The pretending to have autism one:
I’m autistic and I LOVED that. It showed just how appallingly condescending and patronising the show was, also the trend in parents announcing their child’s private medical info for attention, as this shit happens all the time.
The thing that always baffles me the most is how many parents and grandparents tell me their child has special needs before I even learn their names, but it’s even worse when I have a great interaction with the kids (taught crafting skills) that gave little indication of spectrum disorders yet the parents felt the need to apologize for their well behaved child because they assumed I was judging their child and knew they had special needs when in fact I did not. The kids demeanor always changed after that and I felt bad for the kids because they were being othered by their own family in an attempt to shield them from outside bullying I guess.
Like I hate that someone pretended to be Autistic cuz that sh*t ain't cute, especially considering the picture she sent in. But major agree with the last bit, "Autism Moms" will do everything to make sure people know how hard their life is, and much "work they put in". Like most of the time you really don't need to announce that your kid is Autistic.
I really have an severe autistic son. He is the world to me I can't see anyone pretending to have a disability to get on TV..... awful
My one friend has a disorder that basically made her try to be other ppl. I wont say anything directly about her but she claimed to be autistic because im autistic. She tried to steal my friends, my interests, and my life in general like claiming to be heavily into metal music which she wasnt (bc I caught her in lies when i was talking to my metal friends and hers by us making up fake metal news to see how she reacted), among other things. She claimed my concert videos as her own, claimed she bought the front row or barricade tickets by herself when it was my credit card pre sale benefit. Etc etc. But what really hurt is when we had our falling out and stopped talking, thats when she started claiming she was autistic when to me, she disclosed her medical disorder to me for years which is what ended up causing her compulsive behaviors to fake being autistic after we stopped being friends.

Sharing ice cubes used to be a normal thing to ask I think. My grandparents would always ask me for an icecube from my water when we were out to eat for their coffee. I've had other older people ask me for ice cubes from my water as well for their coffee lol. I think it's kinda cool that people used to feel that comfortable around others.
That's so wholesome. Also, I think older people in general can be more comfortable around others, you know, because they have lived too long to give a f*ck, lol.

I dated someone who always just wanted got black coffee with an ice cube in it. I never got his coffee right, but he'd accept whatever I brought regardless

As a flight attendant it was done for pure entertainment. We are on a plane for 14-16 hours we get bored 😂

we had a Flight Attendant let one of the Sergeants I served with do the whole "Safety Brief" on a Military Charter Flight to Iraq. I loved those flights because the Flight Crew let us move about the aircraft, stand in the back and even talk. On one flight I had a chance to stand on the Flight Deck with a 9mm Pistol strapped to my leg. This was after 9/11
New fear unlocked. Being on a plane high up in the sky in a box with wings for 14 to 16 hours???? Absolutely not. That being said my sister married a man who became a pilot. She just moved back to Calgary from living in Hong Kong and is a seasoned traveler. She has spent a lot of time in the air so she is a used to it. I could not do the same

When my son was in 11th grade, he was having a rough week. So I called the school and told him he needed a mental health day. The receptionist actually said "GOOD! I wish more parents would allow their children to take mental health days! Take him out for ice cream!" We did. And he just sat and watched movies covered in a blanket and ate ice cream. Sometimes, they just need that.
That receptionist is one of the good ones. Mine was rude to my mom when she called. When I was in sophomore year, we had a bunch of family problems going on. And I had called my mom crying after classes because I had been stressing for exams very heavily (and I have had a small history since elementary of having panicak attacks for testing, we never knew why, doctors said i was fine and i eventually got over it. But when we started having family problems against a very sensitive case towards my stepdad, my anxiety was through the roof and my mom did her best to help me, including a therapist and ny school counselor.) My counselor had told me if I ever needed a breather, to just tell my teachers "I need to go down with her" and I was allowed to spend as long as I needed in her office. But I was shy and I hated asking permission because most teachers would ask for the reason and still be like "Yeah but like, WHY?" Ya know? So my mom called the receptionist and explained that I was having problems and that if she could please call my counselor personally so that she could call my class and let my teacher know I needed to take a mental break. My the receptionist told my mom that they weren't a daycare and that they weren't going to hold everyone's hand just because they were feeling down and that I was a grown woman. (I was like, 16-17). My mom didn't like that. Bless your receptionist for being aware that your son needed a break

I could have one in senior year high school as long as there wasn't a test or project due. Life saving

We need to normalize this!!! If adults need PTO, so do kids. I remember my mental health going down the drain when I was in 11th grade and my dad just let me stay home for a couple of days no questions asked.
My sister has a coworker who is quite amusing. She constantly uses the wrong word. This coworker stated that she was a necrophiliac and was going on about her conquests. She meant nymphomaniac. Yeah. My sister had to go and face customers right after that with a straight face😭🤣😂

I was sitting there thinking that if I'd ever spoken anything like that to my grandparents (or anyone, really) as a kid, I probably wouldn't want to speak for a month afterwards once my parents were done with me. And the way she just KEPT GOING lol.
Now, obviously it's not the worst thing I've ever heard a kid say to an adult, but she needs to be taught that this isn't an appropriate way to talk to people. Most likely she is just parroting something that she heard someone else say about her Nana and thinks it's funny. Hence recording herself doing it and laughing into the camera--I wonder if she's even only saying it for the video itself. Kids don't usually know the full impact of their words at that age, and especially now, with so many kids having access to the internet, they come across a lot of bad role models and inappropriate content aimed at kids (especially here on CZcams). It would be best to nip that in the bud immediately.
On another note...I wonder how it got posted online? Did her parents find out she recorded it and think it was appropriate to post? If so, I'm much more worried about her than I would be otherwise.
Yea, no way I would've ever been even half as rude as the girl. People say it's cute but you gotta remember, these are kids who aren't being taught how to live civilly with other people. They are being taught it's ok, funny even. And guess what, kids grow into adults and it gets a lot less cute.
I'm happy I was raised in a time this kinda back talk wasn't tolerated or promoted. It taught me to be genuinely more kind to others instead of assuming the worst and being vocally disparaging. No one wants to be bullied...

The lady asking for ice; it sounded like she was at least politely asking for an ice cube. She probably didn't want to ask a flight attendant because you know they'd give her a whole cup of ice and Nana isn't about to waste perfectly good ice! 😂

The little girl that was sick of people...I can relate. We live in a rural area, and when we were house hunting, I turned down a LOT of houses because there were too many people close by. We ended up in a house that is surrounded by either woods or fields, other than one house that is owned by city people, who are only there maybe a dozen weekends a year. And they're nice. I don't do people, I could happily live in a cabin in the woods like a hermit or a witch. 🤷♀️😆

haha I was raised catholic and that is what we used to call the nuns penguins. never to their faces of course. they had a habit of smacking trouble makers.

Yep. I know a lot of kids have no filters, but they typically don’t crack up; they’re just being brutally honest, but it’s not necessarily funny to them.
She’s been taught this is acceptable and funny, so a few people are at fault, but she was absolutely aware of her behavior. That’s the biggest issue.

My Grandma Daly was straight up Irish (coursing through her veins). All her ancestors were Irish back to County Kerry/Clare. It's my understanding that music is a big part of the culture in Eire. My sisters and I were always encouraged to play an instrument and be in choir &/or band in high school. I'm guessing that explains the guy singing & being encouraged to do so.

I get why the lady on the plane needed an ice cube for her coffee. I can't drink my coffee right after its brewed. I have to pour my cup and let it sit to cool off a bit before I can drink it. Really nice of the gentleman to help her out.
But I don't understand. Why not just wait until the coffee has cooled. It makes the anticipation better. For the record, I'd be annoyed if someone asked me to do that - I think it was rude of this woman. I don't care what age she is.

@@looloolawrence4009 having a really hot beverage sitting on a flimsy tray table in front of you while in a moving vehicle that is known for turbulence doesn't exactly seem ideal especially for an elderly woman with thin skin. Honestly next time I go flying in going to use this woman's idea though granted I fly with my kids usually so I can just steal one of their ice cubes.

13:21 it absolutely was… til it wasn’t and my social anxiety got worse and am still re-learning how to be comfortable going out again. Slowly getting better, but the intense anxiety before an outing is exhausting 🙃
My son at 4 years old told me these 3 things within minutes: I’m prettier WITH make up on (true) my teeth were “yellowy” (not true) and the piece de resistance, “ Momma, did you know your butt has dents in it?!?” 😳😂 a few years later in 4th grade he asked me what it was like living through WW2, like I was THERE😂😂😂 I was in my mid thirties at the time!! Kids will hurt your feelings, man… but I love them❤️

I didn't like the pandemic stress but I loved the introvert dream aspect of it. I was high risk as well so I was living the hermit dream because I had a medical reason to not meet people.

Referring to the little girl who was sick because she was sick of everybody not only made me chuckle but also reminded me of my boyfriend. He's been really sick himself for the last week, coughing up phlegm, wheezing and spluttering, gasping for breath, feeling shaky, vomiting and having the runs. No fun I get it. However as a man he is also a bad patient and refuses any advice or to go to the doctor. He is a nightmare to be around at the moment. Some people including his best friend invited themselves over to see him and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "listen if they step one foot in here they're leaving in boxes, I can barely put up with you at the moment and I actually love you." Okay then I said backing away slowly to the other room where I dissolved into giggles. Love you Charlotte 🥰

I would have given the ice cube too, it wasn't unreasonable. I think the lady just didn't want to make the service cart come back and forgot to ask when they were there. It was simply good fortune the gentleman had an ice cube and although he thought it was weird, didn't mind too much.

The plane guy reminded me of West Jet flights before covid. The flight attendants were comedians and some of the most real individuals I ever met. They called out the Karens, made things fun and unstressful for everyone. I really miss those days.

In the Blues Brothers movie the chief nun at the orphanage was referred to as The Penguin. I can see why the old guy thought she might be dressed as a penguin at the zoo but it sounds like he realized his mistake after asking and thought it best to just drop it and move on, rather than make a further fool of himself.
Being in full shielding for almost 2 years due to covid was amazing for me. Nobody could come to my house and I wasn't allowed to go out. It was most definitely my introverts dream 😂 This socialising crap isn't for me anymore 😂
