I'm not an American. but I was a little surprised the Pastor's son didn't think to correct his father on his comment about black people being somehow better off in America than they would have been in Africa. It's a poor attempt to silver-line slavery. Any country, or in this case continent that loses in massive numbers its able bodied men and women would be adversely affected in a significant way for decades if not hundreds of years. Less we forget many African states were still under the cruel, racist and inhuman conditions created by colonialism. Lets also remember that the Apartheid system in South Africa came to an end less than three decades ago.

I'm an atheist and came across this video while watching other reactions to "I'm not racist". I was obviously intrigued to see a Pastor's reaction to it. I grew up in the south, the bible-belt, and have experienced a lot of different religions, and came to my conclusion of atheism. It has made me the black sheep in a lot of scenario's but it's something I stand by. My husband believes but does not go to church. I respect and admire his PERSONAL faith and love for God, while he respects my views that there is no "God". We both agree that organized religion has tainted and poisoned the masses to a degree that is almost criminal in some ways. Anyway, I said all of that to say this, I decided to read some of the comments before hitting play and was happy to read your quote from the reaction. Now I can't wait to watch it. I hope you have a wonderful week! ♥

Dephii Hi! I’m glad that my comment made you fell something😄. And I have to agree with your latter statement. I’m a Christian and even I can see that people use God and Jesus’ name in ways that turn people away. It’s quite horrible actually. It’s like... people try so hard to force their existence down other people’s throats, that they miss the fact the all people need to hear is the truth; maybe have a conversation if the person is open, and then let God handle the rest. Like my comment for example, I wasn’t expecting anyone to be impacted by it, but I’m really glad to have heard a little bit of your story on how Christianity has affected you. Anyway, I hope you liked the actual song too. It brought up a lot of hard topics and truths on both sides. Even though what’s being said doesn’t apply to the entirety of each race, we all know it’s true to some extent. Thank you for wishing me a great week (which it will be once I take my grad and prom pics with my friends tomorrow at a park😝), I hope you have on too, as well as an awesome life! God bless😊

Europeans colonized, enslaved, destroyed these cultures, stole people and riches. Still do if you look at the blood diamonds and the horrible industries being built there. If Europe never came and invaded africa? I can guarantee it'd be a better place to live today than now. That's not the reality we live in tho.

So this is 9months old but can I ask why?
I can understand asking for appreciation and consideration for your culture and history, but making distinctions based on an arbitrary evolutionary adaption to differing climates is essentially the root of all of our species problems.
Surely seeing everyone as human and equal is the end goal? I dont see any of my friends as their race, I honestly think that would be a betrayal of the friendship, I see them as my friends and as my friends I have had the courtesy to learn about and embrace their various histories and cultures, because those are what matters, because those are what my friends identify with and in some cases define them.

Dad, dad, dad SMH the "are AA's better off here than in Afica" comment was soooo disappointing and shows just how far some of our white brothers and sisters are from understanding the black experience and perspective. Whether AAs would be better off in Africa has nothing to do with their story here in the US. It does not negate the horror story that is their story in THIS country. Please, never say that again. And btw, maybe go to Africa and experience ALL of it for yourself before painting it as one big hell hole. There's a whole more to the continent than the snippets you see on mainstream media. You really should know this already, Pastor.

Thanks for the video gentlemen very much appreciated. Since the pastor is a man of GOD, I held your opinion in high regard. However, I can assure you that as a black man we have never compared being better off here or in Africa. Definitely not in the sense you used. That’s like kidnapping a child then saying “oh well they’ll be better off here at my house.” Um no! First off all every bit of kidnapping is illegal. Secondly, we would’ve been great there just like how we’re great here. Thank you.

i honestly love this channel. these guys are great, the pastor is amazing for being cool about the profanity and shit and i really appreciate that. hes a cool dude and that kind of shit really promotes his character and his faith. most religious ma fuckers are stuck up assholes and i dont like it. i dont 100% believe what he believes but its his unbiased perspective and experienced insight that really solidify his character and strength in the Lord he has so much faith in. on the second note, i think humanity is a plague thats soon to be wiped out, the majority of us are corrupt and toxic, its unfortunate but it is what it is. we all need to learn to love each other and come together. sounds damn near impossible but we gotta do that shit, corona and corruption, etc, is gonna kill us all, we gotta make the best of what time we have left

Bless this dad. I love his outlook on how Joyner made the white guy feel about black people. However, he may be a bit stuck in his bubble. I don’t know how much traveling he’s done, but there are a LOT of places where that type of person isn’t just the one in crowd the media picks up. It’s unfortunate. And there are even more, uglier places where bigot white people think their skin color in some way makes them superior. Insane that people actually have that mindset. When he says people would tell him oh he shouldn’t go over there and his thought is “people are people”, the sentiment is amazing. But the reality is people are dangerous. Some people don’t care about who you are or your life. They’ll ruin yours to steal from you. Or even take your life. People are people - which means they are flawed. Some greater than others. Not to go to certain areas isn’t a racial thing. It’s a safety thing. There are unsafe black areas, unsafe Latin areas, unsafe white areas, unsafe Asian areas.... unsafe is unsafe.

Considering the slave trade often fueled wars because everyone was trying to avoid being the people that would be enslaved and it also took many educated people with it from different places I’d think Africa would have been better and African Americans happier had it not happen and had they been in africa at the very least we would have avoided colonialism for another century
As far as religion goes that’s iffy to me the British and southern plantation owners had two things in common using Christianity to pacify those they wanted to control and enslave
