    We all know the struggle trying to find a power source in close proximity. Great job!

  • @williamthesoundguybalestri1745

    Congrats! You got great Allen & Heath gear! A few suggestions... time to get rid of the dinosaur point source 12.2 speakers and move to a column array, such as Turbosound IP3000 I moved away from point source mains over 15 years ago myself! Also, FYI, those little Furman power strips are garbage. There's nothing inside them but a penny capacitor. Open one up yourself and see. A better option, and for a similar price, is the Tripp Lite Isobar. They filter the power in as well as each plug from each other. Just stuff I learned over the years. But again, I have the A&H QU-SB, SQ5 and SQ6 and love 'em!

    A small distro and power generator saves you from pulling long extension cords like that . I’ll upload a video of my set up soon and explain how I run sound with off grid power 🙂

    At least the subs are not VRX918s. Those old Carvin boxes sounded really good in the clip at the end.

      I’m not a fan of 918s but I really like these Carvins

    • @djijspeakerguy4628
      @djijspeakerguy4628 Před rokem

      @@arichindustries Yeah I agree. Not heard the Carvins in real life but they sure sounded better in this recording than the VRX. I just saw a yearly event at a park in my city yesterday where they have a music stage. The stage usually has 3 (or more) VRX932LAP, and 3 VRX918SP, per side. It’s a very large wide open amphitheater/grass field space, approximately 300 by 300 feet of grass surrounded by trees according to an aerial view on Apple Maps, and slightly sloped toward the stage. The sound system was barely adequate to reach the back of the field, and the VRX918s, 6 in total, 3 per side, were already clipping or distorting somewhat at the kick drum, especially with recorded music between the live artists, but also during the live content to a certain extent. This distortion was so bad at times that the kick drum sounded quite tinny, and audibly had 2 separate peaks. (Almost like “p’pop!”) They also sounded overall boxy, and the really deep notes, while they were there, sounded strange and quiet. Also with the setup having 3 subs stacked on top of each other directly below the main hangs, you had to be in the exact center of the stage to get any meaningful bass, but the main hangs didn’t really cover the very front center stage at all so it sounded muffled! Only other place where bass was heard was off to the side of the stage, but then your view of the performance was blocked by the speaker arrays!

      @@djijspeakerguy4628 I've owned those Carvin subs now for many years. I'm in full agreement with how the 918's are. The thing i like the most about the Carvin subs, is i cant "hear" them. The 918's (and many others honestly) have a distinct "sound" to them. I know walking into a room if they are running 918's or even ETX18SP's just from the "sound". With the Carvin subs, i dont hear the box, i just hear the music i put into them. That is super valuable to me.

    At 3:14 you mentioned wireless bridge. What do you use that for? I have an SQ-5 and an AR2412. Thank you in advance

    • @arichindustries
      @arichindustries  Před rokem +1

      I use the wireless bridge to connect the SQ5, the ahm16, and anything else I may need network control of wireless. It eliminates having an Ethernet connecting between the stage and front of house, aside from the Ethercon connecting that’s running d-snake.

      Easiest answer is "a lot". Pricing differs per market, per school, and per event. We work within their budget to maximize the experience for the students, and we do our best to ensure we give them the maximum "bang for your buck". I cant answer for other market areas, but our market here is going to be less than in a bigger metro area where the budgets are higher. Not going to give exact numbers, but between 5 and 10k$ for the entire thing, including things such as room treatments (drapes, props, etc)
