A mechanic told me that pouring a lot of water on the terminals will help. They did recommend removing the terminals and wire brushing the bottom connection area. The mechanic said don't use the felt pads because it lifts the connection to where there's less mass connected. Many times there's not a whole lot to completely stop the battery corrosion. There are mechanics on YT that recommend this same method, but it's best to get under the terminals as well. This video is good for if you happen to stall and you can't remove the terminals at that moment in time.

Do not buy. The Kitchenaid is overpriced trash. Within less than a year it would not open any cans at all. Replaced it with one by another brand which cost half the price - it has lasted longer and worked better.
