We are so happy with this generator. Not only does it allow us to boondock, but it powers our essentials in our home during an outage. And that remote start is a gem!
I went back and forth between this one and the Champion 4500. I decided to go with the Champion Duel Fuel because at the time I ordered the iGen duel fuel was out of stock. I think they are both good units.
Thanks for making a great product that enables us to get off grid doing what we love and enables us to run essentials in our home during outages! We would appreciate any shares :)
We did it a few times before we got the generator but we always ran our battery below half (which we ruined so we had to get a new one). This one has the remote so keep that on mind. It’s so nice not going outside to start it!
Yes. The handle retracts under the unit out of the way. Super handy. It’s easy to pull around even in the grass. Lifting it into the truck is another story. It’s a bit on the heave side at around 100 lbs.
Great question. I was about 15 to 20 feet from the unit when I took the readings. I figured that was a good distance because I usually have it about that far from our camper when we are using it. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Solar is nice for sure but the generator is less expensive and in Ohio we don’t get a ton of sun. Also you can use it at the house in the winter when the power goes out.
How did you get yours to show 15 hours of fuel left I just started up mine for the first time and it won’t show more than 10:30 hours of fuel left with nothing plugged and a full tank.
I have the same one. Runs but has bad inverter. No power output. Their Customer Service is pathetic. Been trying to get support for over a week now. Calls and emails go no wheres. Would never buy another Westinghouse product. Simply because of bad Customer Service.
That’s unfortunate you had a bad experience. I haven’t need to contact their customer service so I don’t have a comparison. Maybe try out them on blast on social media tag them.
I've been trying to contact westinghouse for 4 weeks straight, calling every other day. I just get crickets. MIne ran for 1 day and never started again without a jump. I even got a lawyer to contact them and it was also ignored. NEVER AGAIN buying a Westinghouse. I even blasted them on reviews. Nothing.
not really ive got one and they got issues. already replaced the carb and now the battery is dead and I haven't even had it for 3 years yet. and tec support sucks. not even in the US. same with champion they suck to and maybe even more as they dont respond to messages and there gens are made cheap. the ONLY brand that ive never had issues with is generac and they are expensive. almost as hi as honda. and stay away from sportsman and possibly the harborfright brand as you cant get parts for them when they do brake. I also forgot to mention that the low oil cut off sucks. it dont work correctly as its not suppose to let the gen start up if the oil is low but it will and it will keep letting you start it and it shouldn't.
@@campinwiththeconfers I use it daily to. wel they finally replied and said the batteries are only 90 day warranty. so I ordered a replacement from amazon but its not the same make or model. just the same size so it will fit in the tray. also the terminals are different so ill have to rig it. they claim they wont have any battery stock for 3 months. I also got a champion that's 4500 for back up, in case this one is down again. but it didnt run right out the box and champion still hasn't replied about it ether. requested another from amazon and it worked. it was also packed differently, so im betting I got some one else's POS return the 1st time. like I said all junk
Ours is only at 100 hours so far and we have been using it 3 years. It’s going to be a while before we get to the 2000 hour mark. Thanks for watching. Mike and Shelley

I don’t know much about the Champion but we are really happy with the iGen!
Thanks for sharing!

Nice review! We just bought our first generator this year and can't wait to break it in!
Thanks! Welcome to generator ownership! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
Great real life review👍, I wish I would have got the Westinghouse as its super quiet and fuel efficient.
Safe travels friends 🍻
We like it. The remote control makes all the difference.
Great review..
Thanks! It really is a great unit. Thanks for watching.

Love the opening shot of your video.
I got the tip from Joni from Those Who Glamp Together. It turned out really well I think. Thank you.
We really need to get a generator we can usually boondock for a few a day or two but I’d like to do more ( Ruth)Thanjs for the review 😊

Great video! Oh I wish my generator had a remote start!!-Mike
Oh but I wish I had the solar you have so I didn’t need it. Lol
Your channel content is so great to watch 👍👍👍👍👍 cool video 👍😊
Thank you! We are glad you’re enjoying it.
Nice review Confers! We need to upgrade our genny, our 2000w won't run the AC.
Get one with the remote! So nice to not have to go outside to start it up! Thanks for watching and safe travels to you!
thanks for sharing, i see it has wheels on it, but, does it have a dolly and handle setup to help move it around also?
Yes. The handle retracts under the unit out of the way. Super handy. It’s easy to pull around even in the grass. Lifting it into the truck is another story. It’s a bit on the heave side at around 100 lbs.
What is the run time?? If you were to use 500 watts, how many hours?
Close to 10 hours or so.
Great video! How far away from the unit were you measuring the decibel level from please?

We've been on the fence between a generator and the solar panels
Solar is nice for sure but the generator is less expensive and in Ohio we don’t get a ton of sun. Also you can use it at the house in the winter when the power goes out.

I just started up mine for the first time and it won’t show more than 10:30 hours of fuel left with nothing plugged and a full tank.
Good question. I have no idea how it gauges the time left. Maybe after some use it learns how long a tank averages? That’s a total guess.

Didn't run ac and micro or coffee machine at same time
At 9:42 in the video we ran the AC and the microwave together. It took us to 75% output. We haven't tried all 3 at the same time.
@@campinwiththeconfers they can handle loads when they work.

That's crazy you have had so many problems with yours. We use ours all year long and have never had a problem with it.

like I said all junk
I wish I could see a review of this unit that has at least 2,000 hours on it.
Ours is only at 100 hours so far and we have been using it 3 years. It’s going to be a while before we get to the 2000 hour mark. Thanks for watching.
