Islamabad, Pakistan ➖Since I began travelling when I was 18, I was very frugal with my money. Staying in hostels, cheap budget rooms and doing anything that could save me a buck. But after travelling for a few years and learning how to earn and save on the road, I've decided to treat myself with a bit of luxury.
About a 40 minute drive up into the mountains of Islamabad is a hotel called Highland Resort. Upon first glance, you will see A LOT of construction going on, which is estimated to be completed in 2030. After a check-in that lacked the normalities of high-end resorts (complimentary tea/juice, a simple hello upon entry) I was taken to my room. There was an incredible view looking over the valley and we were surrounded by nature, except for the bangs and machinery coming from the construction.
I then indulged in what could be labelled as my favourite dinner here in Pakistan, an amazing meal that overlooked the mountains, it was a vibe. A few interruptions during my sleep and before I knew it, it was time for brekky and to get back down to Islamabad.

Advice for tourists who plan on visiting Pakistan:
Never take a taxi in Pakistan. Always call Uber/Careem or ask a friend to drop you off. I have lived my whole life in Pakistan and these taxi drivers have even ripped me off multiple times.

You can take taxi it no problem, but do a little bit of search here on fare, the way you can compare the fare is to get calculation on Uber or Careem and do the negotiation with taxi driver, help local they trying to rip as not many customers using them,
When someone charges 3 times less than others then you can't complain if they ask for 10% more. Really 2500 rs for a destination that far and High was not even fair to begin with. It shoild have been atleast 4000rs. But i agree when you give your word you should stick to it.,having said that common sense should prevail and one should never squeez a poor and desperateman in need for some dough with unfair bargain.

As a pakistani, I am sincerely sorry for the way that taxi driver treated you. It's awful, and it actually happens to locals too.

its same here in India as well so don't take it that seriously bcz i have experienced that about 90%of taxi drivers are like this. They even try to loot even an old poor widow let alone a wealthy foreigner.

Really appreciate you doing honest reviews of tourist spots and restaurants in Pakistan. There have been numerous reviews from (hired) vloggers & influencers which were clearly paid/sponsored which (although well-intentioned) were counter productive because they resulted in visitors being coming over with unrealistic expectations. As a Pakistani, I believe we need honest reviews so tourists visiting our country come over with realistic expectations and well-prepared to visit Pakistan. Like all tourist spots there are some pros and cons associated with visiting Pakistan. I think your videos are great since they also provide tips to foreigners on how to get the most out of their Pakistan visit. The honest reviews are great since they provide local businesses with a tourist's perspective and give them the chance to improve the weak areas of their service. Pakistanis are indeed very hospitable and helpful people who always try to help out visitors. Infrastructure and tourist services do need improvement but they are expected to improve as more tourists come and give feedback like you have done. Thanks once again and good to know that you enjoyed your trip to Pakistan. Please do come again. [EDIT[: I sincerely, apologize about that Taxi Driver, people like him are an embarrassment.

I love Pakistan and Pakistani people are amazing people, very hospitable and very friendly. I went there for summer vacation and honestly had a blast, great memories, rich culture, beautiful mountains, scenery and the food 🤤 wow the food! Honestly with the cab driver, that’s every where when you travel, I know the feeling but I chuck it up with the privilege of being able to travel. I went there long time but once the travel restrictions are lifted I’ll definitely go there again! 🇸🇴 living in 🇨🇦 thank you 🇵🇰

What the taxi driver said at the beginning of this video is right (although in the end, it turns out that the guy was praising you for trying to cheat on you). You are a great person because of your happiness and your smile. You always show a happy face in front of people. You are so awesome. That's why, in my opinion, you are the best travel vlogger. Every time we see your video, we always smile and can feel your happiness and emotion.
If you want to drink best CHAE you will find it only at local hotels or ones where you cooked chees paratha, we call those as PATHAN'S HOTEL. One more thing, avoid talking to people who are interested in your money. Use Careem or uber always. If you need to ask anything we all here to help. Pakistan zindabad. 🇵🇰

The taxi driver was not wrong! firsty I think he didn't know the exact location so thats why he had to change. Secondly highland is too far away from Islamabad with steep road plus that person might have to return to Islamabad without a customer because you dont find someone in need of taxi there at that time. If you add in the cost of petrol and time then he charged the right amount!

The taxi driver was originally driving on Compressed Natural Gas and he switched to Petrol ,which is why his car took some time to switch

2000 to 2500 is a very reasonable fare from f6 to highland club. Its very far and have bumpy patches too... Also the taxi driver must have gone back without any passenger.. i have been 4 times to highland club and its always a tough ride

Pakistan is a really good place to go I am planning to open up a taxi service there in Islamabad so people from other countries could have a good ride in a good car for a fixed price
