I've been looking at this lens for a while now and didn't know if it would even work on the a6000, and now i know, thank you! Great video!
Thank you Shane! Yeah it works quite ok but don’t forget to use the tripod 👍
Interesting lens, looking forward for your street photography video!
Coming very soon. Just need to edit the video 🙌
Very good video! Thanks so much!
Cheers my friend 🙌
Hi how do you turn on the 2 half circles and the two middle lines
I love that one with plane !!! Do you try to crop this photo ??? Im thinking about sony a6000 and tamron g1 150-600 for my first equipment, what you think about that ?
Awesome video! Any chance you could do some with the kit lenses? If not no worries! Loving the videos.
Thanks a lot! I already did Austin. Check out my channel to see more. Cheers 🙌
Dude this video is just Crazy !! I've been thinking along the same lines , of using full frame lenses on a APS-C camera body ! That extra reach that it give you while giving you superb images ! The extra reach could JUST be the game changer ! Looking forward on seeing your next video !
....Thanks Bro !
Thanks Curtis! I've been using mostly full frame lenses on my APS-C cameras and love the setup too. New vids coming soon. Cheers!
what app for phone are u using on external?
Which camerabag are you using ??
I will definitely buy this lens. Thanks for this vid
Happy to hear that buddy! Cheers!
I love this combo. I have the same setup. So fun to shoot!
Not too heavy for you?
@@TomsJurjaks it alright better than the a74 with battery grip hahahaha
I have purchased this today, what focus settings are you using, I am using flexible spot at the moment, but have only had 1 hour?
For my Nikon D3300 I have a Nikon 70-300 AF-P VR DX which is good, but of course one wants more for Yellowstone animals.
I was looking into buying a Sony A7IV and a 200-600mm and didn’t know where to look since I’m a canon guy. But this was so clutch to stumble upon. Love the video you earned a follow for sure
Hey Sam, glad to have you onboard. Btw I just got the A7IV and I'm mind blown of how amazing that camera is 😍
How’s the performance of Sony A7IV? Especially the low light performance & image quality
I had high expectations @@teddyabraham3289 but holy cow how much it surprised me. I filmed couple of videos at night in Slog3 and the dual ISO features is insane. I was shooting videos with ISO 3200 and there was virtually no noise. Also the AF for photos is just mind blowing. The image quality and that smooth bokeh even with my F4 zoom lens is incredible. I did not expect that to be honest Teddy.
A74 with sigma 150-600 dg dn is good too. Have a look :)
This video is PERFECTLY in time. Own an a6000 and wanted to get this lens. No one seems to review on this camera. Thanks
Cheers Pascal, glad you found it useful 🙌
I really like your videos and i also have sony a6000
Thanks Haider. Glad you are also a Sony shooter 🙌
Superb content
Cheers Alexandre. Thanks for leaving a comment 🙌
Toms what a great video sir! I have to ask you one thing though, at around 4:10 in the video when you are discussing autofocus, where do you find the level gauge? As far as I know it never came with the A6000
Thank you Chase! Few shots were taken with a6400 which has the level gauge, I mixed up the footage a little bit. You are right, a6000 doesn’t have that feature
@@TomsJurjaks Ahh that would explain it. So strange though. NEX models, the A5000 series as well as every other camera in the 6000 series all had it but for some reason Sony didn't include it in or add it in later on. Annoying but at least nothing that a spirit level hot shoe insert can't fix!
Hi, how do you get the 'level' on an a6000? Thank you :)
You don't. Since I was testing the lens on several cameras, I accidentally included some shots from the A6400 which has the levels
Wow😱😱😱
🙌
Lensa keren
Hi, may I know how you hook up the phone with A6000 as external screen, thx.
I made a separate video about it, check here: czcams.com/video/O6aFT4mZ7Y4/video.html
I need it for my z9
how you show that virtual Horizon on the camera screen on a6000?
I think that particular shot was done on Sony A6400, because A6000 doesnt have that. My bad, sorry for confusion.
how did you get that kind of focus mode on a a6000?
Not sure to which focus mode you refer to, but there are moment when I tested the lens also on a6400
Can anyone help me out?
I have read much and also saw some videos where they discuss that the continuous focus do not work properly on sony a6000 while attached to sigma 150-600 is that true?
I didn't notice any problems or differences even when using on other cameras. I also have Sigma 100-400mm and it performs exactly the same (as expected).
Sir sony a 6000 use for like "the object" channel videos
Because i want to create this type of videos
Nice video, thanks for making it! But why did have your shutter speed so high it ended up forcing the high ISO?
Thanks Anderson. Rule of thumb for shutter speed is that the minimum shutter speed has to be double of the focal length, otherwise there will be shake.
So for example if I shoot with 35mm lens on apsc, it is roughly 50mm equivalent on full frame, this means my shutter speed can't be less than 1/100 (double the focal length). Therefore, if I have a 600mm lens on APSC, this give me aprox 900mm focal length on full frame camera. 2x 900 = 1800 so my shutter speed can't be lower than (lets round it up) 1/2000. I hope I explained clearly :)
@@TomsJurjaks got it! Thank you for taking the time to reply and explain it to me.
@@TomsJurjaks this lens has optical stabilization which will get you several stops (sigma advertises 4) - czcams.com/video/RPkc-jjdgDo/video.html found a high keeper rate even at 1/60s although he probably wasn't using an a6000. still, this should be good to at least 1/125-200s.
Very interesting @@davidhorita9220 thanks for sharing that. Yeah combined with Full Frame body that has IBIS + using a tripod, I assume you can stop it down quite a lot. Poor A6000 and partially hand held is a different story unfortunately, but really good share thanks. Im actually really thinking hard should I get the Sigma 100-400 or some other telephoto lens for my A7IV, still havent decided, maybe you have a word about that?
@@TomsJurjaks I do fairly well with my a6000 and the 70-350 handheld at 1/160s and even a bit slower with OSS on. I would expect you can get good shots on the sigma at 1/200s. Of course the 70-350 is a lot smaller and lighter which definitely helps when it's windy. The a6000 is as far as I've gotten - no full frame or even an a6400, so I don't have any info for ff.
Hey good review... And 6iu gave given all info exept your bag details
Thanks Kiran. Its from Lowepro. I actually made 2 videos about it a really long time ago: czcams.com/video/HGnXesBZTjk/video.html

@@TomsJurjaks thanks for quick reply Tom
Really good 😊
Thanks a lot 🙌
Thx! What backpack do you use?
Quite few actually. My favorite are Lowepro: amzn.to/3AoNHpn and Instinct: instinctbackpack.com/?ref=umw8ngmt1k
Hey im using the a6500 and the 70-300 from tamron and im thinking of buying this lens for my wildlife photography, you think this is a good combination?
Hey Luca, its a good lens, but bit too much for me personally. I bought Sigma 100-400 instead and made a video about it recently, you can check on my channel
H, my budget is limited so I m thinking in a tele but I m a little confused. I used a Sony ZV e-10 so the question is did you recommend de Sigma 150-600mm instead the
Sony 70-350mm? prices are very similar right now or you have a better advise Lense for me. Thank so much!! love your videos!!
I ended up buying Sigma 100-400 and I love it. Price/performance/size/weight - just great
The footage of the camera screen, was that shot on a6000 or a7 series camera? I often see that level icon on the screen but do not see a option on my a6000 for this. Is it to do with the lens?
I also thought the same.
Sony a6000 doesn't have the animal eye AF but the first clip shows the camera focusing on animal's eyes I guess it's not Sony a6000 used for that photo
You guys are right , I used A6400 in couple of the shots as I was mixing cameras to see the difference (should've specified it in the video). But I can report that the lens performance was the same for both cameras.
@@TomsJurjaks Actually I have been waiting for so long to see how a full frame super telephoto lens would perform on a apsc body. All of these footages are shot in apsc body only right? And thanks for the video, the quality of production is absolutely stunning.
Hi! I may know what kind of tripod you use ?
Yeah its from Vanguard: amzn.to/3a9dJSY
What would be needed to use on full frame camera?
Nothing. It already is a full frame lens
This would be a dream at the opposite end of my love of macrophotography, long distance nature shots! I don't know if you'll be able to answer this question or not, but when you showed the sound sample site for filling in the audio: do you know what types of microphones are typically used for nature? What if you wanted to hear even the most faint of sounds? Like an extreme focused point microphone that could pick up a pin drop?
Not an audio expert, but the longer the microphone, the more "directional" it is, meaning, technically it should pick up most of the sound at the end of it (where it aims) because you definitely want to avoid other sounds around (it still will pick up ambient sound, dont worry). I personally use Deity V-Mic D3 Pro Directional Condenser Shotgun Microphone. So yeah - shotgun mics will be your best bet. The longer the better lol. Also for outdoors you will want a deadcat (that furry thing to cut off the wind noises). And obviously, the closer you get, the better/clearer the sound is gonna be.
@TomsJurjaks Thanks for taking the time to reply even though my question wasn't related to the video! I'll look into those types of microphones! Btw: the footage you showed with this lense is incredible! I decided to bite the bullet and buy the lense for myself, it arrives tomorrow. I am really excited!
@@revenger681 always happy to help! Enjoy!
@TomsJurjaks I recieved this lense today. Man, you weren't kidding! This thing is amazing! I got some really good shots. The focus is very quiet as well and I love how smooth the focus ring is. I was able to handhold the lense snd camera and use only the tip of my finger to gently roll the focus to get my shots. I tried both the focal knob as well as the push/pull method and found I like pushing and pulling the lense best. I tested with and without a tripod and it was fantastic. I definitely feel I made a good investment. My shots will be done in the desert, so I'm glad it offers some dust resistance (I'll avoid dust storms though).
@revenger681 im sooooo happy to hear that! Nothing better than truly enjoying the gear you’ve gotten. Make sure to use often (and abuse it just a little haha).
Finally Bro You Better Start Getting More Consistent With These Videos 😜☺️😂😂😂
Yo, you need to check my channel more often. I post a video EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I don't know what are you talking about 😂
@@TomsJurjaks hmm your last video was two weeks ago the one about the light
Yeah that week was exception, but if you check all previous weeks, it's extremely consistent@@QuadCore96 and also last 2 weeks I posted like 3 videos on Instagram 😎 so thats a lot of content cuz it takes forever to make even one video
@@TomsJurjaks Think You Just Did CZcams Sorry Bro My Bad Lol
I was waiting for this and bought a 70-350 for calm my nervs
How is it Milos? Is it good?
@@TomsJurjaks I have this lens too and it is amazing. I wish Sony would realease n apsc super zoom lens, cause the reach and therefore also the subject seperation with the 70-350 isnt that good. 😅
It is good but i think i will go for Sigma 150-600 now.
Hi! Really nice video, finally someone used The Sigma 150-600 on APSC like me. I like to take it on walks and take my pictures handheld, any tips on that?
It's quite heavy, and the 180 degree makes it hard to use like that. The push & pull option is great, but after an hour my hands are totally off...
I feel you Michał. I would say its impossible to do handheld shooting. You must be set at a spot to make the best use of it so that's why I decided I am not going to get it for myself since I move around and hike a lot. I will give a 100-400mm a try 🙌
It can be done, but without image stabilization on the a6000, you have to shoot in conditions that allow really fast shutter speeds (I used it for almost a year before upgrading my body). I had some success with a monopod. I shoot it handheld on my A7III. It's a workout, but it can be done with decent light.
@@TomsJurjaks Well, I can do it for some time. But it's not comfortable.
Well, 100-400 Sigma is really nice option, but I got the Sony 70-350. With 625g of weight it's just a superb walking lens. But sometimes I would like to have some more reach... I'm wondering is the Sony 200-600 a better option with the internal focusing system
@@TomsJurjaks i use the 150-600 with a Canon 7Dii handheld only, it's absolutely possible. Using it with a small mirrorless camera may actually be harder though, since the heavier DSLR balances it much better. You just have to learn good technique for holding it
@@T0ly113 Or train the biceps in gym 😀 I guess I am very much used to really compact setups.
Give us a video using this lens with a teleconverter !
Does this lens need a convertor to use on sony a6000?
You don't need a convertor.
Que iso aceptable soporta la sony a 6000?
Depende de como cada persona le gusta, tienes que probar tu mismo porque ISO se relaciona con lo grano de la imagen
Is there any reason to have a 70-350 if you have this in your bag?
Well you can use the 70-350 on its wider end since even at 150mm its quite zoomed in. Just remember that 70-350 is for APSC cameras, but all in all I would say they overlap too much to be brought out both at the same time.
Will this work on a Sony A5000 too? I'm not impressed with my Canon 6D and my 150-600mm
It will work as A5000 has the E-Mount so all E Mount lenses will work. However, I am not sure you will get impressive results, because a5000 is 10 years old camera and has an old 20mpix sensor.
Does it require adapter to mount on Sony a6400
No. Its an E-Mount lens so fits on any Sony emount camera
I own the Canon version and use the MC-11, didn’t know there’s a native E-mount version now. I wonder if there’s any performance difference between the two…
Which Budget Tripod Do You Recommend Bro
If you gonna use it indoors then any cheap tripod, even cheapest on amazon will be okay. For outdoor use, I do not recommend a cheap tripod. You should expect to spend at least 150-200$ as minimum, because a tripod will last you a lifetime, its a good investment.
@@TomsJurjaks okay bro thanks and also I think you should make a video about Speedlights like the Godax TT600s Etc
Hello, thanks for review, i see that you are using phone for bigger screen, can you please explain me how to do it, or link me video for it? :)
Glad you ask buddy! I made a video about it - check here: czcams.com/video/O6aFT4mZ7Y4/video.html
@@TomsJurjaks Thank you!
you have an electronic level turned on in your video, how to turn it on in Sony a6000
You don’t have that feature on A6000 unfortunately. That particular shot from the video was taken with a6400
For anyone wanting apsc for anything from street to wildlife, Fujifilm is the Best! Their first party lens range is soooo good. Sony is better for full frame mirrorless but not apsc. It’s E mount makes these telephoto or ultrawide lenses even from third party soo expensive…..
I've heard only good things about Fuji, but was always curious how is the lens selection. It's true, Sony has neglected APSC lens production for a long time, but 3rd party manufacturers have filled that gap, especially Sigma and others (except for telephoto lenses).
Is that Sigma also good on A74?
I think it’s much better on A7IV since it’s full frame camera and has a 33MPix sensor 👌
I bought a7rIII, but the sister a6000 will stay😊
How Much lens
There is a link in description
Canon needs a RF 150-600mm, let´s hope it will come in the future.
Yes! I hope they open up the mount for third party manufacturers so Sigma can make one (if Canon doesnt make one soon)
They already have a 100-500
Is it worth buying on a Sony A6000 or should i upgrade the body?
If you are a beginner photographer then a6000 will be perfect. Better to invest in good lenses.
Wait... How did get eye AF on that deer? A6000 does not have animal eye AF, does it?
There is no eye AF on a6000 unless you are in Single-AF mode (for humans). I mixed up the footage and used a6400 clip where you can see the eye-af.
@@TomsJurjaks ah. That explains it. I was super confused. I used to have a a6000 and thought I had missed that feature
the only downside of using this lens on my a6000 is that the three custom buttons won't wotk :/ or maybe I don't know how to make them work ;P
I actually didnt test them since I rarely use the custom buttons on the lens, so dont know if they work or not 🤔
Bought the Sigma 150-600 sports :)
Awesome Miloš! How are you enjoying it?
@@TomsJurjaks It is very sharp. Heavy to use from hands.I shoot without tripod….
As a hobbyist... That price absolutely kills me 😅
True that! Well first, photography as a hobby is mad expensive... and then the telephoto lenses are on another level. At least they are not as expensive as Sony telephoto lenses 😀
This lens is overkill for a6000! Push the camera to maximum capacity toms
What needs to be done, has to be done 😁
Throw in a teleconverter and you know what you'll get.. 😁
1800mm 🙉🙉🙉
Unfortunately, Sigma does not have a teleconverter for Sony E Mount 🫤
But you also have to say that 1800mm, for example, is usually very impractical. Due to dirt in the air, heat haze, etc., you would usually not get sharp pictures with the focal length anyway.
Unfortunately lens for Sony are too expensive…I think I will switch to Nikon , more affordable lens …
3rd party lenses are very affordable for Sony E-Mount. You don't necessarily need to buy Sony lens
All these video samples aren't even close to upscaled 1080 instead it's 4k samples 😂. Definitely not a6000
Well, sorry to break it to you buddy but I know what camera I used and what I upscaled to 200% and I know that it was a6000 and it’s 1080p. You have good confidence throwing such statements though knowing that you were not the one filming 😅 keep it up 💪
