      Thanks man, appreciate the kind feedback 🙌 we'll hit that milestone one day hopefully 😅 it might be that most people just want things too easy and just rely on empty 'motivational' content instead 🤷‍♂ hope you get more value out of future content

    Another great job Sam and one I can personally relate to.
    September 2022, at the World Championships of Olympic shooting in Croatia, one of my athletes had to retire from the Individual competition due to a back injury. With physio intervention, 3 days later, not wanting to let his team mates down, he took his starting place in the Team competition. His expectations were exactly the same “what have I got to lose” and “I not sure if I will get through it but I’m going to try”. Not only did he complete the 3 rounds of targets, he posted a perfect score of 75 ex 75 helping his Team (Ireland) to a very creditable 6th placed finish, just a whisker outside the Bronze medal match.
    So yes, Reframing and especially managing Expectations is a very powerful tool in any athletes armoury.

    from what i have seen and realized, when i am injured but not too much, like a concussion, contusion, or even a tougher knok, even if i can play or train, my mind acts as a "injured person mentality", even if i can perform, my mind used to do every action from the point of view of an already injured player.

    What are some books you would recommend for overcoming stress about performance in sports as well as becoming more mentally strong in your sport either through being able to play and not be over worried or anxious.

    • @SamMartinPeakPerformance
      @SamMartinPeakPerformance  Před 9 měsíci +1

      One of the best books on stress and understanding it a lot better is "The Upside of Stress" by Kelly McGonigal. Whilst it doesn't focus specifically on sport you can apply a lot of the learnings to any domain.
      Also "The Inner Game of Tennis" by Tim Gallwey - amazing book for any athlete in any sport despite the title.
      And finally "The Chimp Paradox" by Steve Peters
      Happy reading 📚🤝

    Sam, since we have the first name, could you tell me what the hack is to always play your best in games at all times because i am quality at different times of my football matches so I don’t know what to do to get into the game from the start. Also do you have any tips for a young footballer wanting to make it pro? ❤️

    • @SamMartinPeakPerformance
      @SamMartinPeakPerformance  Před 10 měsíci +1

      If there was one simple hack that helped at all times then everyone would be doing it! More than anything though I think all athletes need to spend a lot of time reflecting weekly. Every individual athlete needs to understand themselves as deeply as possible so they know exactly what are the triggers/things that can help them get into the zone more frequently.
      As for going pro - I think this coming Sunday's video will help you out. Keep an eye out for it 👍
