I’m a nurse at a children’s hospital and there’s a nurse on my unit that always says this to critical patients. Once we have gotten to the point where we can’t do much for patient because some things are out of our control, we leave it up to patient. You have no idea how powerful someone’s will is. If you give up, it’s possible you won’t wake up. Those who fight for their lives are more likely to wake up. It’s not always the case but it’s just something that we believe around the unit.
Actually in a way it’s true. Doctors can only heal the body, but if the patient can’t fight, either their morale has been broken, the illness is just to much, etc then the doctor has no purpose
imagine if she didn't think of sitting in the ambulance after the accident and she had to find the hospital 💀💀

I can't believe that you skipped over this film's redeeming scene when the grandfather (Stacey Keach) comes into her room and gives the most heartbreaking speech about letting go. I thought this movie was just okay for a YA romance/tragedy film, but that scene is so well-acted that it redeemed this whole film and made me actually like the movie.

Her entire immediate family died and she had to adjust to a whole new life not to mention physical rehab. That would test the best of relationships. I don't think it invalidates their love story.
