    Thank youuuuuuuu omggggg I'm a visual learner and while I'm pretty sure my mentor taught me correctly it wasn't one right after the other nor visual so it went over my head a lil

    There’s also strain applied to the rotary motor when using larger groupings the force required to push and penetrate will impact the speed of the motor. For exemple if your motor is rated 9k rpm at 9v at no load, being under load it might drop to 8k rpm at 9v this would be determined by many factors(motor type, torque, force applied, grouping, etc..) hence why hertz is a superior way of measuring speed compared to voltage with rotaries!

    It turns out I was taught correctly with coils and incorrectly with rotaries. That’s some eye opening stuff and it makes complete sense! I appreciate the videos 🤘🏻 I recently picked up a Pen to try out. I’ve been using custom coils into a Critical Supply forever and just got that, everyone’s using Pen’s now itch 😂

      Seriously. It took me time to make the switch and I only did it so I could figure stuff out. Once I got it I was like, “ sheesh. That makes sense…”
      Thank you as well. I appreciate the offering🤘🤘

    Again cool stuff! Could you define smaller and larger groupings. What do you call large? Also would there be a difference between liners and shaders? Because the needles are more spread? Or doesn’t it make a difference?

      I usually go - above a 9 regardless the grouping is a “large grouping”. Most folks call that a mid-sized group now. For the people who use a plethora of groupings I’d say… anything above a 15 is considered large. Like, a 45 mag is a large grouping but to me those are XL or oversized.

    So basically you’re saying for rotaries less voltage for bigger groupings?

    • @BetterTattooing

      Yup. Thanks for the summation! I guess it shouldn’t take that long eh!?
      I’ll start doing shorts maybe with like 10 second tattoo tips

    How does this apply to dank kubin sidewinders? Or any rotary that’s indirectly driven

    • @BetterTattooing
      @BetterTattooing  Před 7 měsíci

      Rotary machines are rotary machines. The indirect drive makes the work of the machine more complex. That doesn’t change how the work is applied. If a drive motion is applied a drive motion is applied. (Way too many rhyming words there. Sorry!)
      Modern machine builders are trying to make a rotary that mimics the way a coil works but it is super complex to change the nature of a machine. It would be like changing a combine harvester to do laundry. It can be done but at what price… and why not just buy a washing machine?
