    The old one is so much cooler. I keep mine until it explodes or something.

      Oh yeah!
      Hopefully it doesn’t get to that haha.
      One of the main things I wish they had in modern tech is a safer battery. So, if it’s dropped, cut open, etc. it won’t explode and cause an injury to someone.
      That said, the SE 1st Gen is still a beast of a phone in a small form factor. It has really lasted quite a bit longer than the iPhone 4 and 5 in terms of speed overall. I just wish I had the 64 GB or 128 GB version, instead of 32 GB! It’s getting harder to find good quality models online as time wears on since they have been discontinued.

    Great Video. super detailed and so so helpful. Wife has the 1st Gen. and camera sucks and the screen is tiny. the new SE looks like a good gift so came here to see the camera comparison as its the same but can see your examples the chips and software processes much better! anyway thanks again for the detailed video!

    Your screen protector is probably screwing up the front facing camera on the 1st gen SE. Did you clean both lenses on the back before taking the pictures and videos?

  • @happyrules22
    @happyrules22 Před 3 lety +5

    Great!
    Thanks for the comparison. As an owner of the 1st gen SE, I still reaaaallly like it’s size.
    I had a chance to get a "free” iPhone 8 a couple years ago, but have kept my SE original instead mostly due to its portability, battery life, and standard 3.5 mm headphone jack.
    The iPhone 8 was great to use at a desk, but once I take one those huge phones in my pocket, such as the iPhone 8/SE 2nd Gen or larger, I notice that they quite literally weigh me down over the day. We just live in the HUGE smartphone age since everyone wants to see their content on a massive screen. I get it.
    I am still contemplating either to purchase a 2nd Gen SE or even a more expensive iPhone Mini 12, since the 12 mini is smaller in overall dimensions than the new SE.
    I also put a new battery from Apple into my iPhone SE in summer 2020, so the battery life is fine, although down to 93% health already! The SE is still fast too. Although, not as fast as it was in summer 2008 after some iOS updates.
    I could always keep my 1st Gen SE and buy another iPhone or try a decent Android phone, and swap the SIM card out to whichever phone I feel I want to use at the time.

      the 1st SE has long been discontinued so you can't really buy it brand new anymore with warranty. I had purchased mine back in 2016. If you want a budget iphone in 2021, best get the 2nd SE.

    • @eamonob84
      @eamonob84 Před 3 lety +1

      No, SE 2 has a similar battery to iPhone 8.

    • @happyrules22
      @happyrules22 Před 3 lety +1

      Well, the capacity is similar, with 1624 mAh for SE 1st Gen and 1821 mAh capacity for iPhone 8/SE 2nd Gen. So, it’s not a huge leap as in being 2,500 mAh or more as other iPhones or Androids, but it’s higher at least.
      Maybe what you heard is a person meant that they have the same type o fan battery chemistry as all gadgets today still use Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries. We have been sort of stuck on those batteries for some time.

    Great price??? The Umidigi A9 pro is a mid-range smartphone with better screen with no cuts and FHD+ ips and Android 10 stock and a thermometer because we are in Covid-19 times and a type C and fast charging in simple words is a Samsung galaxy a51 but more cheap it cost 120 dollars (it is not a Samsung but I am saying it is similar)

    • @skyforce95
      @skyforce95  Před 3 lety +1

      Android phones slow down very quickly especially some no name brand like Umidigi. My iPhone SE from 2016 is still running just as fast as it did day 1. If you take a look at other reviewers they all agree iPhone SE 2020 is a great deal.
