Islamabad, Pakistan ➖ When I first arrived in Islamabad, I was amazed to see the lush greenery and huge mountains that surrounded the city. So today, I decided I was going to hike to Monal via Trail 3 and eat a luxurious meal overlooking the city.
Well, after 3 hours of walking I finally made it... Monal. It wasn't long until a storm came by and threw tables, plates and glasses around the restaurant and I had to seek cover inside.
In the end, we got the delicious meal and had to find a way back to ISB. After receiving a price of 500rs (which I should have agreed on) I came up with the bright idea, of hitchhiking in the middle of a storm... stupid idea.

No one should approach or take a ride in these taxis, they charge too much money Or you should know how to bargain.. Always Use Uber,Careem apps to know what will be the rate from your current location & to your destination - just to determine the rates, this is helpful in case when out of city these apps/services of uber, careem do not work..

I about had a heart attack when the mountain kept getting steeper and steeper. It was very steep and full of those rocks. The rocks were practically everywhere. It just seems rather unsafe and quiet possible very slippery. Then the wind and lightning ⛈. Glad you enjoyed your meal.

Well to understand a bit about Isb n local culture about hitch hiking...
    - first thing that majority of locals arent aware of this term hitch hiking. If you plan to do this in Pakistan, better use the term, "taking a lift" or "asking for a lift"
    - if you want to ask for a lift you need to be more specific coz its not a common sight in Pakistan that a tourist/foriegner is travelling on foot n asking for a lift, therefore, you need to properly show hand gestures for lift, like 👍🏻 or ✋🏻otherwise they wont assume themselves that if you are standing on road side then you are interested in a lift. They would assume you are waiting for someone.
    - isb is a rich city where almost everyone has its own car/transport therefore they arent accustomed to concept of lift. If you are somewhere else, like Karachi or lahore, or near highways, people there are more into lift culture and they would happily give you. Hope this help in your future travellin Pakistan.

Wow😮. That was the No. 1 among your travel vlogs in Pakistan so far. What I like in your vlogging style is that your videos are neither too short, nor boringly long. After watching this video I suggest
    1. You speak a little bit fast so some people can't understand you quickly. Speak at ease.
    2. Wear your mask at congested places.
    3. Here in Pakistan, most Careem riders don't keep an extra helmet despite the direction of the company, so buy your own - a lightweight one that you may keep with your backpack if you intend to take a Careem bike within the city.
Hope these tips will make you feel more comfortable and secure.😊

That was very entertaining Luke. It isn’t a good idea to go for a hike without checking the forecast. Glad you made it to Monal before the storm hit. Also, people generally don’t hitchhike in Islamabad especially with cheap options such as Careem. Many would be cautious of letting strangers in their vehicles especially when they are out and about with their families.
