I would love longer-form videos with all of the science behind the lessions!

I have found that stretching the skin is so much easier if you remove the skin first...ush we are talking about the same thing right? (Joking of course)
When teaching medical and nursing students about palpation (palpation = Examination by pressing on the surface of the body to feel the organs or tissues underneath) We would encourage the students to not be afraid of reaching out and touching the flesh, not only on and around the injury or complaint but elsewhere. The touching tells you much. As tattoo artists we are 'palpating' to check to see if the skin is healthy, well hydrated, moisturized, sun damaged or even scarred (forearms and shins get really scarred up, death of a thousand cuts...lots of little insults to the skin, blame the bushes and grass for those wounds)
The secondary reason why we touch is that it adds or creates an atmosphere of trust, intimacy, and reassurance. Endorphins and other such histamines and hormones are released blah blah blah. When a buddy pats you on the back or mom or grandma gives you a firm hug, it does something to us, which relaxes us or reassures us, giving us any number of positive emotional/mental reactions. All these states of mind are ideal states of mind for the artist and the client to be in for doing tattooing. It also gives you a chance to pull and squeeze and stretch the skin so you have a basic understanding of the medium before you fire up the machines.
This is a great subject and is one of those subjects which allows us within the community to address those things that are quite relevant yet not necessarily directly related to needles and pigments.
Keep up the good work! keep up the deep thinking! get a little wood stove or propane heater for your garage and maybe take a vacation to somewhere hot and dry (Las Vegas? Reno? Or maybe here in Northern California) Give yourself a chance to appreciate the hot and dry, it will do you a world of good! We gotta keep thinkers like you healthy and living long lives.
    Thank you again and again!
    Curtis

Well put! Touch is a major part of the tattoo experience (for both parties). Treating a person like a canvass removes some of the connectedness required to do truly great work🤘

Definitely gonna implement that in my future work! Might have solved a past mystery for me here...

I'll put that one down on the list! We did have a short video that touched on it already put out. I forget the title now, but I'll try to get a specific video (or series) out in the next week or two.
