type. My comp. button stopped working a few years ago. Maybe it needs a service, who knows. For a $40 everyday beater watch it's virtually unbreakable. It's a great watch for a teenager or anyone who's very active.

    Case thickness is 30mm? You sure about that? & 200mm of water resistance. Lol .
    Casio also says in the documentation that you have to remove the watch for at least 5 minutes to get an accurate temperature reading.

      Ha ha I am such a tool, just re-measured it and it is 13mm and not 30mm - that would be some watch if it was 30mm thick! Cheers for highlighting my errors and pointing out about how to obtain an accurate temperature.

    A little constructive criticism for what it's worth, maybe don't constantly flip the watches around in your videos. It's a bit off-putting after a while if the viewer is trying to actually look at the watch. Also, 20 minute close ups of your finger tips is a bit distracting. Perhaps mix in some light box shots or similar. That said your videos do provide a good deal of useful information for anyone considering buying a particular watch.

    • @wetryanythingchannel
      @wetryanythingchannel  Před rokem

      I totally agree with everything you have written and thank you for taking the time to write it. I am starting to look at better ways of presenting what I am saying and yes I must admit my fingers do tend to feature a lot in these videos so I will try and get more product shots incorporated into the video.
      Again thank you for your constructive criticism and I will definitely bear it in mind for up and coming videos.

      Looks wise I do prefer the Casio SGW-100 if that is any help but I am sure that the Casio SGW-300 is a better model in terms of functions.
      I have added links to the instructions below so you can compare the two watches functions side by side and see which one is better for you.
