Possible to go more into maximum Pigment load in relation to surfactants? not sure the exact term but i've been playing around with mixing non pre dispersed inks and noticed there is a maximum threshold before the pigment stops combining all together. I'm assuming there's "no more room" in the carrier.

Yeah that’s right. You’ll notice a discernible texture change that impedes performance. Finding that sweet spot is difficult in small batches. It’s not just the surfactant though, particle size also has a huge part in dispersions that are created. Sometimes smaller particles are more difficult to distribute with surfactants present, especially when those particles are polarized. You can mess with the pH to achieve some greater densities but then you start messing with chromophores and light transport… it gets messy quickly- especially when some of those aspects get nullified as soon as the mixture hits skin.
For those reading this comment - this is heavy science stuff. Disregard unless you’re a true pigment chemistry nerd. Maybe I’ll make a longer format video explaining some of this stuff???
