Now I know why Jini is so successful in her young age... she is really really PRO.
I read some comments in other sites that her voice n act are annoying BUT guys... see... that's her JOB. That is her being a PRO in her field.

Right?! Simple words, clean happiness. Made for kids to understand easily. Children have a difficult time recognizing facial expressions sometimes. And kid's voices are naturally higher than adults. So by making large gestures and using a high voice, she's allowing them to live vicariously through her. It's really cute.

@@josephcheung6127 thats simply how the elderly talk. Shes not a professional childrens content maker. She's an elderly korean woman. She invited a bunch of idols and a model over to eat and made them learn the proper way to bow right when they walked in. Its not like shes does it to be annoying or mean or harsh but todays generation is extremely sensitive in comparison.

As a korean, I can say that this is the most embarrassing part of our culture. Age wins at everything and although showing respect towards elderly seniors is at the purest form very noble, it’s borderline tyranny since some elders just think throwing a tantrum will solve everything. As a fellow human being, there are some universal mannerisms that all ages should show and follow.
As a Korean, I embrace my culture. My culture isn't something I made or what I want it to be. My culture is something that was there even before me. I hated when adults were condensending towards my actions but it wasn't for the bad it was for good. The point of view you have might be more westernized compared to some but this is the culture what you are left with. Don't be embarrased and what you think universal mannerism is might not be universal after all.

I think that protecting the culture so it’s passed down correctly is so important! Ms. Shim is so adorable and strict (like all great teachers). It’s amazing to see that her constructive way of educating mixed with Jini’s playful way of explaining + sensory techniques to make a cooking episode for children. I think it’s important to remember that all cultures and traditions the world practices today are to the credit of those who came before us. Sending good energy :)
I would love to learn from Ms.. Shim. It would be hard, but so enjoyable. I just love the interaction with both Ms. Shim and Jini.

In my opinion, I don't see anything "cool" about ms.Shim telling the director "to get out of the way so they can roll". I thought it was just plain rude. And the fact she made CEO Jang cook the soup again. Just because she's older i don't believe she should be entitled to control the staff and their shoot.

Hahaha! Ms. Shim, you are like my mom when she teaches her students. You really reminded me of her. But sad to say that she couldn't cook neither teach us to cook as she is not in condition physically. Half of her body is paralized due to stroke in September 2019. I miss her cooking skills and her superb cooking. 😢😢😢

Jini is surely a pro. Nothing against the elders, but Ms. Shim has a really nasty personality, I do get that her professionalism, knowledge and experience is something value, but she always mistreat others and even if she doesn't mean it, she obviously feels superior towards others.

Mrs. Shim is quite rude. Just because she’s an elder doesn’t give her a free pass. She was well aware they were shooting a kids show and shouldn’t be so strict and rude. Everyone was trying so hard to make things easy for her but she’s the one who made the whole process difficult. She literally sucked the fun out of the day. She made this episode uncomfortable and annoying to watch. Yet there’s people in the comments here defending her attitude which is concerning. Everyone has to be polite and kind no matter if you’re older than them. I come from a quite similar culture when it comes to how you treat elders so I’m aware of all those things in between. But that hasn’t stop me from calling them out on their rudeness and tantrums.

I have to assume those aren't the same azaleas that you find in the USA. Azaleas are closely related to rhododendrons, and they are poisonous. Even eating honey made from azalea flowers can be toxic. im guessing most people that hate ms. shim doesnt have asian grandparents??? Ms. Shim is basically an asian grandma, like she's stern and would impose rules on kids but deep inside they love them and would occasionally spit out words like "you are cute" and the such, but they dont want to spoil them, plus shes at the age where everyone should respect her thats like a basic asian household rule never talk back to an elder but if you do you must do it politely but dont engage in an argument with them, instead if they said no the second time respect that and just go along with it.
seniority in asia is a pretty big deal, even if they are really old families would still include them in serious family matters to seek advice or whatever.
Courtesy towards elders is a wonderful thing..should be more of it everywhere. However, RESPECT is a two-way street. You don't get it unless you give it. She does not respect her daughters, employees or anyone else for that matter. To me, she is one stop short of the Korean Air mother and daughter.

For example, she didn't need to push the anchovy stock thing so far it's for a TV show. Nothing on TV is 100% real. I've worked behind the scenes on a set before sometimes it's not worth the extra time when the end product won't be any different. All she accomplished was delaying the production schedule and hurting the mood. Edit: tldr Sure she's knowledgeable about the food but that doesn't mean that's best for the production.
Agree. She may get people to do what she wants, but if she does not GIVE RESPECT, she's not going to GET RESPECT...just obedience. So if it's her "character" to be rude to others, that makes it OK? I'll give her her due as far as her profession, but not as a human being.
